I purchased this primarily for use when I travel, and I can’t even do that, as it was completely dead, less than 3 months after I purchased it. Still in the box, stickers still on it, brand new product. I did try it twice, right after I bought it, and it worked then. I doubt that I’ve even used it for an hour in total. I initially thought it needed to be charged (so much for the advertised “up to 60 hours” battery life), and did so, but that was apparently quite moot. No contact information included in the packet, or on the box, that I can find, anyway. So it’s back to BestBuy, to ask them what the next step would be. What a complete waste of my time, money, and efforts.

I purchased Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones in March 2025 from Best Buy. Considering them to be premium headphones, I waited until late May 2025 to open around the time of my birthday. My disappointments have be exponential! First, the ear cups look like mini short-order flat top grills due to all of the grease accumulation on the touch surfaces. The controls are buggy (hit and miss) with swipe controls. The software literally forces one to sign up or it will not work completely (and it still doesn’t even after signing up). For ex: If, I switch from music on my computer to home security on my phone, the headphones will not pick up the sound on my phone. ALL my headphones do that! Even though the headphones are linked to only two devices, they will not pick up the second device when shutting down the first device. Switching between devices is anything but seamless. The touch controls are similar, but in some ways counter intuitive to other headphones on the market. There is enough of a learning curve to where it is annoying. Most Annoying: The volume controls appear to be set to ‘Library.” At 80% they sound less than 50% of my Sony’s and Bose. Also, the EQ has governors it appears. They do not go much beyond the signature settings of the headphones. The sound is full of static every other time I turn them on. One day they are clear, the next day static (in the same spot, in the same environment where I have no problems with connections from any device). The padding on the ear cups sits on my ears but is very comfortable. I find the headphones to be comfortable. Warranty: Joke I emailed Sennheiser customer service with a list of issues concerning these headphones. They promised to get back to me in 48 hours two weeks ago. I've never heard back from them (phone call or email).

Purchased 12/1/22. Worked great until September 9, 2023. Apparently this model, as good as it sounds, has quality control issues which are known, but are unresolved. May want to do a bit of digging before purchasing. I truly enjoyed the sound and the comfort. But I expected more than 9 to 10 months out of them. I hope that perhaps Sennheiser will stand behind them.

I originally purchased these because they were on sale and I did not want to pay for the new Bose Ultra. The sound was ok , I liked the base but it had a bit to much rattle to it for me and while wearing them at work I noticed the noise canceling were not good at all compared to my bose qc45 and when I wore the headphones they would cut off on me every 30 mins. Needless to say I hated them and decided to spend the extra money on the new bose quiet comfort which are flat out amazing.

1-star for BEST BUY BUSINESS PRACTICE! What I can prove: I purchased these 19DEC2025, received 22DEC, they blew a speaker TODAY (16JAN2026) and Best-Buy's return policy is 15 days, so its last day for elibility of return was yesterday 15JAN2026. I bought a new-condition item. What I cannot prove: When I received the item, the shipping label was marked "Returns Center." I was slightly suspicious but the box's tamper-proof stickers were undisturbed so I wrote it off as paranoia, since I did pay for a "new" product. When I opened the box, the mfg labels on the ear cups seemed sloppily applied on the left-ear sticker--as if somebody had removed and then re-applied it. I couldn't prove it...but then the Returns Center origin began to make more sense. Again, I thought I was paranoid because of the tamper-proof seals on the outer packaging appearing pristine. I own several Sennheiser headsets and this was the first to blow a speaker, within 30 days of ownership. I highly suspect Best Buy is selling refurbished items, marked "new." SHAME ON YOU, BEST BUY!

This product was rushed and 20 minute firmware updates are being released daily to fix issues. They worked great and sounded great for the first day. Now I’ve spent 2 hours trying to get them to turn back on the second day!! I have factory reset them and unpaired and repaired multiple times. They will not turn on. I have made sure they are charged. ADDITIONALLY: these headphones can not be used wired unless they are turned on (or have a charge). Check Reddit for more complaints and problems with these headphones. They work good enough for a review and then crap out! Can’t even get them to turn on anymore so looks like I’ll be switching to the XM5s……… Don’t trust my review, see for yourself on Reddit, everyone is upset!!

The headphones were completely defective. The first day I got them, I immediately noticed constant crackling during the first song I played. And the headphones refused to turn off of enter bluetooth pairing mode, as if the button on the headphones had not function at all. The second day, they started randomly disconnecting every 15 seconds, either that or they would randomly activate siri or open the sennheiser sound app. Gave 1 star because it was nearly impossible to listen to music without running jnto some issue every 15 seconds. Disappointed in this product, for $400 it’s nothing short if a scam

It pains me to leave a bad review because these were everything I wanted in a pair of ANC headphones. The ANC excellent and sound is superb. I also love the SmartControlPlus+ app to customize the experience. I loved and enjoyed them for about 3 months before the problems started. I held down the power button to turn them off, and they wouldn’t turn off. The button hasn’t worked since. At that time, at least they would still turn on and sync when I took them out of the case. After another week, they refused to sync to any device, even though they would show up as available. I’ve tried factory reset through the app, firmware updates, everything. These things have issues, and I’m not the only one. Go elsewhere.

The good : comfortable. The bad: sound quality. Great at low volume. Horrible after 60% not heavy at low end at all.

For the amount of hype these get, they’re honestly disappointing. The build quality and overall feel are somehow worse than Sony’s. Sound quality is underwhelming even with EQ, the padding feels like something from a $50 headset, and the ANC doesn’t come close to Bose or Sony. Expected premium… did not even get mid.

I returned this item because it didn’t work. Best Buy must’ve put a broken one on the shelf. And wouldn’t match the price for a working one

I wanted to like this headphones because the sound quality is very good but after 5 months of using, it stopped working. Returned to BB but there’s nothing they can do. Now, I’m going through Sennheiser for a repair.

I'm not sure if Sennheiser maintains nonexistent quality control guidelines, but there seem to be a lot of reports online of Momentum 4s exhibiting various failures: dropped Bluetooth connections, static in one or both headphones, audio cutting out during playback, loss of sound quality settings, etc. After owning mine for about a month, the problems started. Constant Bluetooth dropouts and static in both ears, connected to both Windows and Android hosts, so these issues aren't specific to a particular platform. A $50 pair of Anker Soundcore headphones performs better than these $300 cans. Really absurd. Working through the warranty process with Sennheiser now, but I do not have high hopes of receiving a functional product.

Was dead on arrival. Wouldn't turn on or take a charge. Tried several different USB-C cords and chargers and nothing worked.

The bluetooth connection is the most finicky and worst I have ever seen in a premium product. The auto-off/one feature is beyond useless. Avoid this product.

These are some very expensive headphones that routinely fail to connect to devices and require factory resets every 2 weeks. On top of that, firmware updates are routinely pushed to the device MONTHS after they are relevant, meaning after having these headphones for 6 months I am still getting “new” updates that were supposedly released 9-12 months ago. They clearly are hoping to collect as much personal data as possible without having a functional product to start with!

For a supposed premium set of headphones, theres too many glitches in this set that i dont have with other headphones. Id you try to connect to 2 devices, it glitches really bad. They will randomly turn on while in the case, and the power on and off button is iffy. For the price, can’t recommend.
