Bought this mp3 player to listen to music on my motorcycle. plugged it into the audio speakers on the bike and the sound is fantastic at any speed. Battery life is great with a 4 hour ride and still playing. Storage is awesome I was able to put all 6 gig of my music on the player so have large choose of music

We use this for my 8-year-old son to have music when he goes to sleep. He also takes it on car trips and other places. He can use it with no problems (easy to navigate and use). The sound quality is good and the space is fantastic. Excellent device.

I was looking for a low-cost music player that wasn't a phone! Small size, good sound, and the expected basic music operations. Solid for the price.

I LOVE this thing!! The only thing that keeps me from giving this the full five stars is that the battery is NOT the full 30 hours that the specs say, which would have made this superlative. I've been using Creative's Zen Mozaic for about 8 years now (working on my second one), because they're an easy to use just music player with drag and drop, they don't try to take over your computer like Apple stuff, I can go most of a week without having to charge it even with heavy use, and the 16G is not crazy expensive. The problem is they aren't made any more, and are hard to find. This left me in a quandary... until now, that is. The Sony - NWZ-E380 Series Walkman 16G Video MP3 Player has drag and drop, doesn't care where your music came from, doesn't try to take over your computer, and the song search is actually easier to use than the Mozaic. Easy to pause and play, easy menu, and the 16G is not outrageously pricey. Personally, I wanted it just for music, and it does that exceptionally well... If only the battery lasted as long as it said while I'm listening to my tunes...

This MP3 player has some nice features. It was easy to set up and the controls are fairly intuitive. For the price you get a lot of device for a fraction of the cost of an Apple product. Didn't give it 5 stars because the accompanying software could be easier to use. As for capacity, my wife listens to podacsts more than music. I opted for the 16GB version since the price difference over the 4 or 8 were negligible. All in all, still worth buying if you're in the market for such a device.

I bought my wife a similar Sony Walkman a few years ago and then started borrowing it. When my birthday rolled around I treated myself to the 16G version. Occasionally I listen to music (very good sound quality) but I really like it for audiobooks. The FM is surprisingly good; I can listen to ball games without bothering my wife while at home or even while hiking along the river and flyfishing. Good battery life, too. Although the screen is small, the ability to store and share photos is a bonus.

Choosing between Sansa Clip, Walkman and Ipod nano, this was the best buy for the money. Honestly all three play equally well. Sansa players we have owned tended to develop mecanical issue,. So wanted a step up for ten year old daughter. Nano was just stupid expensive for a kid. Solution was the Walkman. Well made, nice viewing screen, multi functions and easy use.

I bought the 16GB version of the walkman because I wanted a device that only played music - no camera, e-mail, apps, etc. As an added bonus, this one also has a decent FM tuner as well. I was able to fit my entire cd collection (287 discs) on this unit, with about 300 MB to spare. The sound quality is fine for the price. The unit is a little plastic-y compared to other MP3 players I own, but it will probably hold up for what I need it to do. Definitely recommend this unit to anybody who just wants a simple MP3 player.

I have an older 4 gig Sony Walman MP3 player and have wanted something with more storage, loving the simplicity of drag and drop files and compatibility with Windows Media Center; this was an easy choice. The first thing I noticed is the construction has changed, it feels lighter but in a cheaper way; no metal in the casing and no definitive on/off hold switch. I've only had it one month and I did purchase the warranty so I'm not too concerned, but the older 4 gig models were nearly indestructible and I don't think this one will pan out that way. Like I said, it's early, if the thing is still rocking away with the clear sound quality in month 6, I'll update my review. It's a good higher capacity alternative to a Mac product so I heartily encourage folks to give it a go anyway, I'm hard on my stuff so sometimes my standards are a bit high.

Got this to use for out of the country travel. Small to carry, & good sound. It's also quick, and easy to upload music to.

Lower screen resolution than the previous model I had (which came out 8 years ago so not sure why technology is going backwards) but it's faster and holds a lot more songs than before so overall I'm satisfied. Sound quality is great as always. thats a given when it comes to sony products

This is the second one of these that I've owned and I love it. It's simple to operate and does what it claims and what I want. It has great battery life. My first one (NWZ-S544 -- not exactly the same model) finally died when it wouldn't take a charge anymore - after 5+ years of almost daily use!

Had this model in an 8gb and it lasted me over 5 years. Battery finally died so I had to get another. This time went with 16gb. The features seem exactly like the 8gb model. Easy to use and super durable. Can take a beating and keep putting out the tunes. Only downside is that the buttons are not the easiest to feel. Times when I'm trying to turn it up I end up pausing it. Overall, this a go-to item when I'm cruising town or in the gym. Fits easy in the pocket and is very slim. Unlike the bulky Itouch or similar MP3 players.
