I got this unit a little over a year ago from Best Buy on significant markdown. The bluetooth receiver works fine. I don't listen to the radio much anymore, but the radio receiver works fine too. The sound quality is pretty good given the size of the unit. The issue is that the CD player function, which is what I primarily bought it for, is very hit or miss. I'm a GenXer with a sizeable CD collection and some of my CDs are not available on music streaming platforms, so it's nice to have a CD player so I can listen to those. This is the second multi-disc player I've purchased in the past half decade and both turned out to have serious issues. The other was an Onkyo 6 disc CD carousel that worked fine for a year and a half or so but now every CD I put in it skips like crazy. I bought it to replace an old Yamaha multi disc carousel that lasted for 25-30 years. Anyway, this Sharp unit was marked down and seemed like a good deal so I bought it. CD playback was fine for a month or so. Then, it stopped playing certain CDs entirely. Others certain tracks would reliably skip. These are not CDs I ripped but CDs I purchased from stores. All of these CDs play flawlessly on an old 90s era under cabinet mount CD player clock radio that we have in our kitchen, so the CDs are in good enough shape to play on other devices. Honestly, none are significantly scratched or anything. So, I contacted Sharp about the issue and they said the unit doesn't support MP3 file formats and thought the issue was a file format incompatibility. Well, all of these CDS are purchased from stores and presumably NOT MP3 files, nor are they Apple music file formats. Besides which, after resetting the unit one of the CDs that refused to play before the reset played back flawlessly. But then within a few days it no longer played back at all, once again. That is not a file format issue - there's no way resetting the unit could have made it suddenly capable of reading file formats that aren't supported only to STOP reading those formats a few days later. The CD itself...the file format isn't changing. So, it's some other problem. Anyway, it does play most of my CDs flawlessly. Others there's some minor skipping on certain tracks, or it just won't play certain tracks. Others it will detect the CD well enough to count the tracks but can't play a single note of music. And then there are CDs I insert and it says "no disc" so it isn't reading those at all. I'd guesstimate that it fails in some way to acceptably play about a quarter to a third of the CDs I try to play. I've heard that CDs are starting to come back as a popular music format...well, based on my 0-2 experience with recently purchased players I have to say consumer electronics brands are going to have to improve their quality by leaps and bounds because a music format can't come back into vogue if the players they build to play that format won't. So, I give it 2 stars based on the sound quality and the fact that two of the three functions work fine, but really, it shouldn't be this hard to find a decent quality multi disc CD player in this day and age.

Bought this as a gift, as of now not working that good. CD's seem good. The AM/FM radio reception/volume not so much constantly cuts in and out, very sensitive to any movement near around it.

Worked great with wonderful sound for 15 months! Then CD player stopped working!! Other components still work but purchased for multi-CD player. Of course, warranty only 1 year. Did not like front display that stays on constantly & unable to turn that off!

Previously owned Sony boombox and loved it. Was easy to power on, FM tuning, and CD player. Bought this Sharp and spent an hour trying to setup and find FM station. Controls on front of system are too small to read, and I have to refer to the voluminous instructions to figure out the system controls. Remote still doesn't work with the system.

Sound is good. The five CD holders are nice to have but a bit flimsy. Shuffle option does not seem to work. Only displays the track number playing ... not the titles.

The sound is good. We purchased this to use in our cabin where there is not much for entertainment. We have CD's that we still enjoy and hoped this would be like a jutebox and play one after the other once loaded. NOT SO MUCH. The music will be playing fine and suddenly stop in the middle every now and then. The display will usually say "Bluetooth" and we have to cycle back to "CD" to resume playing. Having to recycle the selection 4 or 5 times a day is annoying.

I guess you get what you pay for. This system was inexpensive, did not realize speakers "had wires," until I bought it, could not find a place in my apartment where it looked good. Big and clunky, sound was just ok.

System has nice CD changer but bass is limited and speaker wires limit the placement of speakers. Definitely limited to a dorm room or bedroom.

I wanted a stereo that played 5 discs . Got that ,but i also wanted ot to play random songs from different disks. Does not do that. When i hit random it doesnt change anything. Very dissappointed..

This product does not have a quality antenna. Why would you produce and sell an expensive product that provides little to no reception? I have been searching for an antenna that works with the stereo but no luck yet. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE ADVERTISING LIES consumers have to sift through when they shop.

No fault of Best Buy but the CD player wouldn’t work having to deal with the mfgr and they won’t have part in until September. They do not do replacement units only repairs. The shame was we bought for my dad for Father’s Day and he isn’t able to enjoy his gift.

We just wanted a simple to use CD player with a shuffle mode. Unfortunately, the instructions are unnecessarily complex. Sharp should have a more simplistic instruction sheet.

Price and delivery were good, but the product itself was a disappointment. The sound quality was , at best, fair. I expected better. Tried to order a Sony sysrem to replace it, but keep being told by site that it is not available ; but without offering an alternative.
