Customers value the ES3 Plus Kick Scooter for its impressive speed and range. Riders appreciate the scooter's ability to reach speeds of up to 18.6 mph and its range of up to 28 miles, making it a great choice for commuting or running errands. However, some customers have experienced issues with the battery, including quick drainage and complete failure after a short period of time.
I have had this scooter for around ten days, in that time I have found the pros and cons of it. I like the dual shocks and suspension, rough surfaces are difficult on it especially when there are rocks or pebbles, it slides sometimes, just avoid pebbles and rocks. I read lots lf reviews about faulty batteries and I haven't had any issues yet, I only have like 14 miles on it but im not very concerned about the battery, if you are you can get the 2 year replacement thing. The scooter is fast I feel like i frequently check my speed and see that its above 20 mph. On downhills I often go around 31 mph, on really steep downhills i got like 35mph, i would go faster but it auto brakes. I have driven with cars and it really isn't very sketchy unless you have potholes on your roads. Its very heavy and large when compacted. Overall a good scooter, do not buy it for full price though, i got it for $300 on sale and for $650 this scooter is not good.

We bought the scooter for our pre teen daughter. She loves it when it works. It has experienced too many problems for a scooter that is about seven months old. She is less than 100 lbs and is the exclusive rider. I only ride it briefly to test and diagnose problems. She loves the speed, size and lighting effects. I appreciate the latter because it can be difficult to see many budget scooters from the side or rear at night. This Segway is more visible than our prior scooters. Issue #1: Within a few months the scooter malfunctioned and would not charge. It turned out the mounts for the external battery pack came loose, and the electrical connector between the external and internal battery broke. It was within the warranty period, so we made a claim. Customer support was very responsive and proactive. Issue #2: our scooter had to be shipped to another location multiple states away even though I live in a major metropolitan area. I had to make a custom box and carefully package it myself. Fortunately, Segway was accommodating on the timing of sending it back and paid for shipping both ways. The scooter was out for repairs for about two weeks. Issue #3: A month or two later, I noticed the external battery pack was loose. I removed the external battery pack, which was just repaired, and tightened the mounting screws to avoid a repeat failure. I believe the attachment method is insufficiently designed for the severity of vibration over time due to the small hard wheels and minimal suspension. Issue #4: At around day 215 of ownership, the scooter would beep and turn itself off while my daughter was riding. Error code 19 indicates internal battery degradation and the need for replacement. I reached out to Segway. They were responsive. However, they declined to assist under warranty since the time expired. From what I since read, such parts are warrantied for 180 days. I asked for an extension due to the prior issues and lost time. I was declined. The new internal battery pack is about $90. We went through two scooters from another brand that were less expensive for our older kids. Both scooters experienced significant issues and repairs as well and are now dead. However, they both lasted more time than our Segway. Our daughter rode about 300 miles on the Segway. That equates to over $1 per mile. Not great if you ask me. Segway should stand by their products with more confidence.

The scooter works mostly as expected. In sport mode, i reach top speeds of 19mph. This will drain the battery life significantly faster and you’ll only get about 9-12 miles on a full charge depending on the incline.
