Extremely good sound and much better lows than the S1. Great improvement

I bought these because I needed a high-quality headphone that could utilize the 4.4mm balanced jack to take full advantage of my "bought in Japan" Sony NW-ZX707 Walkman. I previously tried pairing the Walkman with my AKG Q701, but they just could not be powered sufficiently by the Walkman’s 3.5 single-ended jack, leaving the sound flat and starved for energy. Swapping to the HD 660S2 via the 4.4 balanced connection completely transformed my portable listening setup. If you want hyper-accurate vocals and a warm, organic sound signature, these are perfect. The midrange realism is incredible; vocals are intimate, lifelike, and sit beautifully at the center of the soundstage without ever feeling analytically sterile. The tuning of the headphones offers a rich, lush tone with great low-end extension and smooth treble, making them perfect for fatigue-free critical listening sessions. They are incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and easy to drive to their full potential with a good balanced source. For the price, the HD 660S2 is an absolute 5-star masterpiece. Highly recommended!

[Employee of bestbuy] These headphones are an AMAZING start for anyone looking for some top-notch quality headphones. The price tag is definitely an investment, but it will be worth your while. With a wide soundstage and great acoustics, it makes it seem your music is coming in front of you. These headphones are very satisfying for the high treble consumer, not the bass heavy. Keep in mind you will need a dedicated headphone amp and DAC-not a general mic mixer-to utilize the full potential of the headphones since it does have 300 ohms as the max. I recommend the JDS labs combo, which comes out to $230 as a great start, since most amps can be much more.

The SENNHEISER HD 660 S2 is exactly what was missing from the previous iteration by including low-end bass, adding a much needed punch to an already well performing set of headphones. It delivers exceptionally on all fronts, including music, gaming, movies, and even conference calls. The one thing I heavily appreciate from the 660 S2 is how the headphones are open back, which while it adds to an incredible sound delivery, they can also act as a makeshift stereo system, allowing others to also listen in to whatever it is your're listening to. If you can grab these on sale, they are easily one of the best headphones for everyday usage.

Warmer than the 660S and getting more use these days than my HD800s. While the soundstage isn’t as wide as their flagship, these are just fun and require no EQ’ing. Everything from rock to classical to electronic, they shine and I was surprised at how well they produce bass given the openback design. Light weight and comfy for all day wear.

They are super comfrotable for long listening sessions, granted at the beggining the clamp force was a bit strong, became better with time. Using them with the ifi Zan Dac V3 and the sound is absolutely amazing! Bass is exeptional and with the ifi dac XBass function it's mind blowing. Would highly recommend to friend!

The Sennheiser HD 660S headphones have excellent audio quality, comfort, and open-back design. They are my favored for their detailed sound reproduction. If you appreciate high-fidelity audio and an immersive listening experience, the HD 660S could be a solid choice.

My 1st entry into the Sennheiser line up. For the 1st week they were pretty uncomfortable but after the break in they feel so good on my head now and the sound quality is jaw dropping! It’s bizarre how sound varies between other headphones. The 660s2 made me feel like if I’m literally sitting in front of the person performing. I love these and would recommend the Sennheiser brand to others!

It's my first pair of higher end headphones, so my opinion of them might be a little skewed. But I found them to be very comfortable and have really good audio quality. I find I can wear them for a few hours at a time an not really feel a difference afterwards because they're open back.

I have always wanted to get my hands on the Sennheiser 660s1 and still do, but when I finally came to the conclusion that I was ready to own a pair, the 660s2 had released and with zero hesitation I snagged myself a pair. If you're going to get this high quality studio headset for yourself I would strongly suggest getting yourself and amp/dac if you don't already have one. Even if its simply just the wave XLR which is classified as an amp card and is able to supply 250 ohms. It is still a great option, from my own personal experience. I would also suggest that you download the FXsounds application from the Microsoft store as it will alow you to better equalize the soundstage to your own preference. Don't get me wrong though, even straight out of the box this headset sounded beautiful. I would happily recommend this headset to anyone who is looking for a high quality one. If you're just reading this to see how people feel about this headset but dont want to spend 600$ I would highly suggest checking out the Sennheiser 560s which is 220$ and is also an amazing headset which was my previous drivers till I bought the 660s2.

I will preface that I am a bit of an audiophile and that my take isn't going to be for most people purely looking to get a pair of gaming headphones. They have a warm, smooth sound, but sadly lack thump and punch in the bass and clarity in the treble, which is what I would be expecting from a headphone meant to be for critical or analytical listening, however, the clarity is missing in ways I would expect it to be there for the price point. When I compare them to my Beyerdynamics 1990 Pro's, I feel like I'm not getting the seperation of frequency ranges I should be getting if it's meant for critical listening, and A-B'd to the 1990's they actually can sound a bit flubby to me in highs and mid-highs. That said, they are beautifully constructed and look great. If I were wanting headphones to casually listen to music, especially with an eq or a good pre-amp, I would choose these over the Beyerdynamics. These feel like more pleasure-than business, if that makes sense. They're great to game with, great to listen to music with, but if you're producing music or trying to have reference headphones for mixing, I'd have to say you might want to look elsewhere. For the price point I would say it's not worth the money, however if you find them on sale and you have the money, they are a great pair of headphones to add to your toolbox.

What the title says! They can get loud and still sound fantastic. Perfect for music or gaming. Crisp and clear and the open backs I was hesitant on, but well worth. Getting them on sale for $200 off, I couldn’t pass it up.

Great professional sound! Not as comfortable as its predecessors but headband will ease over the time.

I needed a new headset for gaming. I have used razer headsets in the past, but many many people suggested I look into Sennheiser. I've never been an audiophile, but I figured why not. After extensive reviews and comparisons, I decided to purchase these. They're much different than closed back headphones, but the sound quality is worth it. They're comfortable and perfect for gaming, music, and streaming shows.

The sound quality of this headphones is amazing, I been listening to music nonstop, I am very happy with this headphones, highly recommended.

I upgraded from my 660s to the so the jump was not vast but it was time for an upgrade. I originally came from Astro's gaming headset and always thought the world of them until I bought a pair of these bad boys. I will never go back to the gimmick of 'gaming headsets' again because once you upgrade to studio level the difference is night and day.

Best headset I've ever had. Keep in mind this is not noise canceling so at higher volumes your audio can be heard by those around you. Great bass, crisp treble, gold connectors and true over the ear fit.

Amazing headphones. Sound quality is out of this world with a low end dam ( pair with an audio engine d1 dac) Only minor thing is the clamp force for big heads like me, which can be fixed by watching a tutorial for 6xx series clamp force

Really like these headphones but they need an amp and they’re pretty tight when you first get them. Highly recommended them.
