This Neckband speaker is awesome. I have family so i can't just put on my headset because I always have to pay attention to what is happening in the house when im either watching a movie or playing video games. And compared to the last generation Sony Neck band this one has and aux cord so i can plug in to my xbox, switch or PS5. That is a big game changer for me because with regular speaker you dont get that immersive detail like you do with a headset but this does. My only complaint with this neck band which makes me give it a 3 star instead of a 5 star is that its has 2 draw backs compared to last generations sony neck band. That is that first its not as loud as the SRS-NS7 they are smaller and dont pack as big of a punch as the last generation and the 2nd one is that they are built a lot cheaper. The SRS-NS7 was a lot sturdier and it wasnt flimsy and this new model you have to continuously adjust it to your neck because its just to flimsy. Its so good and I want to give it a 5 start because I use it every day for movies and gaming but those two things just don't let me hopefully next generations they improve those two things and itll be 5 stars easy.

Decent audio for podcasts and tv shows, but if you’re expecting magic out of these things, don’t bother. They’re just basic speakers with weak bass. The 3D doesn’t really work that well because the channels always seem slightly out of sync making me feel like I’m in an echo chamber instead of sound bubble.

Very confusing to setup. Once it is connected sometimes it is easy to adjust, other times it cannot be adjusted. This could also be the TV that I use the device with. It may take me time to learn how to get it right without too much trouble.

Pretty good sounds, but sometimes it has trouble being in sync with the TV which can be very annoying. This is very nice for people who don't feel comfortable using headphones or something like that!

Sound is Acceptable but too Expensive for the Sound Quality.

Hi ChaseSoon,
Thank you for your feedback. To get the most out of your investment, we highly recommend downloading the Sony | Headphones Connect App.
Within the app, please ensure you enable the 'Prioritize Sound Quality' setting. This allows the device to utilize AAC and LDAC™ codecs rather than just standard SBC, providing a much higher resolution for your music. Additionally, you can use the Built-in Equalizer to manually boost or cut specific bass, midrange, or treble frequencies to suit your personal preference. We're confident these adjustments will significantly enhance your listening experience!
Thank you for considering Sony!
Best regards,
Dominick

Good product, kind of underwhelming though. Also I was hoping to use it kinda personally where it wouldn’t bother others as much but even a lower volume is still very detectable by others

Thank you for your feedback on the HTAN7, ThresusH. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We are glad to hear that you find the product to be of good quality. However, we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the volume level.
Please note that the HTAN7 model is designed to deliver clear and powerful sound, even at lower volumes. For a more personalized audio experience, we recommend making use of the Sony Music Center app. It provides various tools to adjust the settings and optimize the sound to your preferences, including an EQ feature which can help reduce the detectability of lower volumes for others.
If you continue to experience issues or have any other concerns, feel free to reach out to our support team. We are here to help!
Thank you for choosing Sony!

Overrated way to have surround sound -- for the price, it does not do anything different than a pair of cheap speakers

Here is my review of the Sony - HTAN7 BRAVIA Theater U upon which I rate 3 out of 5 stars. Out of the box the device comes at the forefront in its packaging with the reference guide and accessory cables located beneath the first layer. As for the cables, you get one USB-A to USB-C charging cable and one audio cable for connecting your PC or game console. To get started, fully charge the device and while doing so, download the Sony Headphones Connect App. This app will allow you to take pictures of your external ear geometry to customize your sound experience. The app also has equalizer settings for both custom and presets. As for listening to music, it is highly recommended to utilize the Amazon Music app to access music encoded as ULTRA HD w/Dolby ATMOS. From here you can listen to music in 360 Spatial Sound. My go-to is Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon". While I listened to this album, there were some immediate discoveries which I will list. Sound needs to be turned up to 3/4th to full volume to totally surround yourself in music. At lower volumes you just don't get the envelopment of sound. Also at this loud volume, it wreaks havoc with anyone sitting in the same room let alone sitting next to you, and a 1-star reduction in its rating. If you are looking to listen to music, you may find yourself sitting in a room alone or using a much lower volume than you prefer and at the same time sacrifice the 360 spatial sounds. Even though there was much clarity and spatial surround sound, there was the lack of bass, a big miss for me, and a 1-star reduction in its rating. Sony probably would need to add two additional speakers to capture the base but not sure if this would cause a displeasing bass thump or vibration on one's neck. As for listening to TV, I paired it to my Sony 85" Bravia XR X95K via Bluetooth. The sound of the TV in this device was really not much different than listening to music so I see no real need to provide further information. The experience in sound quality and lack of bass was still the same. So, in my summary of this product, it isn't a replacement of a good surround sound system or good headphones or earbuds. I'm not quite sure anyone will really have the, "I've got to have this" type of moment. When things fall short of annoying others sitting in a room while I watch TV or listen to music, I have to think of other reasons why one may like this product outside of me. If you don't like wearing headphones or want to have the ability to hear others around you, you may like this product. In closing, having a horseshoe shaped device priced at $299.99 around your neck needs to produce in my opinion, a WOW moment/factor. I just wish it did, but Sony left me disappointed. I hope you enjoyed reading my review and it helped you in your purchasing decision.
