I have a similar set of speakers that go around your neck from monster. They were exceptional. But these are far better from the way they charge, to the port, to being more comfortable and linking to my Sony television. I definitely prefer these and never let mine leave my bedroom.

I recently purchased the Sony Bravia Theater U from Best Buy in “used - excellent” condition, and I was blown away by how pristine it was—it looked and felt brand new! I primarily use it while gaming, especially for Silent Hill 2. I was tired of relying on headphones for late-night sessions, and this setup completely changed the experience. The sound quality is outstanding, delivering rich and immersive audio that pulls you deeper into the game’s world. It’s a fantastic alternative to my soundbar and subwoofer when it’s too late to crank up the volume. This setup creates an incredible atmosphere, perfect for games that rely heavily on sound design. If you’re looking for something that enhances your gaming without disturbing others at night, this is a stellar choice. Highly recommend!

I recently got my hands on the Sony BRAVIA Theater U Wearable TV Speaker, and I have to say, this device has changed my entertainment experience. As a tech enthusiast and a big gamer, I was intrigued by the idea of a wearable speaker, and it did not disappoint. First off, the design is very sleek and the speaker rests comfortably on my shoulders without feeling too bulky or heavy, which was one of my initial concerns. The materials feel premium, and the bottom of the speakers has a nice pleather coating that ensures that it stays in place while sitting upright or even laying down while at an angle. After a few minutes, I would hardly notice that I even had it on, which just goes to show for its ergonomic design. The sound quality is where the BRAVIA Theater U truly shines. The audio is clear, rich, and immersive, engulfing you in a surround sound experience that is quite impressive for such a compact device. Whether I'm watching a movie, playing a game, or taking a call, the sound comes from all around me, adding a new level of depth to my entertainment and work. This has been great for me and my significant other, who tends to go to bed early and I can just connect this to our TV and watch or play games without disturbing her. I feel like this product is perfect for those new parents, who want an immersive sound experience, but still want to be able to hear, in case the baby is crying. Or for those who don't like having earbuds in their ears for long periods of time. Now, for the part that I was most excited about pairing this with my PlayStation 5. The connection was seamless and straightforward, thanks to the included 3mm audio jack to USB-C and plugging right into your controller for being able to use the built in microphone. Once set up, the audio low latency was virtually non-existent, which is key for gaming. The 360 degree surround sound capabilities brought games like "Warzone" and "Spider-Man 2" to life. Every detail, from the ambient noises of the games were enhanced, making the gaming experience incredibly immersive. Battery life in the Theater U Wearable is very solid, offering around 12 hours on a full charge, which is more than enough for using it during the day for work calls and then at the end of the day for some gaming or a couple of shows. Charging is straightforward with just unhooking the rubber flap and revealing the USB-C connection, and its Quick charging gives you up to 60 minutes of playback on a 10-minute charge. The controls are intuitively placed,on the left speaker to adjust the volume up or down and then a pause button in between those. Then on the right speaker is the mic mute button and the power and bluetooth pairing button. The ability of also being able to pair this to two devices at once is huge, especially if you are watching a show but you then get a phone call, you can easily switch between the two devices with its multi-point connection, take the call and as soon as you hang up go back to your movie or show. While the BRAVIA Theater U Wearable TV Speaker is impressive, it's not without its minor flaws. The price is on the higher side, which might be a deterrent for some. Additionally, while the sound quality is great, it is lacking bass compared to a soundbar or a home theater system. However, given the device's versatility, portability and convenience, these are minor trade-offs. Overall, the Sony BRAVIA Theater U Wearable TV Speaker is for those wanting an open ear sound device that can be used in multiple different environments. It offers a unique blend of high-quality audio and portability, enhancing both gaming and movie-watching experiences. If you're looking for an immersive audio solution that allows you to stay mobile and comfortable, you can't go wrong with the BRAVIA Theater U Wearable TV Speaker

