Schneider - 4x4" DigiCon # 1, Highlight & Shadow Contrast Control Professional Glass Filter

Before you capture your next shot, consider the 4x4" DigiCon #1 Highlight & Shadow Contrast Control Professional Glass Filter. This high-quality filter is designed to enhance your photography by raising black levels while simultaneously lowering highlights. When used in conjunction with in-camera gamma settings or post-production techniques, it allows for a higher dynamic range to be recorded. The result More detail in both highlight and shadow areas, without any loss of resolution or image softening. Plus, this filter ensures no color shift and clean, halo-free highlights.Crafted from crystal-clear, water-white optical glass, this Schneider filter is diamond cut, then ground and polished to achieve precise flatness and plane-parallelism. This exact parallel relationship between the front and back filter surfaces is verified by a laser interferometer. Each Schneider filter is checked with a densitometer for consistent density and tested with a spectrophotometer for optimal light transmission. This meticulous attention to detail results in ultra-high consistency, enabling cinematographers to swap like filters mid-shoot without any discernible variation in color or effect. The purity, color saturation, and repeatability of Schneider filters virtually eliminate the need for lab color timing correction. These filters are designed to withstand the most rigorous demands on set or location. Many feature Schneider's specially formulated hard anti-reflective (AR) coating, which resists flaking, peeling, and scratching. This proprietary coating also reduces light loss and flare to less than 1% per surface, a significant improvement over untreated glass that has a light loss of 4% per surface.Schneider screw-on filters come with virtually jam-proof brass precision mounting rings. Unmounted Schneider laminated filters are protected against delamination and edge-chipping by Schneider's unique Edge Seal, which also reduces edge reflection and edge flare.Contrary to the common perception that filters should not be used in front of long length lenses, Schneider filters prove otherwise. Poorly made glass or plastic-resin filters can degrade the image quality, but Schneider filters, thanks to their superior quality control, high-quality glass, and precise grinding and polishing techniques, can be used confidently even with the longest lenses.
