When it works it sounds great. I bought this to replace and old soundbar when I upgraded my TV to a Sony Bravia 9. I even bought a preium 8k HDMI 2.1 cable and it has been nothing but trouble. Seems like the eARC HDMI handshake is garbage because it will constantly switch from the audio system to the tv speakers and I have to keep switching it back, Then after a while I ave to restart everything. Even then, there are times I have to unplug everything and reset the whole system only for it to go out eventually. This is especially true when I use the PS5. I am beyond annoyed. I've had both for less than a week. If it wasn't such a hassle, I would have returned it by now. Stay away. It almost feels like Sony is forcing me to buy the top of the line soundbar. It's just for my living room. I already have a home theater with the big screen projector and full theater sound system. I don't need that in my living room. I just wanted a decent sound system; sound system that is better than tv speakers.

Hi Hector,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we are incredibly sorry for the frustration this has caused. Buying a brand-new setup should be an exciting upgrade, not a daily headache of unplugging cables and restarting systems just to get audio.
To help fix these connection drops and get your system stable, we’d love to suggest a few quick steps that usually clear up these HDMI handshake issues:
1- Check the HDMI Port: Make sure your premium cable is connected to the correct eARC port on the back of your BRAVIA 9. This is specifically located on HDMI Port 3.
2- Enable BRAVIA Sync: Turning this on allows the TV and soundbar to talk to each other properly and stay in sync.
On the TV: Go to Settings > Channels & inputs > External inputs > BRAVIA Sync Settings and make sure everything is turned on.
On the Soundbar: Go to Settings > HDMI Settings > Control for HDMI and set it to ON.
3- Update the TV Software: Handshake glitches are often fixed with a quick update. On your TV, go to Settings > System > About > System software update to make sure you have the latest version.
If you try these out and the audio still keeps dropping, we want to look into this deeper for you. Please reach out to our technical team directly so we can run some further diagnostics and get this sorted out for you:

I got this sound bar no even 2 months ago and the subwoofer stops working, I took it to the Best Buy in Braintree and they said is going to take 4 to 6 weeks to repair. I paid $650 for this …. No more Sony and no more Best Buy.

Sounds great when the sub works. shuts on and off. I have to hit the side of it to get it to come on then it shuts off a few minutes later then repeat.

Hi Zimm,
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear you love the sound of the BRAVIA Theater Bar 6 when it’s up and running, but we are incredibly sorry to hear about these power issues. We’d love to help you get this fixed, so here are a few troubleshooting steps to try:
-Make sure the power cord is pushed all the way into the back of the bar and the wall outlet.
-Plug the bar directly into a wall socket instead of a power strip to rule out a faulty surge protector.
-Unplug the bar from the wall for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
-Check that the ventilation holes on the subwoofer are not blocked.
-Reset the subwoofer. Press and hold LINK on the subwoofer for more than 10 seconds.

If it keeps shutting off, please reach out to our support team right away.

So far I’m not very impressed with the sound. Perhaps I have not set it up correct in settings.

Hi ScottT,
We're sorry to hear you're not fully impressed with the sound of your HT-B600 right out of the box. That's definitely not what we want for you and it's a great possibility that a few changes in the settings could make a huge difference.
Here are a couple of things you can check right now:
-The HT-B600 usually has several sound modes (like Cinema, Music, Standard, or Auto). Try cycling through these to see if one better suits your content and personal preference.
-If voices are hard to hear, look for the "Night mode" feature in your sound settings. This can help bring dialogue forward.
Additional information is available at the link below.

If needed, please don't hesitate to reach out to our dedicated Sony support team. They can walk through the exact setup and settings of your HT-B600 with you step-by-step.
