Really like this speaker good sound quality and the volume can go up pretty high. The lights are cool too, kids love that feature the most.Definitely easy to use. Perfect for a family gathering or a bbq on a summer night. Definitely worth the money.

I would give it about a 4.3 - great sound, descent user interface. Unsure if it is an open box flaw, but I can’t seem to play music while it’s charging a phone (USB mode) and it won’t charge anything on Bluetooth mode. I’m sure I could figure it out, but fact remains. Bass boost is nice, haven’t blared it (maybe a “diet” blare) but so far no cracking or anything. Lightweight considering it’s size, I actually make the effort to bring it into whatever room I wanna use it.

The USB ports are used to play music directly from a USB thumb drive or firmware updates. If you are using the Sound Tower on it's battery mode (not plugged in to the wall), the unit will not charge anything plugged in to the USB ports. This will keep you from forgetting to unplug a device and draining the batter within the MX-ST40B.

Bought this open box price discounted $221.00 with all the accessories and original box tagged excellent condition. I am a lucky man indeed. I am blown away with the sound coming out from this 2 ft box is out of this world. The only caveat is there is nothing to distinguish the sound preferences ( rock, party, HipHop, EDM, etc.) except by ear. 160watts by cord or 80 watts on battery. Easy BT connectivity. Bass boost, remote and a whole lot more. Happy with the purchase.

This speaker looks and sounds great, easily portable and not too heavy. The only issue i have is when using group play with another speaker, i have to keep it within 3-4 feet of each other, if not then one speakers sound goes in and out.

Please be sure you have the latest firmware version. Updating the firmware on your Sound Tower gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. If an update is offered, you can update the firmware by connecting a USB device with the firmware
update stored on it to the USB1 or USB2 port on your Sound Tower.
You can download the full user manual and firmware version directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Towers”. From there, you can select the MX-ST40B.

The MX-ST40B is rated for only 160W but packs a punch, producing good bass when in Bass Boost mode while retaining sound clarity for mids and highs. It's a step up from its predecessor rated at 300W. Party lights and DJ modes are also lots of fun. Great buy!!
