The Sennheiser RS 275 are able to connect to almost any TV, but they do have faults. The headset comes with a nice quality metal headset stand, a pre-programmed receiver, and some audio cables. The headphones themselves are not necessarily cheaply made, but being comprised of all plastic - they definitely feel cheap. The first time I tried them on, I found the headset to be very uncomfortable. For example, the ear cups feal very stiff and they don’t provide that much cushion, and the headset feels tight like its squeezing my head. Needless to say, I could not wear these for more than a few minutes without having to take them off. Setting up the headset could be simple depending on your equipment and knowledge of it. Luckily, the website does offer plenty of YouTube tutorials. Having the preprogrammed receiver lets you connect it to TV’s that don’t have Bluetooth capabilities but can also be a crutch especially if you want to keep everything flush and tidy. There are 3 listening modes you can switch on the receiver; clear voice, 3D sound (or surround sound), or both clear voice and 3D sound. The sound quality of the RS 275’s left me disappointed. I connected them using an optical cable, then I tried first tried out the 3D sound. You can definitely tell the difference when you have the 3D mode on as the sounds appears a lot wider…The problem I had is the sound quality is not that good to me. Everything sounded very sharp and muffled, like very ear piercing. The highs were way too high, and the lows were almost non-existent. I switched it to voice clarity to see if that would make a difference. The biggest difference was the sound field, it went from expanded to narrow, that’s about the only difference I noticed. The sounds were still sharp and muffled, and there was almost no bass. Sennheiser does offer a companion app that lets you customize the EQ settings, and while I tried it, I didn’t find it to be that big of an improvement. Overall, I am not impressed with the Sennheiser RS 275 headphones. The build quality of the headset is not comfortable to me at all; in fact, the headphone stand is the nicest product that comes in the box. I am really disappointed with the sound quality; these sound like I’m watching a movie on an airplane. The only thing I think these have going for them is that they can be used with almost any TV, other than that I would not recommend these headphones.
