I've always thought of Sony as a quality name brand. I never thought they could sell such a terrible product, but this headset is a waste of money. A lot of money, at that. Was great for a couple months, then the interference started. They work great for a while, then I can't hardly use them because the sound is so messed up. I've tried everything to prevent this. But you'd have to turn every electronic off in the house to prevent this type of interference. Which is not practical, nor possible if you want to connect your console to the WiFi or LAN line. In the possible causes on the Sony website, it lists "nearby people" as a possible cause of the interference. What a joke, right? Then the head band came apart. That was cheaply made, not at all what I would expect after spending $250. I will list a picture of the headset. I had to use tape to keep the head band together. Don't buy these! They are a waste of your money and I promise you will eventually be disappointed you did.

My H9 headset's headband has fallen apart. unfortunately what was originally an excellent headset from Sony quickly became very uncomfortable. Noise cancelling is great! but what good does that do for me If i can't even wear it anymore?

For the price point I expected better. All the positives about this product are throw own the window due to durability and poor quality. At just under 3 months of normal use, the fabric started separating from the headband. There isn't any damage or tears to the fabric. Just poor assembly quality. Unfortunately Sony hides behind "cosmetic damage"/"wear and tear" clauses to avoid covering this issue under warranty. I wouldn't recommend this product until that issue is resolved or at least if Sony recognized it as poor production qualtiy.

This headset is awesome, however, after owning for 5 months with minimal use the "leather" that wrapped around the foam on the head band just slid right out of place. Now the foam is exposed and is coming off as well. I've done some online research of this issue and have seen this to be a problem with other owners. Beware..

I've used these headphones since I bought them back in December of 2023. They're AWFUL. Why a one-star rating? Because of the persistent audio dropouts that have plagued me since I bought them (on 3 completely different computers). This is highly inconvenient when you're talking with your coworkers on Teams and while you're talking, the audio stops working and your boss interjects and you keep talking over him because you don't hear him in your headset. Or it could just be an inconvenience during a gaming session. The only way around it without a complete reboot is to reroute the sound to your desktop speakers (assuming you have any). Otherwise, the headset will work again after a reboot for days, hours, or maybe just minutes. You can try closing all other apps, but it makes no difference. Complete resets and reinstalls of the INZONE HUB software do nothing. Worst $200 I've ever spent. Complete garbage (although the sound is nice).

[Employee of bestbuy] I’ve been gaming for over 12 years and I can say without a doubt these are some of the worst headphones I’ve ever used in my life. The battery life is atrocious, the feel of the headphones themselves suck, and the mic quality sounds like I’m in a cod lobby on my Xbox back in 2011. The only redeeming quality of these headphones would be the noise cancellation, which was very good, but definitely not close to the price point that they are asking for. My advice? Go with some Hyperx headphones. They are a fraction of the price and you will have a much better experience.

I wouldn’t recommend this product especially for the price. They are nice headphones and sound great however the microphone goes out often. It gets static in the mic and then you’ll have to replace it. I purchased one when it first came out and had to get it replaced by Sony after a few months. The one that I replaced went out so I bought another pair with Geek Squad protection and sure enough I had to get it replaced using my geek squad protection after 3-4 months of use. If you purchase these headphones make sure you purchase the geek squad protection because it’s not a matter of if it’s a matter of when the mic will stop working.

This is my second pair, shame on me for getting them twice. You're lucky if these expensive headphones last longer than a year. The leather that covers the top band comes off rather easily. This product needs to seriously be looked at closer and correct the glue that they use to seal the leather. Sony support is less than helpful when though their product is defective. I take the best care of my electronics to ensure longevity, this one unfortunately doesn't care how you take care of it, it will still rip off on you.

I purchased this item for my son on the BestBuy web site. It was an open box item rated "excellent," so no blemishes and all parts included. Unfortunately, whoever at Best Buy in Portland, Oregon accepted the item back from its previous owner didn't check carefully at all. The headphones were in the box, but no charging cord and no dongle. So, basically, a useless item. I returned it to my local BB store for a new, unopened box (with all parts included, of course), at a cost to me of over $80.00 above what I had already paid for the open box item. So this review is about the hassle of ordering and waiting for the delivery of an item that was not what it claimed to be. My son did not use the item because he couldn't charge it and he couldn't connect it. I will leave a separate review of the one I purchased that did have all of its parts. This is a review of BestBuy's claim that open box items on its website contain all necessary parts. I've purchased open box items from BB before, but only in-store. I will never order one again on-line.

I got these on sale and was really looking forward to them. They synced right up the first time. After a couple of days they stopped connecting. I unplugged everything, plugged it back in and nothing. I reset them and that worked. Then a week later same thing and now won’t connect at all.

Unfortunately for the price i paid the quality of the material is pure garbage. The top cushion started falling apart and it’s not even a year old. Sound quality is great and the design is fantastic. As matter of fact for some reason most of the PlayStation headsets are not made to stand the test of time and I take excellent care of all my tech. Save money and get anything but any of Sony PlayStation headsets.

Hi JohnC, we are truly sorry to hear the the microphone of your Sony - INZONE H9 headsets stopped working, this is not the experience we want you to have, here are some useful steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
1- Make sure your headset is up to date using the INZONE Hub software that you can download on your computer.
2- Connect the headset to different devices to make sure it is not the device that is restricting the mic.
3- Do a microphone test through the INZONE Hub, and also try to adjust the mic volume to be higher.
4- Initialize the headset to restore factory settings, this operation resets volume settings, etc. to the factory settings, and deletes all pairing information, you can do this following the instructions here: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/295960/v1/en/contents/TP1000670454.html

I have owned these for years. They were good at first, but an issue came up that Sony support, factory resetting, and upgrading couldn’t fix. Everything would just become highly distorted or cut out entirely. I loved their Bluetooth headphones so i expected similar quality, but that’s not what i got out of these. Don't bother lol. It feels super plasticity. It feels like a cheap headset for the price. You cant control anything with your ps5 controller. Look at the black shark v2 pro or the alienware headset. Way cheaper and honestly shockingly good metal quality. Superior sound quality

I have been a Call of Duty player since 2008. I pre-ordered these headsets in great anticipation because they were made for the PS5 of which I have 2 of. I have used a variety of headsets including the Turtle Beach Elite 800 and the Astro a50s. Compared to the Astros the Sony H9 are absolute garbage. They make you think the sound is going to be so great. They make you download an app that has you take a picture of each one of you ears as part of the setup. Within 30 minutes of completing the setup and jumping off into several games of Cold War I knew the headsets were worthless for playing COD and I am returning them. I setup a custom game and found I could only hear footsteps at half the range I could with the Astros. In the custom game the account on the second PS5 had no dead silence on and I was totally shocked how much further away I could hear footsteps with the Astro a50s. So if you play COD don't waste your money on the H9s. And yes I am extremely sure they were set up correctly. I would rate the H9s as the worst headset I have ever had. They will be the first ones I have ever returned.

The INZONE H9 noise cancelling headsets are designed with 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming and our proven hardware technology, so you can detect where your opponents are and how far away. Even players hiding in shadows, or behind walls and obstacles, can’t stay hidden for long.
To experience 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming, this feature must be turned on while using the INZONE Hub PC software. Make sure you also setup the Spatial Sound Personalization correctly.
