These are the best darn open ear headphones on the market in my honest opinion. I have 2 for me and I bought my wife one & my 2 sons. I've had my share of earphones over the last 2-4 decades. I just love tech. So, I first got a pair of Shokz about 3 yrs ago & they were awesome - the battery life was unreal, sound quality & clarity was superb except I was getting headaches and my ears were just in pain but i really liked them so i just kept on using them until one day I went back to best buy & explained to the sales rep what was going on. So asked me to see the headphones. He chuckled and said sir, these are the MINI SHOKZ, needless to say I felt like an idiot & we were both laughing our azzes off. I felt so stupid but to be honest, I did remember the sales rep at the time telling me that they were Mini's but they were the last SHOKZ in stock so i bought them anyway. Anyway, this rep upgraded me from the Mini to the SHOKZ PRO 2 on my BEST BUY TOTAL membership. Man what a difference. I could literally not feel them on my head. I told my wife the story and she was dying with laughter regarding me using the Mini all this time. I don't leave home without them, these things last all day at work even when I work overtime like last night 14 hrs. I use these headphones religiously. I was still yapping the phone after i got home last night. My wife HATES any kind of headphones on her head or over her ears. She refused to try them until one day she did the unthinkable when I was at work, she tried them on and now she uses them to talk to her family and friends back in Australia all the time. She was tired of carrying the phone around the house, now she just puts it down and walk around talking away. She uses them to watch tv in bed at night as well. She likes that its so light, the clarity of the sound, she gets no headaches, she also loves the fact the battery use on it last all day. My boys were die-hard Airpod users whom also refused a new pair of these headphones, so when their Airpods crapped out on them, I bought them both the Shokz Pro 2 a couple months ago and sat it on their computer desks and they kept on trashing it before they even tried the darn things. Typical teens, lol. My one son came to us and said WOW dad, these headphones are the best headphones ever, sorry Apple, I'm a Samsung phone user, Android all day but every couple hrs my boys would be charging their Airpods non stop & they were hating it but they were to PRIDEFUL to tell us, because I would tease them about their Airpods. They now rave about these headphones all the time to their friends. Needless to say, my other son eventually fessed up saying, dad I'm not going to lie, these headphones rock, OMG. Yeah, so last night, I asked my boys if they wanted some Airpods for Christmas to add to the list, they were like really dad, yeah right. They want another pair of SHOKZ, just another color & my wife heard them, She wants a Silver one as her second pair among other gifts of course. I'm getting the orange one to match my orange watch You guys have created an AWESOME product. I never thought I'd ever be leaving a review for headphones like this product. Its also pretty kewl when other folks are like, hey man these are kewl, what are they & how clear are they since they're not in your ears, I would be like here try them on and they're like get the heck out of here, these are AWESOME, I'm like yep!!! Merry Christmas all, thanks for these great products - Thanks to SHOKZ & BEST BUY. PROS - ●Battery life is Insane 14 Hrs plus ●Clarity ●Durability ●Aesthetics ●Flexibilty ●Choice of colors ●Bluetooth connectivity Pairing ●Waterproof ●Open ear ●Functionality is seamless ●Very lightweight ●Ergonomics ●Fits like an ear glove ●Different EQ modes on the app ●Bluetooth Range 55ft - 65ft tested ●Price point ●Fast charging CONS - ●NONE SO FAR

I’ve been using my Open Shokz headphones for a while now, and they’ve completely changed how I listen to audio during workouts and daily activities. The open-ear design is honestly the biggest advantage — I can enjoy music or podcasts while still being fully aware of my surroundings. That makes a huge difference when walking outside, driving, or even just staying connected to what’s happening around me at home. They’re incredibly lightweight and comfortable. I can wear them for long periods without any pressure on my ears, which is something I could never say about traditional earbuds. The fit is secure too — they stay in place during workouts, walks, and even more intense movement. Sound quality is surprisingly clear for bone conduction headphones. Of course, they’re not meant to replace deep bass headphones, but for everyday listening, calls, and workouts, they perform really well. Call quality has also been excellent — people hear me clearly even when I’m outdoors. Battery life has been reliable, charging is quick, and the build quality feels premium and durable. Overall, Open Shokz headphones are perfect if you want comfort, safety, and convenience without sealing off your ears. They’ve become one of my favorite everyday tech accessories, especially for fitness and outdoor use. Highly recommended.

I picked these up from Best Buy and I’m seriously impressed. The open-ear design is super comfortable and keeps me aware of my surroundings while running. Sound quality is much better than I expected, clear vocals and surprisingly good bass for bone-conduction headphones. They stay in place even during long runs and don’t cause any ear fatigue. Battery life is solid, and I love that it now charges via USB-C. If you’re active or run outdoors often, these are a game changer. Totally worth it!