I am the type of person who only wears headphones for a specific purpose or task; I can't wait to get them off. I am so glad I found the Sony Bravia U, it offers the hands-free convenience and portability of headphones without the discomfort and limited sound stage. The Bravia U makes watching videos on a portable device awesome. They are also easy to wear around the house, while listening to music, taking calls, or attending meetings when working from home. You can still hear the outside world, so I feel free and less isolated. People around you hear a muted version of what you are listening to, but it is far less disturbing than a portable speaker or speakerphone. Headphones/headsets still have their place, and these can't match the rumble of a real home theater setup, but they are a great combination of audio quality, portability, comfort, and convenience. ***Pros*** 1. Comfortable to wear for hours, resting on your shoulders/base of your neck - not on your head and ears, like traditional headphones. The fit was perfect for my mid-size frame and the middle section (between the 2 sections of the U) is bendable to allow some adjustment for fit. 2. Excellent soundstage - these do a great job of giving audio sources depth and recreating the surround sound effect of a theater. Audio quality is also good overall for music - highs are not as crisp as I would like and there is a lack of deep bass but using the custom equalizer in the Sony Headphones app helped get everything balanced. 3. Battery life exceeds the 12 hours of play time quoted by Sony - only requiring a recharge every few days for me. 4. Allows you to connect to 2 Bluetooth devices at once (the headphones toggle between the devices depending on which has active audio, but it is also easy to swap between devices in the Sony Headphones app to ensure you get the desired source). 5. Built-in microphone allows you to use these as a headset. 6. Good sized physical buttons for volume, mute, play/pause, and power. 7. Wired connection - offers additional device connection options using the included auxiliary audio jack to USB-C adapter. The included 4ft audio cable is separate from the adapter, so you can buy a longer cable if needed. I did notice that the max volume was a little lower than when using Bluetooth, but there was no change in audio quality. 8. The Sony Heaphones app is straight forward to use, and you don't have to sign up to use it. It offers a basic equalizer, devices settings (auto-power off, Bluetooth audio quality, and connected device management), and 360 audio configuration (including an optional ear analyzer that takes pictures of your ear to match the sound to your ear shape). ***Things to Consider*** 1. 360 audio support is limited to a few apps and Sony TVs - don't let this deter you - audio quality and sound stage are great even without this feature. 2. The one thing these cannot replicate is the bass/rumble you get from a home theater subwoofer. It is not a deal breaker from me, but it is noticeable in action movies where you have things like explosions and crashes. 3. Charging is quick with the right USB charger, but only a 6-inch USB-C cable is provided for charging; you will need find your own charger or use one you already have (Sony recommends a charger capable of 1.5A at 5V and says not to exceed 3A). 4. IPX4 is a good rating for water resistance and should work to ensure a little rain or sweat will not damage them (just be careful around the pool or bath as they are not waterproof). 5. I have not tried it, but the ability to share audio with a second Bravia U for watching movies with some else on tablet or laptop seems like a great idea (if you can afford a second one).

The first thing I want to say about the Bravia Wearable headphones is WOW I LOVE THEM! I have never owned this style before and wasn't sure how I'd like them but I am SOOOO sold on these. The sound in all venues is outstanding considering their size. They pair up immediately with whatever I choose to use them with ~ from my iPhone, Sony TV to a very inexpensive BT adapter for an older TV with no Bluetooth. Nothing ever wants to connect to that little adapter but it found this Bravia right away. The sound just wraps all around you. Incredibly clear with no connection drops whatsoever. It has a very long range as well. I went all the way into my basement (and it's a good piece away) and the signal was still strong from my living room TV. None of my other devices can accomplish that. Battery life? EXCEPTIONAL. I literally wore these 13 hours straight from watching TV, on phone calls (which by the way has crystal clear clarity to myself and the caller) and listening to music. They synced up right away to my iMac computer as well. When I finally removed them the battery life was still at 60% and to say I was surprised is an understatement. Very pleased with that feature! Also noted is how comfortable they are when wearing with the padding on the bottoms and very lightweight. I forget I have them on. So unlike wearing bulky over the ear headphones that hurt my head after 15 minutes or buds that begin to irritate my ears. I downloaded the phone app and with the HEADPHONE SETTINGS you will see (1) Connected Devices (2) Equalizer (3) Bluetooth Connection Quality (4) Connect to 2 Devices Simultaneously (5) Automatic Power Off and (6) Notification & Voice Guide. Personally I found the settings to be perfect for me right out of the box. The APP SETTINGS are (1) Adaptive Sound Control (2) Activity Settings (3) 360 Reality Audio Setup and Ear Analysis Results ~ yes the app will photograph both your ears to be sure you have the best setup (4) Automatic Download Software Settings and (5) Notification Setting. I have a music channel that offers some of the 360 Spatial tunes but in my personal opinion the Bravia sounds fabulous with or without using it. No need to spend extra money just to get that feature ~ they are fine just as is. One more thing is my husband is very hard of hearing. When he doesn't have his hearing aids connected to his phone's Bluetooth the TV is blasting me out of the house so I decided to have him try these on. Lo and behold he could hear the TV perfectly!! Smiles all around when we discovered that! So they are excellent for those who don't hear so well too. Even though the price range might not fit everyone's budget I'd buy another pair of these in a heartbeat and probably will since the husband wants to use them and so do I. They are just so simple to operate, great size with nicely placed buttons and I honestly don't know how I managed without them. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED folks! You will not be disappointed!

