Q: does it work with iPhone 11?
A: It will work with an iPhone 11 when using the Apple Lightning-to-3.5mm Headphone Adapter that the iPhone came with. If you need to get another dongle, it can be found here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-lightning-to-3-5mm-headphone-adapter-white/5622278.p?skuId=5622278
Q: Could this work on a Raspberry Pi 4?
A: No. The RPI4 3.5mm jack cannot be used as input. It only provides stereo audio out and composite video out. To use a mic with an RPI, you'd need a USB sound card or a USB microphone.
A: It depends on the environment. If it is a quiet environment you could get a bit further than if it's a slightly noisy, or noisy environment. You could be within 10-15 ft of the microphone and still get a good sound as long as you are projecting your voice and it's not very noisy. But with microphones proximity is everything so you want to be as close as you can to get the best most full sound. As you get further away from the microphone you lose a lot of the bass, or lower end of the vocal. I hope my long answer does not confuse, but there is no short answer to that question.
Q: will it work if you connect it to a xbox 1 controller
A: In theory it should work since the connection for the mic to the Xbox One controller is TRRS, but since I have not tested it I cannot be 100% sure. It would make it not possible to hear chats though, they could hear you, but you could not hear other players.
A: It is omnidirectional and will pick-up sounds from all around the mic. It will also NOT work with the Pyle PTAU45. The 3.5mm TRS input of the Pyle PTAU45 is designed for line-level inputs and will not a support a plug-in powered mic, or a TRRS mic.
A: Yes - you will need to buy the cord with the proper jacks. I have used this microphone just plugged into my iPhone 10-15 feet from the person speaking and it picks up the sound very well without using a cord to get it closer.
A: Yes, if the Decimeter app allows use of external TRRS mics. There is no noise cancellation feature on this mic.
A: If that app allows external microphones, yes. It might expand the range 2-3' if you position the mic pointed in the direction of the sound source, but in my honest opinion you'd be better with a pair of bluetooth headphones with a mic. Bluetooth headphones can give you range of 20' plus and the mic will be right on you for the best result.
