A: Yes being the max weight rating is 175lb, the rating is always taken while pulled fully out. Most important thing is that your in studs 16 in on center. Ive installed many of these mounts for my customers and to be honest the 175lb rating is actually dumbed down for construction, environment, reasons. In actuality it could probably hold 200 and some change. The mount it self is made out of mild steel and built like workout equipment.
