Mainly bought for playing games ,since I dont like to have my ears covered. It would be better if was able to paired wireless with the ps5. Actually I play multilayer games using a 3.5 wiremic and works fine.

-– Summary: — Surprisingly great wearable speaker! Great sound, easy to use and very comfortable. Much better than using headphones or earbuds while watching TV. The only situation I found annoying was that after having paired it with 2 TVs, everytime I used the speaker on one TV and another person would turn the other TV on, it kept connecting to that other TV, leaving that other person without sound and wondering what happened, and leaving me listening to the other TV. Other reviewers say there’s an app you can use to disconnect from the TV you’re not using to make sure it won’t automatically connect, but I didn’t test that. — Pros — - Great sound! Even if your TV is not compatible with the 360 Spatial Sound (mine wasn’t), the sound is very immersive and certainly feels that it comes from multiple places when watching a movie. A much better experience than wearing headphones or earbuds which is what I hoped and I was pleasantly surprised that was the case without a doubt! - Very comfortable. I could use it for hours sitting down or standing and forget I was wearing it. I probably couldn’t wear it for over an hour while lying down but even then it didn’t feel as uncomfortable as I thought it would. - Not silent but very quiet! When someone is wearing it, others can barely hear the sound. This actually solved an issue my wife and I were having with our 7 year-old son who would shush us for speaking too loudly while he’d watch cartoons, right before proceeding to turn the TV volume way up. Earbuds wouldn’t work as they tend to fall off his tiny ears. When I placed this speaker on his shoulders, he loved it and no more arguments. We were all happy getting what each of us wanted: the adults wouldn’t be interrupted by a loud TV; and our kid wouldn’t be annoyed by not being able to hear due to adults talking loudly! - Great battery life! I used it for a few days for a total of maybe 7 to 8 hours, mainly watching movies, and the speaker was still going strong! Sony claims you can get up to 12 hours and up to 60 minutes of playback on a 10-minute charge! This is fantastic! - It’s nice to know that the speaker add function makes it possible to pair two BRAVIA Theater U’s at the same time so I can enjoy a TV show or movie with someone else. I didn’t test this though. - All the control buttons (power on, pause, volume up/down, mute) are nicely on the inside of the speaker. I definitely appreciated the convenience of pausing/playing without having to use the TV remote. — Good to know — - If you really want the “360 Spatial Sound” feature, make sure you have a compatible TV. I thought mine was compatible because it was a Sony Bravia but didn’t pay attention to the models. It turns out mine is Sony Bravia A95K (not compatible) instead of the very similar model “A95L” (compatible, among others). - If you have 2 TVs like me, beware that if you pair the speaker to both TVs, and you use one TV while someone else might use the other TV at the same time, the speaker might switch to connect to the other TV even if it’s further away! I wish it was smart enough to connect to the TV that is nearer. Other reviewers say there’s an app you can use to disconnect from the TV you’re not using to make sure it won’t automatically connect, but I didn’t test that.

[Employee of bestbuy] This is a life changer for starters. You kinda don't want to go anywhere without them, and they become an essential accessory just like your phone! This has replaced all my earphones at the moment and gives me what I look for to enjoy music while still being around others. I'm aware they're made for TV listening, but please don't look at this point of view. It's for everything, especially music. The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that the lack of bass and call quality can be better. I'm aware bass would make people neck shake, but I just know Sony will figure something out to make a difference in the next model. If 100% being maximum bass is loudest, I think Sony can give us 40% improvements for bass for future releases, I'm not even a bass head let alone my dad and he mentioned that right away which surprised me. The call quality doesn't seem like something that is needed to improve in the next model since it seems software limitations on calls are making it questionable. During those calls, you can hear people through the speakers but the loudness and clarity isn't there which makes no sense since TV & music audio is crystal clear and loud to point that they become noise cancelation which is pretty cool (okay I did notice through streaming apps on my Samsung S24 Ultra that some movies seems a little muffled and not as clear) otherwise everything is great! I'm also impressed that you can put these down a table or hang it somewhere and they become a portable speaker loud enough for a large room to enjoy, that was a crazy highlight of a feature so Thank You Sony for that! (Please don't get crazy and lower the volume on these for future models for the sake of cost-cutting, the muti-purpose is amazing) I would like to mention that the Sony headphone connect app is awesome with its built-in Equalizer, so take advantage of that as well! (Sony would be nice if they took some pages from Sennheiser Equalizer app), but yes, pretty impressive device being a 2nd generation model and the price is worth it. Some great deals to get an awesome price on these, too, but give them a try! Won't regret! I look forward to a 3rd generation model in a few years with expected improvements, Thank You!

