4 in the ceiling for a total of a 5.2.4 system, they sound great and look just as well as they sound, straight forward installation..... Great choice...

Great price point for a in ceiling speaker with independently adjustable woofer and tweeter assemblies. Low efficiency but adequate for Atmos as these are not driven as hard and distortion is not as concerning. Have not tested for use as stereo channels. Warmer signature is beautiful and very well constructed with great atention to detail and guality parts. All in all nothing can touch them at this price point. 120$ pair. Would easily place them in the 350-400$ price point.

Exceptional sound for music in main living area (den, living room). Two pair, powered with a Sonos amp. I expected the need for a subwoofer, but the two pair can produce just enough to satisfy; the caveat being that I have the ability to use the Sonos EQ for bass. The cost value comes with the $149 sales tag, versus MSRP.

Purchased when Best Buy dropped price to $149. Clean install, They do what they were designed to do. Affordably do the job. There are better sounding speakers and better built, however the the price point and built are adequate for the application. In ceiling speaker can not equal other speakers, so don't expect them to have any frequencies in the lower range as they were never design for that. They fill in as rear satellites overhead ad no other type of speaker would have passed the wifey approval process, and fill that role very well. I recommend them, especially at that price point. 4 stars because they make much better sounding speaker at 3 times the price.

As others have said, these frequently go on sale, and at that price they are an excellent choice. I have installed dozens of in-ceiling speakers, and these were among the easiest. The magnetic grill cover and the ability to aim to the listener are features you don’t typically see at that price point. They remind me a lot of my trusty Speakercraft Aim speakers.

I received theses speakers very quickly and installation was extremely easy. The speakers are solid, they feel very well made. My house was pre-wired for sound so all I had to do was cut holes in the ceiling and connect these up. The mounting system is great so that you can get the tabs to rest on the drywall and you don’t have to hold the speaker in place any more while you tighten the screws. The magnetic covers are awesome as well. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that I just haven’t been as impressed by the sound as I thought I would be. It could be that I don’t have the calibration quite right or perhaps they are just a little small for the room I have them in. They work great and sound good but we have to crank our receiver up to about 50-75% of max power to get decent volume out. This is a new Yamaha receiver I bought to go with these speakers and should have plenty of power per channel. Still, I’m satisfied with the purchase and would buy these again at the price I paid.

First and foremost thanks for taking time to write and review our speakers. To answer your comment and question about proper calibration and overall volume levels, there are MANY variables that can factor in here (overall room size / volume, wall surfaces, furniture, etc ...). If when you're at 50~75% volume range it's creating enough sound output to be good to great I'd say let it play and enjoy. If you want it to play noticeably louder, I'd recommend adding a subwoofer to your system.

This is a good ceiling mounted speaker. Just know that the back of the speaker is deep and won't fit between walls. Also, the speaker is not encased like some other higher end in wall/in ceiling speakers. Can't beat the price that I got them for over Black Friday. I purchased two sets, but had to return one because the second set did not fit right with my configuration.

Very good speaker for the price. Sounds great and was easy to install. Has a decent bass response and the tweeter was crisp and clear. Was able to run the speakers near max without overloading them. Very happy with my purchase.

I needed a pair of speakers to round out my sound system in my living room. These sound very good although I would have preferred more of the high frequencies because I've got the lows covered with a subwoofer. This speaker is very well built although I didn't care for the clips that make it easy to mount. The same clips make it difficult to remove the speaker from the ceiling, although I cut the speaker holes in a way that all I have to do is loosen the screws, twist the speaker in one direction and it will drop down. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is for Sonance's customer service. I had a question and sent 2 different texts and got no response either time. Hope I never have a REAL problem with the speakers. Aside from customer service, the $150 cost is about what it should be. ( Nowhere near the $400 to $500 range that's supposed to be regular price). I would recommend the speaker for the speaker but not for customer service.

I bought 4 of these speakers to replace my existing floor speakers in a 7.1 system. Floor speakers were getting knocked over constantly by kids, so I went to the ceiling with these. Installation was simple and they sound good. For the price, it was hard to beat the features and capability. I'm still working on adjusting the output but i chalk that up to my receiver and not the speakers themselves. The directional feature of the speakers is really a nice option. Overall, I'd buy them again.

My family loves these speakers. I put one in each bedroom, yes one and it sounds great. I can play music through the entire home and bedtime stories for the kids.

Great sound for the price, easy to install. This is my third set. Have two sets in side and one outside that has been there for 5 plus years with no issues. Got them for around $100.

I bought 2 of these speakers a while ago and was happy with the quality of the speakers. I ended up buying 2 more few days. For the price I found this product very good.

These are really nice for the price. I replaced builder grade speakers and the sound quality is much improved. I can actually sit and listen to these like I would decent floor speakers so they're not just for background. The only issue I had was that they were slightly bigger than the ones I replaced so I had to do a little drywall cutting.

Super easy to install. I love how both the woofer and the tweeter are adjustable. I have 4 of these for my dolby Atmos setup. Also, I am looking in to getting covers for the back to keep the sound contained. They are available through Sonance dealers for $45 pair. Would be 5 stars if they were included.

We here at Sonance really appreciate your feedback, and are always looking at ways to improve what we offer to our customers. If we could "include" our in-ceiling back covers at no additional charge we would, but ... what we've learned over the past 35-years is that not all in-ceiling installations need a back cover. This s why the are an option at an additional cost. Thanks again for the feedback.