As someone that spends over 8 hours a day listening to music and TV shows, these Sony Bravia Theater U wearable speakers got me very interested in this idea of a personal theater. TL;DR for those that come across my reviews and details below. Good: Sound Battery Life Universal Usage Sony headphones App integration Two device memory Range USB-C charging Bad: No complaints Meh: They become uneven Sound when head turned Controls I liked the idea of these and they delivered on performance and useability. I didn’t see any mention of the Sony headphones App so one of my first tests was to see if it was compatible, like my XM5s are. As I had hoped, they are and they keep track of some stats - hours used, firmware version and so on. As of June, 2024 - there weren’t any firmware updates but I imagine that’ll change after being in the wild for a few months. I’m at about 13 hours of use and I found it easy to forget these were around my neck; queue going on camera with Zoom to remind me that I have some neck warmer-looking for all to see. I’d say I’m at a solid 7 hours of continuous play and the rest would be standby time. The Bravia Theater U connects to a maximum of two other devices, also controllable via the App where you can disconnect devices that you may not want to be connected at that moment. For example, I’ll turn these on in the morning and it’ll connect to my phone, along with my living room TV; I don’t need it to connect to the TV, so I use the App to just drop that single connection. I’ve used this for music, TV and movies and the sound does float around, which is pretty impressive as it resembles surround sound, but not surround sound that the entire house has to hear with you. In actual real-world usage, unlike Marketing, I just draped them behind my neck and enjoyed what came out. If you wanted to hear the sound movement, tons of songs let you do so, but one that jumped out to me was the song by 311: Space and Time. For the most part at the beginning, I was just watching TV. Looking off to the side, I noticed that the sound just about stops on the opposite side - very little if any sounds were noticeable. I often wear bone conduction headphones if I’m not using the TV speakers, so turning my head and losing all sound out of the other side was a bit strange to me. I don’t consider it a negative given that the entire house isn’t hearing what’s coming out of the speakers but it was noticeable. Comparable to other Bluetooth headphones, the Theater U has about the same range through walls - I’d say roughly 40 paces before there are some sound cut-outs. Pause, Volume up & down are present along with power on/off and mute, all of which are very tactile and easily found if you know where to grab. I have to remember what they are as I’m really not able to differentiate the + and - and pause buttons via touch. USB-C charging is a welcomed relief but to be honest, I haven’t had to charge them in the past 5 days beyond the original charge and I still have around 60% battery life (down from 80% from the majority of the time I was using them). They’re a premium device as are most of the Sony audio devices (of which I have a few) and deservingly so. So, if you are an audio enthusiast, enjoy TV and movie dialogue without having it so loud that other TV effects don’t need to rattle the house, then I say to pick these up. If you have a surround system and love to be completely immersed in sound, then these may not be for you. For me: Recommended!

Very impressed with the Bravia. So easy to pair with multiple devices. Seriously, it took about 5 seconds with my phone. The app is okay, but you have to go through so many screens and then sign up/login. It is also very lightweight. You barely notice the weight and you can position it a little farther forward or back to suit your needs. I wore them for several hours each day and the only time they irritated me was bending to pick up the laundry basket. Then they bump into your face. Otherwise they are very comfortable, sitting, walking or laying down. Sound quality is excellent. I like the fact that the sound volume is higher than my phone when on a phone call. You can really experience surround sound. If you turn your head far to either side than you will just be experiencing one of the speakers. People sitting next to you can hear the sound, albeit muted. I don’t agree that you could use these next to a sleeping person. On a lower volume, my husband blocked them out while he was reading and I was listening to music. The multiple device connection is great. Connect to your phone, TV or computer. Lots of options here. When watching TV, it is like having the sound bar around your neck. Phone call clarity is excellent.

This wearable neck speaker is a premium audio device that redefines the personal listening experience. It offers a combination of phenomenal sound quality and exceptional comfort, making it a truly outstanding product. The sound quality of this neck speaker is phenomenally good, delivering a rich, immersive audio experience that is robust for a wearable device. The speakers are perfectly tuned to provide a full-range audio experience that is well-balanced. This product’s most compelling feature, however, is its comfort. The speakers are so well-designed with an ergonomic shape and lightweight feel that it's easy to forget you're wearing them for long periods. This comfort is a major selling point, as it allows for hours of effortless use without any fatigue. The neck speaker’s connectivity is seamless and convenient. It easily pairs with a variety of devices, including TVs, PCs, and phones, via Bluetooth, allowing you to switch between sources with ease. For individuals with hearing difficulties, this device is a significant benefit, as it brings the sound directly to your ears, enhancing clarity and making it easier to distinguish higher frequencies and muffled dialogue. The controls are thoughtfully designed with a tactile molding over three multi-functional buttons, making them intuitive and easy to use without having to look at the device. The design is sleek and comfortable, but its smooth, low-profile build can present a minor ergonomic consideration. When leaning back, particularly in a low-backed chair, the speaker has a tendency to slide off and fall. While this is a minor drawback, a simple solution like using a piece of hook and loop tape on the underside to improve its grip on a shirt could easily resolve the issue. This is a small trade-off for a speaker that is otherwise so comfortable and unobtrusive. This wearable neck speaker is an excellent product that I highly recommend. It provides a superb listening experience with the added benefit of being comfortable and easy to use. Its great sound, intuitive controls, and seamless connectivity make it a top-tier choice for a variety of audio needs, and a great alternative to traditional headphones.

