Q: Does this unit require the Ring base for use, or will it alarm by itself?

Q: Is this magnet slimmer then the one that comes with gen 2 window / door sensor?
A: It is very small, I am not sure next to a gen2 but here is one next to the sensor gen1 and a quarter.
