I was stupid enough to order an "Open Box " item. The item was supposed to be in Excellent condition and the price difference was $150 dollars. According to BestBuy, Excellent means that the item has the original packaging, and all components and is reset to factory settings So for almost S1000 I got this : - a soundbar wrapped into a thin plastic bag - a box with a WRONG model rear speakers This is all. Half of the kit is missing and I do not even want to start on the packaging. Thank you Best Buy! A truly unforgettable experience! The email saying "We hope you enjoy your purchase" must be a mockery of some kind.

Here are some tips to help troubleshoot your soundbar remote.
Remove the batteries, press the Power button for eight seconds, and then reinsert the batteries with the correct polarity.
Please know that many of the buttons on your remote have multiple functions. For example, the Volume button is moved UP/DOWN to adjust volume, and to MUTE the sound, you need to PRESS it in. Pressing it a second time will unmute.
If your soundbar is connected to your TV with either an optical cable or HDMI via ARC, you can control the volume and mute the soundbar using your Samsung TV's remote. The soundbar should also turn on and off with the TV.
1) Use the TV remote to navigate to Settings, select Sound, and then select Sound Output on your Samsung TV.
2) Select your Samsung soundbar, and then select Close. Now you can use your TV remote to adjust volume and mute the soundbar. The soundbar should also turn on and off with the TV.
Other manufacturer’s remotes may have to be enabled on your soundbar. First, turn Off the Soundbar. Once powered off, push up and hold the WOOFER button for 5 seconds. Each time you push the WOOFER button up and hold it for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the following order: “OFF-TV REMOTE” (Default mode), “SAMSUNG-TV REMOTE”, “ALL-TV REMOTE”. Please also make sure your speaker settings on the TV are set to External Speaker.

As far as the sound system goes, it’s great quality, but I wouldn’t hire Geek Squad to assemble it. Called numerous times throughout the day, even got an attitude from a representative. They were persistent that they were going to come in sometime throughout the day and never did. Called to reschedule, and filed multiple complaints was told I was going to receive compensation but never did. Resulting in us missing the World Series. As a My Best Buy Plus Member, I was disappointed with my purchases.

DO NOT BUY OPEN BOX. I purchased this item open-box "Excellent" and it came without the remote. The remote is needed to pair the subwoofer and rear speakers, so essentially I cannot use this product. There was a note in the box saying that the remote was missing, so BestBuy knowingly shipped this item without the remote despite it being listed as "Excellent". I have tried to contact BestBuy but they tell me my only option is to go to a store (which is not close) in hopes that they have an extra remote.

Returned the system a week later. NO WOW factor, little to no sound from the subwoofer or rear speakers. Best Buy wasn't much help, unless I spent money to have the Geek Squad come out. I don't agree with "user error" since I put my 9-year-old, Samsung HW-K950 back in and it works fine. The Q-Symphony feature was nice.

The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
Alternatively, you can press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.
You can try quickly optimizing the audio by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.

There are multiple ways to control the bass levels for your new Soundbar.
1) Using the WOOFER button on the provided Soundbar remote. Use the woofer button by pushing forward or pulling backward on the button itself to adjust the bass levels between -12 or -6/+6. If you want to reset the bass to 0 then push the button in.
2) When you press the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the treble or bass levels between -6/+6.
Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. I chatted with a best buy rep who told me rear speaker wall brackets were included and also included was 18 foot long speaker power cords so i bought it. When i got home and got rid of old sound bar and went to connect rear speakers, there was no brackets and power cords included were 5 feet long which didnt allow for speakers to be installed and cords reach the outlet. When i called geek squad and customer service i was first told a manager would call me. After 2 days and no response i called again and was told i could return the product for a refund and no attempt to rectify the situation or even apologize for their own reps misrepresentations or lies.

Hi Poor,
I’m sorry to hear that your Samsung HW-Q930D Soundbar did not meet your expectations. This is not the quality we expect from our products.
Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app.
If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. Connect the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper left corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off
If your soundbar fails to update or is experiencing problems, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST (Ask for Soundbars), 7 days a week. Our Live Chat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

I have tried this sound bar the Q930D and the Samsung Q650c . Love the clarity when they work but can’t get one to stay connected constantly. Not sure if it’s the TV HDMI eARC connection at the TV or a problem with the sound bars themselves. The Samsung TV I’m trying to connect to is the S90C OLED. Have tried updating the firmware on both the TV and the sound bars and talking to tech-support and changing the HDMI cable itself. Very frustrating. Going to try another company’s sound bar as my last resort, of course if it keeps losing connection and going back to TV speakers on its own then I’ll know it’s the TV and not the sound bar. But I have seen many of these in open box so it makes me wonder if others are having this problem?

We highly anticipated this new Samsung sound system because our previous sound system was an 14 year old ONKYO 7 1nd 1 system comprised of a center front speaker, a left front speaker, a right front speaker, a left middle speaker, a right middle speaker, a back left speaker, a back right speaker, and a sub woofer bass speaker. The main component head unit was over sized and the speakers way too big and unsightly and all the speakers were connected via wires to the head unit. We had 5 devices connected to our head unit (i.e. in from cable box, in from gaming unit, in from our Roku streaming unit, in from blue ray player, out to television). The new Samsung having wireless speakers would allow us to place them where we desired and never before could place them and as well the sound bar was small and sleek and promised big surround sound. Unboxing the new Samsung system was easy and straight forward, so was blue tooth pairing, but imagine our surprise when we discovered that this very expensive system only had one hdmi in port, so we could hook up our cable box and watch live local t.v. but no streaming the HBO MAX, Paramount Plus, Vudu, and Amazon we pay a monthly subscription for, no playing video games, no watching movies on our blue ray player. How ridiculous ! None the less we hooked everything up and was again very disappointed by the sound quality in both surround sound during a movie and as well during music videos. This was in our 9'high x 14'wide x 22'deep living room, which to fill that room with the equivalent audio volume of the ONKYO at 25% volume we have to have the Samsung on 75% volume. What we had thought would be new state of the art technology of great sound in a small package was actually very little sound in a cheap sounding little package for a high price tag. So for 2 completely different and unsurmountable reasons (poor sound quality and being unable to connect more than one device) we packed the Samsung system back up into its box and stuffed it into a closet which I guess is where it will sit until maybe we put a television in the garage and then we could put the Samsung audio system there. Thankfully we still had the ONKYO to put back in the living room. We just can't get it through our heads why Samsung would build such a high priced item that is supposedly such a high end item that only allows you to connect one inputted device and sounds like crap sound quality wise. Its as if Samsung built this trying to frustrate customers and thereby garner the worse possible reviews. We wouldn't recommend this audio system to our worse enemy let alone to any of our friends or family. SHAME ON YOU SAMSUNG.