Great headphones for running and workouts. Lightweight, secure fit, and the open-ear design keeps you aware of your surroundings. Sound quality is clear and improved over older bone-conduction models, battery life is solid, and Bluetooth is reliable. Highly recommended for outdoor and active use.

This are my first bone conduction technology buds, the quality of the sound is ok overall, but as per what tou can get in a work environment is perfect an clear, music sounds good, if someone talk to you inperson if you don't have the volume all the way up you can listen to them, otherwise you need to lower the volume down. The design is very esthetic, the color is beautiful (I have the blue ones), also are very light so you don't feel like you have them on, excellent for work and gym environment.

I've been using Shokz headphones since the original AfterShokz Titaniums, with the bulky speakers. These are genuinly some of the best non in-ear headphones I've ever had. The bass is warm and powerful with the right settings (ei, not outside where cars are driving pass), sound quality is a major step up from previous generations, charging is barely 20-30 mins to full, and the new design means there is no vibration felt. I'd say the only issue I have with them, and this issue is a result of the redesign positives, is that the new USB C charging and seperate bass means these are NOT waterproof. My original openruns were fully enclosed and magnetically charged, so after a day of work and running, i could dunk them into water or wash them in a running faucet no issue. These you have to be more careful with, as the charging port and bass speakers make them susceptable to water damage. A fair trade off, but keep that in mind.

This is the type of headphones you need if you want something that doesn't fall out of your ears. I've tried many different wireless earbuds but they all eventually fall out when i'm doing yard work. This stays on the entire time and has great sound quality. Through the app you have several different options you can adjust depending if you want bone conduction only, just the built in speakers, or a mix of both which is the standard.

This review was entirely typed out by a human, typos and suboptimal grammar choices included. As my review title notes, I really enjoy using the OpenRun Pro 2s (ORP2s), but I don’t think they’re for everyone. I’m paraphrasing an opinion I heard from one review I found on this product about setting your expectations properly for this product because I think that’s the best way to approach whether or not you should buy this product. I'll divide this review by questions that should be asked by anyone who isn’t already familiar with the Shokz product lineup and open-ear technology in general. 1. What is the ORP2? The easiest way I can understand and concisely describe this product is as a hybrid bone conduction/air conduction headset. What that means is that in addition to providing audio via bone conduction via your cheek bones (as is a Shokz specialty), they also incorporated air conduction audio drivers that play audio directly into your ear canal. 2. Why is this an interesting design choice? I also own a pair of regular Shokz OpenRuns as well, and the key disadvantage of those is the limited audio quality it can generate through the bones alone (not very much bass, some describe it as “tinny” sounding), I also noticed that the vibrations get rather strong above a certain volume and make my cheek bones itch/tingle a bit after prolonged use, especially with phone calls where the volume can peak randomly. The ORP2s remedy that as the air conduction drivers project bass infinitely better than the bone conduction alone could in my experience. I also get nowhere close to the amount of cheek bone vibration with the ORP2s compared to my old OpenRuns, which has made the listening/calling experience significantly more comfortable. As far as open-ear headphone designs go, this has been my favorite for comfort as I am still able to hear my surroundings with my ear canals open but can still enjoy what I’m listening to properly (good bass projection and range of sound). 3. How do these do compared to other headphone designs? Because these are open-ears, they can’t compete with in-ear headbands or over-ear headphones. This is why I bring up the point of setting your expectations properly in the review title. If sound quality is your top priority and an open-ear design is not important to you, this is not where you should be looking. That said, these have given me the best listening experience among the open-ear designs I have personally tried. 4. What are the best use-cases of the the ORP2? Shokz has advertised the ORP2 heavily as a fitness-oriented headphone, but this is where I will slightly disagree with the marketing on this particular point. I would say this is a better choice for home, work (depending on profession), and casual daily use. The reason I say this is because of the IP55 water rating - this isn’t a bad rating per se, but it’s a far cry from the regular OpenRun’s IP67 rating. I have seen many anecdotes of other ORP2 users who have been through multiple sets of the ORP2s due to heavy sweat eventually causing the electronics to short out. I would be nervous using these on long and sweaty summer bike rides (especially when it rains). Back on topic - your mileage may vary if you use this in a fitness capacity and you absolutely could take them on a long run/bike ride (provided you know the limitations of the IP55 rating), but for me the ORP2s are most useful to me as my new daily drivers when I’m working, doing chores around the house, and making phone calls while I’m driving. For me, my work environment is generally quiet but I do need to know when someone is talking to me. 5. Miscellaneous thoughts/features: the USB-C charging is nice for convenience, especially in my case since I strictly use these in a non-fitness capacity. However I would suspect that this design is part of what’s holding back the water/dust resistance with the IP55 rating. What I definitely am not a fan of is the little soft plug that goes over the USB-C port - it doesn’t feel exceptionally robust or sturdy and I get the sense this will probably be the first part of the ORP2 that will probably break off for me. So, final thoughts: these are good for the right situation and use case. If you intend to use these for listening with situational awareness at office/work (in a quiet environment), or home, then I think these could absolutely be a great pick for you depending on your exact use-case and daily surrounding environment noise. However if you have any need for noise canceling, this product ain’t it. The Best Buy I went to had a station where you could try out the different Shokz headphones (including this one) with two different songs. One of them was a slow pop kinda song and the other one was a janky country song, but between those songs it gave me a pretty good sense of the range of bass and treble you can get from these, which ultimately did convince to give them a shot, which I am ultimately glad I did. Ok bye

