About This Item
Brand new 1/24 scale plastic model kit of the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally #10 Winner "Montecarlo Rally" (1980) (Skill 3) by Italeri. The kit comes in a brand new box and features real rubber tires, colorful decal artwork, a color instructions sheet, vintage style packaging, and chrome plated small parts. It is an officially licensed product, and paint and cement are required but not included. The manufacturer's original unopened packaging is included, and the assembled model measures approximately 6.75 inches long. Parts are molded in color unless otherwise indicated, and chrome trim detail can be striped on with silver paint. The Fiat 131 Abarth was built on the frame of the two-door Fiat sedan, with Abarth making modifications to reduce body weight using lighter materials, installing new fenders to accommodate larger wheels, and designing new air-intakes on the hood and sides to optimize cooling. It featured a 4-cylinder longitudinal engine with a light alloy head and 4 valves per cylinder. Built from 1976, the Fiat 131 Abarth competed in the World Rally Championship, achieving three manufacturers’ championships, one pilots’ championship, and one FIA trophy, participating in international competitions until 1982 when it was replaced by Lancia brand cars.
