A very poor sound quality and hard to sync with my ps5
Posted
Hi TheMAN, We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with this INZONE H9 Wireless Noise Canceling Gaming Headset. We apologize for the inconvenience. If the volume is turned down on the connected device while connected via Bluetooth connection, the volume will not increase much by operating the headset. When this is the case, adjust the volume by operating the connected device.
If the headset cannot be connected to the USB transceiver connected to the computer or PS5, follow the procedure below to perform pairing again with the USB transceiver.
Connect the USB transceiver to a computer or PS5.
Press and hold the connect button on the USB transceiver for about 5 seconds or more. The USB transceiver goes into pairing mode, and the connect indicator (white) on the USB transceiver repeatedly flashes twice in a row.
Turn on the headset. When pairing is complete, a notification sound is emitted from the headset and the connect indicator (white) on the USB transceiver lights up.
Restart the computer or PS5 you are using.
Connect the connected device to the headset once again.
Reset the headset.
Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.
When using a wireless 2.4 GHz connection with a computer or PS5 and a Bluetooth connection at the same time, the microphone input of the headset is used for a call or chat with the connected device via Bluetooth. You cannot chat on the computer or PS5.

The headphones sound ok. Very big and bulk though. The ear cups are shallow so there are time the speakers are pushing against my ears. The battery is pretty good and they look sleek. However no way to charge them except for a wire makes it loose some of its sleekness. You can use them while charging though. They kept changing the settings on my pc and i had to constantly change the defaults of my audio and communication devives and disable the microphone. If these were around 100 dollars i think they would be a great buy but for 300 plus you can get a way better fitting and preforming pair of headphones especially if you use a separate microphone. To the young man that worked there and recommend me those get yourself better headphones and dont ever recommend those again.

I bought this to repalce my alienware aw-988, the ears cups on that headset wore out after heavy use for years on end. The audio is decent on the h9, the noise cancellation is cool. I like that i can connect to two devices at once, one via the usb dongle and the other like my phone or pc via bluetooth. You cannot edit the audio profile for the headset on your ps5, you cannot mute it using the controller’s mute button, these two shortcomings make me wish id bought alternative option instead. I work from home so i use the headset for work calls during work and gaming after. I did this as well with my aliewares and the only issue after 3.5 years was the clothing on the earcups fell apart. My h9s? About 2-3 months in the daxmn headband fell apart, 299 for this? NOT WORTH IT.

I have almost exclusively used the hyper x cloud 2 wireless headsets but last year I decided to switch ot up and try out a sony headset since i had heard good things about the more expensive non gaming pair. Unfortunately this headsets build quality is not comparable to hyperx , at least this model. The lever style muting on the microphone is not as intuitive as the button on a hyperx. Multi device pairing is nice in concept but if you go out of range of a device its default behavior is to constantly beep at you which i found to be annoying. The cushions and pads wore out after a year and fell off. All of this at a 300 pricepoint ? Not worth it in my opinion. Much better options tor cheaper.

if the cost was $100 I would have given it 3 stars but for $200 the quality during gaming is just pretty bad. Everything sounds distant and without the software EQ music isn't very good at all. Battery life is good and comfort pretty decent but for $200 I expected way better.

Hi Garry, thank you for your feedback.
We genuinely apologize that the INZONE H9 headset has not lived up to your expectations. We understand your frustration with the sound quality during gaming and for music playback without the EQ software. This is certainly not the experience we want our customers to have.
We're glad to hear that you're finding the battery life good and the comfort decent. However, your feedback regarding the audio is crucial.
Here are a few recommendations that might improve your audio experience:
-Ensure your INZONE H9 headset and the INZONE Hub software are updated to the latest versions. https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/295960/v1/en/contents/TP1000670424.html
https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/295960/v1/en/contents/TP1000670425.html
-We highly recommend experimenting further with the equalizer settings within the INZONE Hub software. You can create custom profiles to tailor the sound to your preferences for both gaming and music.
Thanks for considering Sony products. We value your feedback as it helps us improve our products.
Best regards,

The headset itself is good and has some very unique features like being able to connect to a phone and your console at the same time. Although that feature recently broke for me, the headset still has redeeming qualities like its noise cancellation or ambient noise modes. The software is the reason it gets such a low rating though. For a headset made by Sony, the fact that you CANNOT update the firmware is absurd. You’re left missing key updates because the software is bugged and they refuse to fix it. Do not buy this headset if you plan to use it on PC.

