I’m little bit surprised about the performance of my product. I thought the quality was beyond expectations unfortunately it was not the case. I’m very disappointed. A year later when I play my music, it’s often disconnected to WiFi.

We are truly sorry to hear about the connectivity issues you’re experiencing with your Sonos Ray. We completely understand your frustration, especially when you had high expectations for your product and it’s not meeting them.
To help resolve the Wi-Fi disconnection issue, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check Wi-Fi Network: Ensure your router is running the latest firmware, and the signal is strong. For best performance, place your Sonos Ray within range of your router.
Reboot the Router and Ray: Sometimes a simple reboot of both your Sonos Ray and the router can restore connectivity.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi: In the Sonos app, you can remove and reconnect your Ray to your Wi-Fi network by going to "Settings" > "System" > "Network" > "Wireless Setup."
Wi-Fi Interference: If there are many devices connected to your Wi-Fi or physical obstructions, it may affect the Ray’s connection. Try moving the Ray closer to the router or reducing the number of devices using Wi-Fi.
If these steps don't solve the issue, we recommend reaching out to Sonos Support at support.sonos.com for more detailed assistance. We truly appreciate your feedback and are committed to helping resolve this issue for you. Thank you for your patience!

Sounds amazing and fits in small spaces perfectly. The connectivity suuuucccks. You options are WiFi, optical, or Apple. You need to use the app to control it and only the app. So when they drop the app your speaker is useless. Oh and I picked it up out of the clearance bin. If I paid full price it would have been a single star review.

Like the sound but no remote. It is a hassle to set up. Best Buy store reps recommend this but leave out the fact this doesn’t work with many remotes. I chatted with a Sonos rep who assisted me with troubleshooting only to be told the remote issue is a known issue to the engineers that’ll be fixed. I see old reviews from a year ago so apparently this isn’t going to be fixed. For the price of this item it should have a remote or hdmi

I bought it as a very good open box. It worked amazing if I wanted a Bluetooth speaker. The optical connection was broke and should have been something they caught when checking it out. So I had to drive all the way back into town to return it. After they told me it checked out good. If it had worked I would recommend it. Tough review to do really.

The only way to control the volume is via the Sonos app or via an old school IR remote. This does not have HDMI-CEC so "All-In-One Soundbar" is misleading. For this reason it is not compatible with an AppleTV remote. I returned it for a cheaper soundbar that an AppleTV remote could be used to control the volume (i.e. any soundbar with HDMI-CEC)

As a fan of Sonos products it pains me to write this review. When I compare this to a similarly priced Sonos One, the Sonos Ray leaves much to be desired. The sound is just weaker in every regard despite having a larger footprint. The sound is also very directional and not enveloping. If you sit off to the side you are not going to have the most pleasant experience. I do understand the attractive entry point, but no HDMI connectivity in 2022 is unacceptable and too much of a cost cutting move. Sonos Ray gains one star for me because of the easy set up and integration to the Sonos network. A remote would have been nice as the system does not have arc or earc but not the biggest deal for tech savvy people. If you do not like the idea of using your smartphone or ipad to control volume then I'd stay away. If you plan on using this for music, I'd buy one Sonos One to begin with and then pick up another Sonos One to get full stereo experience. If you plan on using this for movies and TV - spend the extra cash and buy the Beam Gen 2, it is worthy upgrade without being as expensive as the top tier Arc version. Sadly the Sonos Ray ended up being a return for me which is a shame.

Thank you for the review. We will take this into consideration. Worth noting, you can use the IR remote your tv came with. No need to use the app to control volume or include another remote when you have one already :) - That being said, we're sorry you don't love your Sonos Ray.

thought would have a remote, not just use my cell phone to change volumn.

Would not play nicely with fire stick universal remote. Had to lift arm with remote high up in the air for it to pick up the signal.

Recently purchased the Sonos Ray soundbar with a new SmartTV for our home gym. This is not Bluetooth, it's WiFi. Setup was a pain and you're forced to use their APP. After first time using and setting up with our home WiFi, the sound is decent. You have to use the APP to control the sound volume (which is inane because if you are working out, you need one remote control for the TV, your phone APP for the sound). Not sure why you can't control the sound volume using the TV remote if you set up with that TV. The last few times we wanted to use, you have to manually turn on and manually use the sound bar to control the volume because the stupid APP would not connect to the sound bar. It is incredibly frustrating for the high price and headache because it's not truly streamlined for using on a consistent basis.

Horrible soundbar; I wish I was never talked into buying this one over a Bose soundbar. Aside from looking sleek and having an easy setup, there’s nothing positive about this speaker. There is a tin/metallic noise on loud sounds, and the dialogue is muffled most times. No amount of adjusting the bass or treble has resolved this. I have done plenty of troubleshooting with Sonos through their customer service without any resolution. Not worth the money, and a miserable experience. I’m never purchasing a Sonos product again.

I was not happy with my purchase and returned it. I didn't know much about sound bars when I purchased and unfortunately I don't think my salesperson did either. The big thing - this did not have a HDMI arc connection so it wouldn't connect to TV easily and sound was not as good as it could have been. The Geek Squad guy that came to our home was extremely helpful and explained all things sound bar to us and ended up with a sound bar that connected well to our TV and had amazing sound.

I had high hopes for this, it wasnt as easy to set up as they say, There is no remote with it, yes i get you use your phone, but i dont want to pull out my phone when i already have a remote in my hand. Also it does not go nearly loud enough. We have kids, not loud kids but there is background noise and this just couldnt be loud enough to fill my livingroom not a large rivingroom either. Getting it to work with my apple tv was a pain. I couldnt find directions on how to pair bluetooth. So in conclusion, it meh, maybe for some in a small quiet space with the right tv

Difficult to use with Sony tv; can’t use tv remote to adjust volume. volume

It's not bad sounding, it doesn't get overly loud. However, our Samsung TV can match the sound bar, and more often than not, we just use the TV sound. IN addition, it DOES NOT have a remote included. The only way to really control the device is with an app on my phone. Again, kind of a pain. I had high hope for the device, but ultimately am going to replace it with another brand.

Wouldn’t pair with TV. Tried multiple times troubleshooting the issue. Eventually just returned it. Read that others had this issue too. Was a Black Friday deal that wasn’t much of a deal.

Purchased along with 50" TV for master bedroom. I did not realize at the time that the Ray does not support HDMI, which probably would have made me reconsider. After wasting several hours struggling and failing to get the TV to recognize the optical connection, I made another 45 minute trek to BB and exchanged it for a Bose. Live and learn!
