Easy to set up, nice style and ample storage space - but dinging it one star because it is VERY loud.

This drive works great. Large data transfer is fast. It's quiet big, so you cannot use it like a thumb drive, but at about 5 x 8", you can pack it around. It plugs directly into your USB-C thunderbolt port. The only thing I had trouble with was the set up, as there weren't any instructions. I was able to go to the manufacture's webpage and follow the instructions on formatting the drive. After that it's plug-and-play.

This thing gets the job done quite well. I have filled, emptied, refilled, emptied, and repeated many times in the 10 or so months I have owned it. It can be loud, and can get somewhat slow when filled up (which is to be expected), but I have had no issues with data integrity or any unexpected behavior. Yes, it's good, buy one if you need the 12TB of storage.

Takes a while to load everything. I have to unplug it after each use because the ‘off’ button does not seem to turn it OFF.

Was going great until it wasn't. This is my second Sandisk 12TB Drive. My previous one was used to back up files from 2022 - 2023. So naturally in May I bought another drive for 2024 - 2025. Less than 90 days in and 1.6 TB used the drive crapped out on me. Sad that they changed the design of the previous drive and the quality. There appears to be an issue with the power cord / source causing the drive to no longer power on - I've found other reviews stating the same issue. Luckily I have all of my files backed up on the cloud but still very annoying as I now need to return this and find a new drive to use.

I love this hard drive, easy to install, a lot of memory and its fast. I'm a Visual Artist and I handle a lot of data and files. I'm very satisfied with this.

I am on my second of these. The first one wouldn't connect to the computer out of the box. I tried connecting it to another computer just to be safe. Nothing. I exchanged it for a new one (had to drive 2 hours to the store). They shipped me a new one. Same issue. They said bring it to the store. So I did (Another 2 hours...) When they plugged it in to one of their computers, it allowed them to set it up. We plugged it in to my computer and it seemed to work. I got home and started spending hours backing up files. A few hours in, it disconnects from my computer and only saved the first few folders of files... Chatting with customer service now. Considering I had two of them, this must be a defective product. Do not recommend.

So far a great back-up drive, running Time Machine on OSX - Sonoma.

Better than the older versions. Quieter and auto shut off with pc

Our office needed additional storage capability. Our IT person came across this hard drive on best buy website and installed it for us. Has been working fine and we feel more secure having an increase in storage capability.

I purchased one of these in December 2023, 7 days past its 30 days, it started randomly disconnecting while working on some projects. The drive has been on my desk, never moved, always safely ejected. I returned to Best Buy to exchange under warranty and got slapped with no help because I didn't buy their 2-year warranty. So much for great customer service. Now I have to wait for SanDisk to jump hoops.

Very underwhelmed by the performance, it’s extremely loud when spinning up. Want to go back to my old hard drive that was quiet.
