The sound bar is good(but massive), however the rear speakers and subwoofer are essentially useless. Even with their volume adjusted in the settings to be at their highest, you have to put your ear up to the speakers to even be able to they’re on.

I purchased an open box, that was listed as excellent. But when I picked up from the store I received a fine version. This was disappointedly misleading. The fine version did not include power cables or the wireless receiver so I will never be able to use the rear speakers. When I obtained power cables the device did work and I would still consider it good value.

In the beginning, the Samsung Q850D sounded great hooked up to my Samsung TV and playing music through the Wi-Fi from other devices. After several days, I noticed the sound bar cutting out on the audio to where only the TV speakers were working or the front channel was cutting out. My audio system was set up in the Q Symphony configuration. I spent many hours making adjustments in the smart things app for both the sound bar and the TVto no avail. I even noticed the sound bar cutting out on one of the channels during music playback from a different device. Fast forward to working with Samsung Tech Support for several hours in two different instances. During the troubleshooting, I reset everything back to factory settings on the soundbar, replace the HDMI cable with a high-quality cable and updated the firmware on the soundbar. none of this troubleshooting fix the problem and I was issued a repair ticket. I understand that these things happen sometimes, but what was upsetting was I was asked to send the unit back to Samsung for repair at my own expense. Samsung wasn’t even going to send me a replacement unit. after complaining, they sent me a Q code so that I could send it back without any expense on my part. It has been over a week and no update on the repair status. Another unsettling issue when after reviewing the repair status from the webpage, I noticed that my warranty is only good for six months as apposed to a year as promised in the product description. In conclusion, I’m very disappointed with the customer service from a very reputable company.

Im sure the soundbar wouldve been decent, but my experience wasnt. I placed an "Open-box - Excellent" condition that states it is like new, with all original parts, packaging, and no signs of wear at all. When I got there (1 hour drive) to get it, i showed them my phone and he brought me a soundbar, out of the box, with no parts, and WITHOUT the 2 rear speakers or subwoofer. Turns out they gave my order to someone else by accident that morning (someone paid for a cheap soundbar and got mine worth $1400). Youd think theyd help, but it turned into a 3 hour deal in the store talking back and forth with managers. Finally was able to see they had the q930d in stock in open box good for $200 more, so asked them about that ones and the store manager was able to lower the price for me to what I originally paid. Ended ok, but absolutely shouldnt have happened, or taken that much time.

I buy this open box, but don’t bring the rear speakers I picked this 1 hour from my home. They say fair but don’t say missing the rear speakers. The sound bar and subwoofer work great but missing rear speakers.

Sound is good, but there is literally zero base. I have base turned all the way up on both the equalizer and the woofer settings.

The sound is good but I returned this because the reas surround speakers only connect into seperate box

Hello Marc,
Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q850D Soundbar System which comes with a subwoofer and rear speaker kit. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the wireless description of the rear speakers.
Occasionally, customers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The Rear Speaker Kit eliminates that hassle. Connect the rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. One wire is required to connect each rear speaker to the wireless module. Then plug in the power cable to the module. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers – this can now be done via Wi-Fi through the wireless module, eliminating any clutter of long wires running the length of your room.

Difficult to pair components. Paired once, now having trouble.

Hi GeraldK,
Thank you for taking a moment to review the HW-Q850D Soundbar.
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.