Amazing sounds quality and easy to connect. Purchased for my grandma that used hearing aids and had difficultly hearing the dialogue from her TV. This speaker almost has an encapsulating noise canceling effect. Excellent lightweight comfortable design for all day use. Great battery life and very strong bluetooth connection.

We really had high expectations of this set of speakers and they have more than exceeded what we expected and hoped for. ! The sound they emit can be customized through the apps equalizers presets or even more so by manually adjusting the sounds to your specific tastes ad desires. I really see us getting the second pair of these so we both can enjoy them at the same time when we pair them together or even using different media in the same room without disturbing each other. These have the benefits of earbuds or headphones without completely blocking out or muffeling ambient sounds. Now earbuds with ANC are awesome at times, but these are really great to have around as and option. My wife and I primarily use them to enhance the sound of the movie or music and actually get immersed in it, and since we both are beginning to have some hearing trouble, they prevent turning the TV up so loud that the neighbors can hear it. My wife also finds them to be quite enjoyable to wear while doing housework or even yard and garden work, yet still being able to hear me or other sounds that may be important to hear that would be blocked out by earbuds. The sound is crisp and clear with a great frequency range, they charge up relatively fast and we find the charge to last the 12 hours advertised, but of course higher volumes can shorten the battery life.

Amazing sound without disturbing anyone! I’ve been using the Sony BRAVIA Theater U Wearable TV Speaker for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed. The sound is clear and immersive, it’s incredibly comfortable to wear, and the battery lasts all day. Bass isn’t super deep, but overall it’s a fantastic experience!

In 2017, Bose released the Soundwear, a wearable speaker that tech media made lots of jokes about, but it wasn't terrible looking and was comfortable enough to wear that one could leave the house forgetting it was on. It even sounded good without necessarily bothering others. It gained a bit of a cult following (and if you can't tell, I was in it lol.) It's no longer made and as it's been 8 years, any still out there are either in use or are way overpriced in the secondary market. Mine eventually stopped working after the speaker was damaged. I've been searching for a replacement ever since. Sony's made a few attempts, the latest being - named like every other Sony product - the SRS-NS7. It sounded fine and worked well enough, but it wasn't really comfortable to wear and the build quality wasn't great. There's also a few janky off-brand attempts out there, but they're all flawed - they don't have multi device support, they don't sound good, they're not comfortable, etc. Anyway...I think Sony finally nailed it with this one. It sounds great and it's pretty comfortable (notice the smaller bit on the back vs the SRS-NS7) without looking too ridiculous. The biggest stand-out feature in my opinion is the multi-device support. Honestly none of the other bluetooth junk in my house handles it this well. I have it paired with my phone and my tablet. If I'm watching a video on my tablet and I get a phone call, it pauses what's on my tablet so I can deal with the call, and resumes once it's over. For those experienced in this space, you know how impressive that is. Maybe you can get that experience in the apple ecosystem, but certainly not outside of it. If I'm on my phone watching a short form video and switch to my tablet to watch something longer, that's right, it mutes the video playing on my phone. I'm not kidding when I say that's miles better than every other bluetooth audio-thing I've ever used. Why is it not like this everywhere?!?! I can switch back and forth without any jankiness at all, even other Sony products can't manage that! Sony deserves some serious kudos for the multi-device support here. If I play a video on my tablet, pause it, then play a video on my phone, then hit the pause button on the speaker, it pauses on my phone. If I switch to the tablet and do the same, it pauses on the tablet. On everything else these actions are a total crapshoot, but here it works exactly as it should. I'm not sure the price makes this product worth it for everyone. It fills a very niche space. But if you're like me and you don't want your ear-holes blocked while you're doing stuff around the house, or you want to watch a video while gaming on the PC/couch/etc., it's worth it. And if you're like me and have spent way too long and too much finding a Soundwear replacement, this is the one.

My wife got these for me, and they’re amazing. Great for gaming, music, movies, tv… heck almost everything!!! Incredible sound, great battery life, very comfortable. This product will not disappoint you. I have all types of headphones and speakers, and the sound from gaming the PS5 and Xbox is incredible. A nice break for your head and ears when you don’t feel like chatting. Great battery life too! I highly recommend picking these up! Nice work Sony!!!
