This is a brand new 1/18 scale diecast model of the Ford GT40 MK.1 RHD (Right Hand Drive) #19 driven by Emilio Marta in the "Angola Championship" (1973) "Competition" Series, produced by Solido. The model comes in its original unopened box and features real rubber tires, steerable wheels, and opening doors. It has detailed interior and exterior elements that faithfully replicate the original vehicle. Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts, the model measures approximately 9.25 inches in length, 4.25 inches in width, and 2 inches in height. This GT40 has a unique history, having been sold to Portuguese driver Emilio Marta in Luanda, Angola, where he competed in three successive seasons of the local championship and won in 1973. Marta continued to drive the GT40 in Portugal until 1979, when he sold it to a Swiss collector. This model now brings that remarkable racing legacy into your 1/18 scale collection.