Hi there- Shokz here! Thanks so much for your feedback! We’re excited to share that we’ve just upgraded to the latest firmware version, and it can be updated via the Shokz app for the best experience with your OpenRun Pro 2. There is also a phone setting that may resolve any low volume issues.
1. Turn Off Volume Limit Settings
For iPhone: Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Headphone Safety, switch off the Reduce Loud Audio feature.
For Samsung: Go to Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Volume, click More, and turn off Media Volume Limit.
For other Android phones: Go to the Bluetooth Settings on the phone, find the headphones and make sure that the Absolute Volume feature is switched on for them.
2. Adjust EQ Settings
Connect your headphones to the Shokz App and switch the EQ modes to Vocal or Bass Boost mode.

I gotta say I've always been a closed headphone or earbud guy but these have been a wonderful pair of open ear earbuds that have given me a better understanding of safety because you get the best of both worlds in two packages you can do the bone induction feture they offer and listen threw the bone that links to your ear or can chose from different modes that utilize the speakers that fire into your ear that still allow you to pay attention to your environment and that is what i like about them but one thing to keep in mind i don't like about them is although the speakers are adequate in the sound they punch out don't expect them to work in high volume environments because they are open ear so if they are not for you then don't purchase them the battery life is amazing and the app lets you customize the sound and do custom EQ's of your taste know if your a person who loves the outdoors and runs in the mornings these are a great pair to have because they bring the confort of being aware of your surroundings as you listen to your favorite tunes and i definitely recommend these one thing i almost forgot is the biggest plus these bring over the regular open run the USB C omg this is a major plus as you don't need to carry a flimsy proprietary charging cable who i assume will be hard to replace so having the industry standard is a major plus so go ahead if you want a pair pull the trigger and get them you wont be disappointed they are legit and awesome

lest start by sayin there bone conducting you will not get the same empierce as the in ear or over the ear, there unique and on their own level, for what they are promoting there hitting it right on, durable, comfortable and the thing i like it charges in less than 15m and they last 7+ hours in one charge, love them. you can listen to what ever you like and also hear people talking to you or just ear your soundings.

I tried every single headphone to do workouts and none of them work as easy as this ones. They won’t fall from your head , they sound decently good, even if they are not sticking into your ear. If your focus is running, don’t look any further.

I use these every day. Liked them so much I had to get my wife a set. I’m a locator always working close to heavy traffic roads needing to hear what’s going on around me at all times. With these I can easily take phone calls and never have to stop working. I primarily use my set for phone calls but when listening to music they have great sound quality. Just have to keep in mind that they aren’t as loud as other head phones because of the style head phones they are but they make up for loudness with sound quality. I put this headset on when I wake up and usually don’t take them off until close to the time I go to sleep and I can get a few days off of one charge and even when I do charge them they charge so quick that your not without long when you do have to charge. They are comfortable and never once have I ever worried about them falling off. They are a perfect headset for someone with hearing problems or someone that needs to keep there ears out to listen on the job sight or to listen for kids one of my top favorite headphones I’ve ever owned I’ve had some really good top brands.

I purchased the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones about 6 months ago, and honestly they’ve been excellent. For the prior year I had been struggling to clearly hear conversations on my phone, including when using other headphones, but these made a huge difference. The sound is very clear and I can hear the other person much better during calls. What I love most is that they don’t go in or over your ears. Every pair of headphones I owned before eventually became uncomfortable, especially after wearing them for a while. With these, I can wear them all day and genuinely forget I even have them on. They’ve helped so much with not missing calls anymore, and I also love being able to listen to audiobooks while still hearing what’s going on around me. That open-ear design makes a big difference. Definitely one of the best electronics purchases I’ve made in a long time.

Have had these for a couple weeks now, replacing a pair or original open run pros that ive had for 2 years. I like the usb-c plug and the sound is pretty good. The only issue is the battery does not last like the specs states. After 2 hours of use it says its medium level then another hour goes by and it says to charge them. I rather the previous version much better. That battery lasted all day.
