To get the most out of your speaker, be sure to press the ULT button on the device. This activates the ULT POWER SOUND mode, which is designed to enhance the bass and volume for a more impactful sound. You can also adjust the sound settings further using the Sony | Music Center app, which allows you to customize the equalizer to your preference.


Keep in mind that the ULT FIELD 1 is a compact, portable speaker, and its sound output is optimized for its size. If you're still not satisfied with the performance after trying these steps, you may want to consider one of our larger ULT series speakers, such as the ULT FIELD 7 or ULT TOWER 10, for an even more powerful and immersive sound experience.

Thank you for the honest feedback! It’s true that while the ULT FIELD 1 is the most compact in the series, it really shines in those smaller, more personal settings.

If you ever feel like it needs a bit more energy, definitely make sure the ULT button is turned on—it’s specifically there to give the bass a boost for such a portable speaker. We're glad to hear it's a good fit for your room!

Hi Robert,

We regret to hear that you were not satisfied with the speaker. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the latest software version of the speaker (via the Sony Music Center app). It is also recommended to charge the built-in battery sufficiently. The sound may become low in the following cases. This is not a malfunction.

-While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction.
-When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

Additionally, you have the option to adjust the sound effects and equalizer function of the speaker to fine-tune the sound quality to your needs. With the Sony Music Center app, you can change the sound quality via a 7-band equalizer. It allows you to adjust ULT Mode without making ULT Sound Effect noise. You can also connect two ULT FIELD 1 speakers via Bluetooth to activate stereo sound (left and right), to experience a rich sense of presence. The ULT button provides signature ULT sound quality to the listener, enhancing the music with one different sound modes.

Hi MelissaS, We're sorry to hear you're having trouble connecting an identical second speaker. This is definitely not the experience we'd like you to have. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn this into a better experience. You can listen to music wirelessly with 2 speakers (Stereo Pair function). To use the Stereo Pair function, 2 ULT FIELD 1 speakers are required. By connecting 2 speakers via a BLUETOOTH connection, you can enjoy more powerful sound.

2 speakers connected via a BLUETOOTH connection play sounds in stereo, where 1 speaker plays the sound on the right channel (right side) and the other plays the sound on the left channel (left side).