This is actually a neat device. Connected easily, and stayed connected. Sound was nice. But it can be heard for quite a distance. I wanted a device that only I could hear. Exchanged for ear buds. BUT. It's a nice device if it fits your needs.

Battery life is very good. Sound is great for watching movies and shows. I use it with my iPad and it is convinient to step away from the screen and still hear the sound crystal clear. Only thing I would wish they would improve is for music with deep bass where it sort of lacks umph pass the 50 to 60% volume. Other than that, the device is very good for around the house or perhaps an apartment where you can’t have too much clutter or noise that would disturb your neighbors. Recommended!

[Employee of bestbuy] It sounds pretty good for a speaker you wear around your neck, however I do question it's practicallity. I could see more people using this as a gaming speaker for their pc rather than a "TV speaker". It's good and does the job. I found it was relatively comfy for my neck, however my case does not guarantee yours. Honestly, I don't see myself recommending this to a friend.

All in All pleased. Good sound reproduction, Comfortable to wear. Easliy syncs to my Bravia and Apple TV. Only "complaint". (not really) is they are a little louder than expected. I expected them to project the sound directly to the ears, where no one else near could hear them. Like the Bose used to do. These can easily be heard by those in the next room.

I got these since I stay up late nights for work & when I'm home I cant have Loudness after 10 for older parents in next room. I liked the High quality sound & materials used. But I didnt feel much bass & lacked any option to boost the sound on unit. So for the original cost of $350 I can't recommend at all. But since I got them Mint in box for half cost then it's Good enough to jave them for many hours later nights. Music sounded good from my android with Bluetooth HD codecs for near CD quality. I hope this helps you decide to get even to try.

I honeslty didn’t know what it was or that i needed it since i bought it out of impulse, but man was it worth it, the sound quality is super clear at all volume levels and its super lightweight. there were several times that i forgot i had it on. plus its very breathable so i had no issue with it feeling hot or making me sweat at all. The reasons why i give it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is that the charger cord is way to short and it doesnt come with a carrying case. overall, its a high quality device thats worth the money.

Good sound, works as advertised. Great alternative to headphones when you're not feeling like wearing them. Sounds can be heard if you're in the same room, but drops quickly with distance. Bass could be a bit more punchy, but great detail in the sound.

I got this hoping I could hear the TV better while watching with my husband. My problem is that there is a slight echo if the tv is not turned down enough that I can't also hear it. My brother uses his successfully so maybe I can get used to it. I do like it if I am the only one listening in the room. Very clear and distinct if tv is turned low enough.

Hi CherylS,
We are glad to hear you are enjoying the clarity of the BRAVIA Theater U! Regarding the echo when using it alongside your TV speakers, this is often caused by a slight processing delay between Bluetooth and the TV’s internal audio. If you have a compatible BRAVIA TV, we recommend checking for an "A/V Sync" or "Bluetooth Delay" setting in the audio menu to align the sound. Alternatively, connecting via the included wired transmitter (if applicable to your setup) can significantly reduce latency compared to a direct Bluetooth connection.
Thanks for choosing Sony.
Best regards,
Eliab

I wish the sides could mold around your neck as well, but it works very well. People with hearing aids will love this. It's so much better than turning up the volume all the way.

I have been very happy with the Wearable speakers, there is times where there is some static in the sound. Not sure if it is the wifi or the speakers causing it. Great to watch TV and not bother spouse while they are reading or doing something else.

Hi MarkC,
It’s rewarding to hear that the BRAVIA Theater U is providing you with a great personal listening experience while allowing your spouse to read in peace! Regarding the occasional static you've noticed, we would recommend using the Sony | Sound Connect app to set your HT-AN7 to "Prioritize Stable Connection." Additionally, since external signals can sometimes cause interference, try to keep the neckband and your connected device away from microwave ovens or wireless LAN routers.
