[Employee of bestbuy] I have the Shure SM7dB(obviously) paired with a Elgato Wave mic arm, Mogami Gold 6ft XLR cable, and a UA Volt 1 interface. This set ensures that the mic can performto its best ability while still being relatively budgt friendly. The mics outout is extremely crisp and is super nice to use. The pre-amp on the back is very easy to use and is fun to mess around with to get the perfect output. I love this mic, and would definitely buy it again if I had to.

The Shure SM7DB is a very good microphone; you get what you pay for and more. It sounds very good to others, and you can whisper, and people will hear that.

As long as you have the proper equipment to go with the microphone, it's great! works very well with my rodecaster duo. sound quality is great. if you dont need the preamp feature get the regular sm7b for less money but same value.

I love my original SM7B and I could say this is an upgrade. The pre is stronger than the original and I never needed a cloudlifter anyway

[Employee of bestbuy] If you have the SM7B, do not upgrade. If you do not, then buy the SM7DB. Has a built in Preamp which eliminates having to have a device like a cloud lifter. Microphone has the same internals as the regular SM7B.

I purchased this to replace Mv7 but did not notice that much of a difference, only louder with higher gain.

My review is more about Best Buy's return policy. The Mic didn't work for me (manufacture issue of some sort) But Best Buy provided me with a fast in store return as promised. I Highly Recommend Best Buy for fastest, best packaged product delivery and service guarantee.

[Employee of bestbuy] I upgraded from a Shure SM7b to the Shure SM7db, and i can say that there isn't a difference if you already had a cloud lifter and pre-amp/audio interface for the Shure SM7b. I was hoping to have the microphone sound more like a Dynamic microphone and block out background noise effectively, but mine still sounded like a condenser microphone; as did my Shure SM7b.
