First of all these are not comfortable, that thin plastic portion is constantly resting on the back of my neck and requires frequent repositioning. Second, literally these are just two speakers, very loud, and anyone sitting next to you will hear everything, but when maxing out sound, then anyone even a rokm away will hear everything. Thirdly, sound is not balanced, there is no surround sound at all, i even tried dolby sound videos, literally just feels like one speak on both sides, and these speakers appear to be trying to hard to push out big sound when in reality they are probably tiny. Fourthly, bass is somewhat there, but it fulky disappears by overly pushed other sounds. I played around with settings in the app, but result is exactly the same. These are not tiny, its like two long bulky speakers resting on each side of my shoulder, additionally they become useless when being in any other position but either sitting or standing straight up. My overall experience of these to sum it up is a product thats not powerful enough but just trying too hard to be simething they are not.

I have tried to pair HTAN7 wearable speakers with 3 different Samsung TVs and a Windows 10 PC with no success. Neither the Samsung TVs nor the PC will even see the HTAN7 as an available Bluetooth device, but my Android cell phone has no problem connecting and working with the Sony Sound Connect App. The HTAN7 will connect to our cell phones, but not the TV it was purchased to be used with. The speakers sound great through the phone which makes it all the more disappointing that it won't work with the TV. Apparently the HTAN7 Sony speakers only support a newer feature of Bluetooth that is almost impossible for customers to verify whether their TV supports it or not. Nowhere on the product information does Sony say that this product ONLY works with A2DP supported Bluetooth devices. You have to dig through the questions to discover the product requires A2DP to work. Even then Sony tells the consumer to figure out if their Bluetooth devices are compatible with A2DP. Most TVs have scant information about Bluetooth other than the version the hardware supports. We have tried on hardware that 4.2 and 5.2 versions of Bluetooth with no success. Can Sony update the firmware to support a more compatible Bluetooth connection? Otherwise, Sony should change the product specifications and advertising to make clear that ONLY A2DP Bluetooth devices will work with this product. There are hundreds of thousands of TVs this speaker could work with if it offered a more compatible Bluetooth connection (even if this limits some of the features). Otherwise I have to take these back because HTAN7 are not working with most of our Bluetooth supported equipment. Our equipment works fine with other Bluetooth connected devices. Is there anything else Sony can do to help with this problem?

Hi KevinG,
We understand that you are experiencing difficulties pairing your BRAVIA Theater U to your Bluetooth devices. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. If the TV you are using supports the BLUETOOTH profiles for music playback (A2DP), then you can connect the neckband speaker to your TV via a BLUETOOTH connection and listen to the TV audio on the neckband speaker. To Bluetooth pair your BRAVIA Theater U (HT-AN7) to a compatible TV, follow these steps:
1. Set the neckband speaker to pairing mode.
To pair a second and subsequent TVs (if the neckband speaker has pairing information for other devices)
- While the power is off, press and hold the (power)/(BLUETOOTH) button for about 5 seconds until you hear a notification sound and voice guidance (Pairing). The neckband speaker enters pairing mode, and the (power)/(BLUETOOTH) indicator double flashes in blue. If your neckband speaker fails to go into pairing mode, repeat this step as necessary.
2. Operate the TV to connect the neckband speaker via a BLUETOOTH connection.
- Make sure the Bluetooth is turned on, then select the BRAVIA Theater U from the list of available devices. If the BRAVIA Theater U is not showing as an available device, click pair new device. and then select it.
- If your device asks for a password or pin, enter "0000".
- When the BLUETOOTH connection is complete, you hear a notification sound from the neckband speaker and the (power)/(BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes in blue.
ensure that the speaker and TV have the latest firmware updates and that no other Bluetooth devices are currently connected to the speaker.
For more details, please visit this help guide: https://helpguide.sony.net/ht/7861/v1/en/contents/TP1001326162.html
3. If the issue isn't resolved, try resetting or initializing the neckband speaker.
You can also watch the video on this link to learn how to Bluetooth pair to a compatible TV (the same steps will work for most Bluetooth devices as well): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yWjOOxoxus
Note:
- If you have it paired to multiple devices, it can sometimes switch when you power on a second device. If you haven't yet, try enabling the Multi-device connection via the Sony Sound Connect app.
- If you're having trouble connecting, the neckband speaker may be connected to another Bluetooth device. Make sure the neckband speaker are disconnected from the other Bluetooth device, then pair the headphones and the desired device again. You can also check your TV's manual to see if you need to change the audio output method to PCM.

My initial experience was great, but halfway through my second song I started hearing random popping noises semi regularly. It doesn't sound like a blown speaker popping issue, but I think is related to the bluetooth connection. Needless to say have random popping noises semi regularly completely ruins the experience of using these and I'd be better off just listening on my phone speaker. Disappointing product.

Hi Philip,
Thanks for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that you're having disconnection issues with your HT-AN7.
We're here to help and would be happy to provide some troubleshooting steps to get this resolved.
1) Make sure your source device (phone, TV, etc.) supports the required Bluetooth profiles (A2DP for audio).
2) Move the speaker and source device closer together and away from other wireless devices or metal objects that could cause interference.
3) Delete the HT-AN7 from your device’s Bluetooth list, then re-pair by following the pairing instructions: With the speaker off, press and hold the power/Bluetooth button for about 2 seconds (for first-time pairing) or about 5 seconds (if it has previous pairings) until you hear a notification sound and the indicator flashes blue.
4) Ensure your speaker and any related apps (such as Sony | Sound Connect) are updated to the latest version, as software updates can resolve connectivity issues. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/speakers-wireless-speakers/ht-an7/software/00343894
5) If the above steps do not work, initialize the speaker by following these instructions: https://helpguide.sony.net/ht/7861/v1/en/contents/TP1001309057.html
If you follow these steps and the issue persists, we strongly suggest you to contact our support team for further assistance. Find their contact information here: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=car

Despite having a Bravia TV that’s only two years old, it requires a Sony adapter to get the for the Bravia-U. The adapter doesn’t come with the neck band, and is sold out pretty much everywhere, and possibly discontinued.

Hi Coops, We are sorry to hear that you had issues with the HTAN7 pairing with your Sony TV and had to return the unit. The HTAN7 should pair with TV's that support Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). We hope that you consider Sony again in your future purchases.
