I have high expectations of the Sonos brand and this product does not change my overall impression of their products. So you may be wondering why I have 4/5 in my review and that exclusively pertains to the fact that I bought a good rated product and was surprised that some features do not work the way they should. The lights don’t work, there were more scratches than anticipated and it was so dusty I almost returned the item. The “Sonos” logo is supposed to light up during install but that individual issue was not related to the anticipated function of the system. It would have been really easy to setup had the light worked. I had to reset the system and those directions were also easy to follow. Again, always reliable and the sound is always amazing as well. Although disappointed in the state of the unit, the product itself reminds me why the Sonos products are well worth the cost.

Provides low frequencies arc ultra can’t. Too bad Sonos doesn’t support non-proprietary subs, as you could get better subs for less $$$

Great sound. SONOS still needs to work on the app. A little clunky and has some issues with crashing or messing up the music.

Good bass. Adequate for a 20' x 16' room. Move up if you are not on a budget or your room size is larger.

Good sound. Setup is a bit annoying. It lost connection when I connected the Amp to Ethernet. I had to unplug the Ethernet and use Wifi again.

This is a very good subwoofer. Bought to match our Sonos beam gen 2 in our bedroom and its performance is excellent. Very tight bass that is punchy. It’s not super deep like they advertised at 25 hz, from listening it seems to drop off -3db more like 35. The best part of this sub its size to bass output and haven't heard a sub this small sound this good before. Biggest issue is the price, this and the beam are very expensive but compact and premium. So I suggest buying on sale, then it’s a great value

After much research reading reviews on what others thought I purchased the beam and mini sub for my living room. My living room has vaulted ceilings and is semi open. There is a wall between kitchen and living room but it stops where the dining room starts. Set up was easy but I had to turn the mini sub up to 10 before I realized it was working. I now have it set on 6. I’m not a big time bass person but at the same time hearing base on a tv show or movie just makes it better. I have an Arc on order for my family room in the basement. I was going to order a mini sub because of the reviews I read but now I will be ordering the sub 4 for the family room. Family room is the main place I watch tv. The mini sub will work for the living room as a casual place but I don’t think it would work for my family room where the majority of movies and sports is watched. I will likely get the era 300 for the family room too. Will not get surround sound for the living room. The beam works great in that space.

As someone who appreciates both aesthetics and performance in home audio equipment, I recently invested in the Sonos Sub Mini. I am delighted to share my experience with this compact subwoofer that has not only met but exceeded my expectations. Design & Build Quality The first thing that caught my eye was the Sub Mini’s design. Its dimensions are just perfect for a living room setup, boasting what I’d call a ‘spouse-friendly design’. It blends seamlessly into our living space without being obtrusive. The build quality is impressive – it has a noticeable heft to it, indicating a well-constructed and durable unit. Sound Performance The sound quality of the Sub Mini is where it truly shines. The bass is tight and potent enough to shake walls, adding a new dimension to our movie nights. Watching films like “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Jurassic Park”, and “The Matrix” was a thrilling experience, with every explosion and soundtrack feeling more immersive. Even in family movies like “The Polar Express”, the Sub Mini brought out deep notes in the locomotive scene that we had never noticed before. Despite its powerful output, the unit has no noticeable vibrations – a testament to its solid build. User Experience Setting up the Sub Mini initially presented some challenges. However, the issue was promptly resolved with a quick call to Sonos support, who were incredibly helpful and efficient. Room Compatibility I use the Sub Mini in my living room, which is approximately 18x14 feet with an opening to the dining area. The Sub Mini fills this space effortlessly with rich, detailed bass. I highly recommend utilizing Trueplay tuning to optimize the sound for your specific room layout. Final Thoughts The Sonos Sub Mini is an excellent addition to most living room setups. Its combination of compact design, robust build quality, and exceptional sound performance makes it a standout product. For anyone looking to enhance their home audio experience without compromising on space or aesthetics, the Sonos Sub Mini comes highly recommended.

Are yo on the fence about this unit? in the store you will not e able to hear how nice this sub is. This unit pairs really nice with the Beam, its no house shaker but it delivers a crisp deep bass that brings volume to the room. Pro. Great sound Looks amazing Easy to set up Con Expensive, but you get what you pay for. It fills the space but it won't shake it.

If you’re on the fence about whether a smaller sub can actually deliver, let me save you the trouble: it absolutely does. I’ve been using the Sonos Sub Mini for a while now, and the way it brings audio to life is nothing short of impressive. Why It’s a Game Changer • Depth Without the Bulk: It doesn’t just add "loudness"—it adds richness. It handles the low-end frequencies with such precision that my main speakers are suddenly free to focus on the mids and highs, making the entire soundstage feel wider and more immersive. • Zero Distortion: The dual force-canceling woofers are the real deal. Even when I crank up a bass-heavy track or an action movie, there’s no cabinet buzz or rattle. It’s just clean, punchy bass. • Aesthetic & Ease: Sonos nailed the design. It’s sleek, cylindrical, and fits into the room without looking like a giant black box. Plus, the setup took all of two minutes through the app. Final Verdict Whether you’re watching a blockbuster or just vibing to your favorite playlist, this sub provides that "feel it in your chest" moment without taking over your living room. It’s the perfect upgrade for anyone looking to round out their home theater setup. Highly recommended!

An absolute necessity for a large room. To get the full benefit of the Sonos Arc Ultra. The sub 3 will not cut it with Sonos arc Ultra. I tried to save and had to return the 3. It is paired for this sub woofer. The design is great. The sound is very good for a sound bar sub woofer. If you think the ultra arc will cover it all without the subwoofer, you are mistaken. The sub picks up all the bass upper bass to complete the system.

Easy setup and pairs easily with Sonos ERA 100. Adds some low end sound, but not overpowering and consistent with size of speakers.

The Sonos Sub Mini is pretty good. Depending on your room size it works very well. I have it in the office and it works well. Even though it is pretty expensive it is worth the $$$. For a main TV room system I would recommend the Sub Gen 3 (which is $370 more). The setup is very easy - all Sonos products are very easy to set up using the FREE downloaded app SONOS (IOS).

I have been waiting for many years to get in to the Sonos family of products. I recently and very excitedly purchased the Arc (non ultra) and this Sub 4 from Best Buy and the combo is great - but I’m genuinely surprised that no other review has mentioned that the Arc already has so much bass on its own that the Sub 4 doesn’t do much until you’ve got the settings to +3 or more. If you love overpowered bass - and many people do - this sub can deliver that.. but I like strong and smooth bass, not just over-the-top loud. In fact, when listening to music I can usually turn the sub off and have it be more enjoyable, as the Arc on its own produces such excellently balanced sound - including the low frequencies - without the subwoofer. If I were doing the sequence of purchasing again for my Sonos buildout knowing and having experienced all of this now - I would still want the sub 4, but I wouldn’t have prioritized it over getting surround speakers, like the Era 100 or Era 300 speakers. I would have got the Sub last. Now, in movies does it make a difference? Yes - especially in action sequences with explosions. But… the ARC really isn’t slacking. You’ll still have a fantastic action movie experience without the sub. I do mean really great.. there’s nothing marginal about the Arc performance on its own. In short, though the Sub Gen 4 is a great, seamless product that is a cherry on a cake type of addition, the Arc is already so good that if I were needing to add more bass I’d just start with surrounds first. Hope this helps!
