These are really nice and connect easily, have great sound and feel very comfortable. Purchased these November 2024 on black Friday and have been using them daily through February 2026 and they suddenly stopped working. It's a shame, because they still look brand new and were working like new, but I guess I cannot complain for what I paid for them. Just wish Sony brand lasted longer. FYI...2 or 3 year warranty is a great idea if buying these.

The Sony WH-CH520s are a great set of headphones for simple listening tasks. They are on the lower quality side of Sony’s headphone line up; however, they will get the job done. I do have to say I found opening the packing frustrating. The outer later was easy to remove by then I couldn’t figure out how to open the box. I displayed in my pictures. The box has a little open window with another piece of cardboard with image of an arrow printed on it. OK simply move the box up according to the arrow… Nope wrong you need to push that area with the arrow and pull the bottom tab out. Whats up with this? I just want to open the box throw it out and start listening to music. Enough with my box opening rant and on to the headphones. The over the ear headphones sound decent but the sound was just off to me. At first I wanted to say that the speakers weren’t clear but it’s not that. Maybe I just want more out of these speakers as I have some other high quality Sony headphones that just blow these out of the water. Sony states this headset is equipped with 360 Reality Audio with an immersive feel. I did get an immersive feel but I just wish the tone and audio quality was better to appreciate it. These speakers are just missing something for me. The side buttons works for volume up and down, play, stop, next song, etc. In between the up and down buttons is a power button/Bluetooth button. At first I thought this was a button to activate siri or command prompts but then I learned its just for power and connecting Bluetooth devices. However, what is cool is I shouted hey siri and it instantly worked seamlessly with my phone and I was greeted by siri in the headset. But I have another complaint, its hard to differentiate all three buttons as they are all just in one bar so close together I can’t tell what I’m pushing and listen I am under 30 so I think others will run into the same problem. My next complaint, Sony state the WH-CH520s have all day comfort and I would have to disagree. After my initial try on for 20-30 minute with multiple songs. My ears did not only start to hurt but also sweat really quickly (yuck). I am a glasses wearer and the headphone cushions against my ear with my glasses behind the upper part of my ear made them hurt. I have normal glasses and wore may headphones of all types with no problem. Taking the WH-CH520s off of my head was a relief to me after 30 minute usages (not hours). Bluetooth connection to my iPhone 14 pro max was simple, seamless, and great along with the Sony app. Sony always does well with connectivity which is what makes me normally use Sony. YOU CAN CONNECT 2 devices to this headset to seamlessly switch between two phones/devices for phone calls/music, etc. Their is also an equipped microphone to answer/make those calls or go on web meetings. Overall, I would not want to use these headphones because of how they make my ears uncomfortable and with the audio quality just missing something for me but I could live with it on a case by case basis. I could live with some of the other concerns I have listed if they were more comfortable.

Hi Tstall,
We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with the WH-CH520 Wireless Headphones. We apologize for the inconvenience. Designed for all-day comfort, not only is the design stylish, but it’s also crafted with ease-of-use in mind. The lightweight build and swivel earcups gently slip on and off, while the adjustable headband, cushion and soft ear pads give you all-day comfort. When playing music, check the connection status of the headset and the transmitting Bluetooth device. When the headset and the transmitting Bluetooth device are connected via an HFP or HSP Bluetooth connection, switch the Bluetooth connection to A2DP with the connected device. When listening to music from a computer on the headset, the sound quality may be poor (difficult to hear the singer’s voice, etc.) for the first few seconds after a connection is established. This is due to the computer specifications (priority on stable connection at the start of transmission and then switches to priority on sound quality several seconds later) and is not a headset malfunction. If the sound quality does not improve after a few seconds, use the computer to establish an A2DP connection. As for the operations on your computer, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the computer.

These are comfortable and light headphones. They charge quickly and connect easily. But the laptop audio and mic quality is AWFUL. I can only describe it as trying to speak to someone through a wall with the AC on. While the quality was much better while connected to my phone, it was not anything impressive by any means.

Hi KenyattaJ,
Thanks for reaching out. It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying the sound quality of your WH-CH520 headphones.
We really appreciate the feedback about the volume. To get a louder, fuller sound from your headphones, we highly recommend using the Sony | Sound Connect app. You can use the Equalizer settings to boost the volume levels and find a sound profile that hits a bit harder.
Give that a shot!
Thanks for considering Sony and sharing your feedback.

I bought it for video calls on my computer. It cuts out often and for some reason I’m between calls the sound coming in will sometimes stop. They can hear me but I can’t hear them. The only resolution is to turn it off and back on. Battery life is really good. They are comfortable and light weight. I would rerun them but I past the return period. I thought it was 30 days but it is only 2 weeks.

These headphones are cheaply made and the sound quality on them is just alright. While handling them I felt like I would break them because the headband was so flimsy. If you're just looking for mere sound and not quality I would say these are decent. I gave them to my 12 year old nephew.

Hi TyreyeM,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. While we're glad the WH-CH520 is working well for your music, we would like to clarify that this specific model is not equipped with Noise Canceling technology. We aim to be as transparent as possible in our product specifications to help our customers find the right fit.

I think they look cute, but its SO ANNOYING you have to download the sony app to “turn on/turn off” the headphones its so annoying i barely have any space on my phone and having to download an extra app just to turn on the headphones p me off
Posted
Hi user117512, thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration regarding the need to use the Sony | Headphones Connect app to control various functions of your WHCH520 headphones. Indeed, the app provides additional features and settings, such as updating the headset software, customizing the equalizer, and displaying battery charge levels.
However, it's worth noting that basic operations such as turning the headphones on and off do not necessarily require the app. You can do this directly on the headphones by pressing and holding the power button for about two seconds until the indicator light flashes. The app is primarily used for optimizing and customizing your listening experience but is not required for essential functions.
If storage space is a concern, you can feel free to uninstall the app after setting up and configuring your headphones according to your preferences. This way, you can save space on your device while still being able to perform basic operations with the onboard controls.
We hope this resolves your concerns, and we appreciate your input on making our products even better.
Thanks for choosing Sony!