Sound is good, battery life is pretty good. Sometimes Bluetooth can chug and lag. My major issue is the headband. After not even 2 months the headband leather separated from the band causing me to be able to see the foam on the inside. Not too happy after spending $300 on these.

Hi Brycer, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your Sony Inzone H9 Gaming Headset. The sound on these definitely is not worth tje retail price. The are comfortable, but after some time the material used for the cuffs gets uncomfortable. I do not know how they calculated the lasting hours, but it is a flat out lie. I can get, maybe 4 hours of use. If I don’t manually turn the off, even without using the computer. I need to recharge them the next day because it completely drains the battery. When the unit runs out of battery, it gives no warning. It just makes a sound and shut off. No “battery low” or percentage of battery left warning. The cable it comes is not suitable for use while the headphones are on, which is a common occurrence since they don’t last as advertised. I won’t be returning them as I don’t pay retail, had I paid the $300 price tag, I would have returned them a couple of days ago.

If I compare this to the turtle beach max 700 gen 2 I say it beats out this Sony in many aspects. I have the Sony and in less than a year the hinges is already broken. Secondly it does not give any indication warning of it needing to be charge. It just shuts down and it did this to me multiple times during the game. That feature should be one of this first thing it should have thought about . Many other headphones like the Logitech , and turtle beach and even razer gives warning. I will never buy this headphones again nor will I recommend it to anyone. It’s overpriced for the lack of feature

I returned it immediately after testing and finding out the mic has no noise rejection. The mic is also omnidirectional, so it picks up sound from all directions. This makes me wonder why it even has a boom when it won't even make a difference. Aesthetics? If the mic had a tight pickup pattern like a shotgun mic, it would make sense to have a boom. Sound quality was great, but it's also great in my mid to low $100 noise cancelling headphones, so it didn't feel like an upgrade at all. I'm really stumped that this is considered a premium headset.

Hi IGVincentVergaraFitness,
We regret to hear that you were not satisfied with the performance of the INZONE H9. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. To have the best experience when using the mic function, it is recommended to wear the headphones properly and adjust the position of the boom microphone so that it is near your mouth. You can also check your source device or the app that you are using for mic sensitivity and additional settings. Thanks again for sharing your review and we hope you will consider Sony for your future purchases.

Let me preface this by saying that I normally use a Sennheiser HD800S for my daily driver. These simply aren't worth the money. If you're not well versed in audio to simplify why this headset is a dump: * The mic quality is abysmal at this price point. Not suitable for professional calls and people will notice when chatting online its that substandard. * The mids lack separation, sounds just blend together and it sounds so busy that you will struggle to discern one sound from the next. * They're not very conformable, the clamp force on these is deceptive and is uncomfortable. It doesn't breathe well and your ears will likely sweat a bit. * The connectivity is lackluster. The Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless are more expensive but offer significantly more connectivity and allow you to connect your PS5, PC and smartphone simultaneously with its included DAC. The H9 can only connect to the PS5 via dongle and a bluetooth device. So that means you can't hop on your PC to play a cross play game with friends and chat with them on console at the same time. Also if a call comes in you better be paired with it too. Some of you may be groaning by now, but ultimately for the money you may as well go with Corsairs headset instead as it offers better mic and sound quality for less or spring for the Steelseries which actually does something innovative when it comes to headsets. This thing would've been a hit if it released when the PS4 dropped (yes PS4 not PS5). Easy skip.

These headphone are nice (so far) but extremely underwhelming. I had the PS5 entry level headphones and sound wise theres no difference at all between them. You can’t even do any EQ adjustments on the PS, which is crazy to me. These are more for PC gamers apparently. I was really hoping you could change everything accordingly yo your liking but you cant. I would stick with the entry level ones if you are a PlayStation user, trust me.

Am I the only one who purchased these and noticed that the connection often makes the sound distort into digitized, garbled sound? The sound is good when it’s not messed up, the headphones have good comfort and a convenient microphone. The Bluetooth works very well so far, better than the actual dongle connection. The buttons are in bad positions and can be annoying. The look of the headset though is fantastic. However, overall a very flawed headset with some shining, yet common, features. Not worth the price.

For thr price, these feel very cheap. I understand they want a lightweight head set to offset fatigue of the wearer, but these took it too far. The audio and microphone was meh as well. I returned them and picked up the new Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. Hands down a far superior product for about the same price.
