Much like all Shure MV88 microphones, this version is no different when it comes to how versatile the microphone is for different recording scenarios. Loaded with two separate capsules and an abundance of audio processing, the MV88 can be configured and customized to capture professional audio in almost any situation. Tilt, flip and rotate the microphone up to 90 degrees and switch from video or selfie mode set-ups for perfect audio. Every. Single. Time.
Small enough to fit in your pocket, yet durable enough to withstand the demands of recording on the go; the MV88’s all-metal construction means it’ll stand the test of time. And yes – it’s been rigorously tested and put through Shure’s extensive development process to ensure it’s ready for you – whenever you need it.
The MV88 can truly do it all. Choose from four selectable polar patterns (adjustable stereo, mono cardioid, mono bi-directional and raw mid-side) to record professional audio in almost any situation. From recording ambient sounds, to soundscapes, to spoken word, or even recording music; this tiny mic is ready to take on any challenge.
Imagine never having to adjust mic gain, but it’s always set at the correct level; sound like a big ask? The MV88 utilizes the renowned and powerful Auto Level Mode from our professional podcasting range of microphones, to continuously adjust your mic gain in real time for consistent audio in every recording. A must-have for anyone recording spoken word.
Say goodbye to that annoying background noise that interrupts and – sometimes – completely ruins your recording. Our powerful real-time denoiser DSP can be activated within our MOTIV Video or MOTIV Audio apps and will take care of that pesky background noise with ease. Especially powerful for spoken word recording where it’ll push your voice to the forefront of the recording – ideal when you’re recording on the move in various locations.
This microphone doesn’t need to be just a plug-and-go solution, although it’ll perform just fine out of the box. Should you wish to further tweak and refine your sound, the MV88 comes loaded with a wide range of built-in audio processing such as microphone gain, high pass filter, limiter, compressor, 5 band EQ, plus 5 different presets to get you started.
The free Shure MOTIV Video and MOTIV Audio mobile apps hold the keys to all configuration with the MV88. Grab our apps from the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android, or even configure your microphone on your desktop using the MOTIV Mix desktop app (requires USB-C input).
