The Voodoo VR1 Passive Ribbon Microphone from sE Electronics features a passive ribbon to bring out the edge from your guitar cabs with no muddy highs. It uses proprietary electronics and a long, aluminum ribbon transducer to reproduce signals with a wide frequency response, and pristine detail. The capsule features a figure 8 polar pattern, wide frequency response, and detailed audio response. Ribbon capsule reproduces frequencies from 20 Hz to 18 KHz. Proprietary design results in full frequency response. Traditional figure 8 polar pattern. Passive electronics performs as well as condensers.
The VR1 uses a long aluminum ribbon transducer with passive electronics to deliver a detailed, natural sound character. It excels on guitar cabinets, eliminating muddy high frequencies while preserving the full tonal edge of your source.
The VR1 reproduces frequencies from 20 Hz to 18 kHz, thanks to sE Electronics' proprietary capsule design. This broad range ensures accurate capture of both low-end body and upper-register detail across a variety of instruments and sources.
The traditional figure-8 (bidirectional) polar pattern captures sound equally from the front and rear of the microphone while rejecting off-axis noise from the sides. This makes the VR1 well suited for room recording, stereo miking techniques, and mid-side setups.
The VR1 ships with a dedicated shockmount that isolates the ribbon capsule from stand-borne vibrations and handling noise. This helps preserve the integrity of delicate recordings and protects the ribbon element during use.
A hard carrying case is included to store and transport the VR1 and its shockmount safely. The case protects the sensitive ribbon element from damage during travel, making it a practical choice for studio engineers who record on location.
