Worst Headphones Ever I wish I could give these zero stars. The sound quality is absolutely terrible—like listening to music through a tin can. The bass is non-existent, and the treble is so sharp it makes my ears bleed. Battery life? What battery life? These things die faster than my interest in using them. The advertised “long-lasting battery” is a complete joke. I barely get two hours before they start begging for a charge. Connectivity is a nightmare. They disconnect randomly, lag constantly, and have the worst Bluetooth range I’ve ever seen. If you enjoy listening to static and fighting to keep your audio connected, these are perfect for you. The noise canceling feature is also a scam. It cancels out nothing except my patience. I can hear every background noise louder than ever, making them worse than regular headphones. To top it all off, they feel cheap and uncomfortable. After just 30 minutes, my ears feel like they’re being crushed. Save yourself the frustration and money. These headphones belong in the trash.

Hate myself for buying thise headphones, they are a piece of crap. The sound is good, the noise cancelation is good … IF … you can get them to sync with whatever you’re trying to connect them with. The app from Sony you need to use to connect to whatever is worthless, it keeps you going in circles until you finally give up and go looking for your old headphones. I will stick and buy Bose from now on as I should have when I made the mistake of wasting my money on this Sony headphones.

These are the most expensive noise canceling headphones I’ve ever purchased and they are straight garbage. Please don’t fall for all the fake reviews like I did. I live in a noisy apartment and work on a busy loud street. I can hear every noise and conversation around me. Now I have to buy another pair and take a chance. In my experience the cheapest pair I bought was the best and it’s been downhill since.

Hi AnnaA
We're so sorry to hear that the WH-CH720N headphones aren’t living up to what you expected.
Since you're in a particularly loud environment, there are a few things we can try to make sure you're getting the most out of them:
-Make sure the Ambient Sound Control isn't accidentally turned on.
-Since these are over-ear headphones, even a small gap (like from glasses) can let a lot of sound leak in. Try adjusting the headband for a tighter fit around your ears.
-In the app, try turning off "Adaptive Sound Control." This feature automatically changes settings based on where you are, which can sometimes turn the noise canceling off when you actually want it on full blast.
If you’re still having a hard time, please reach out to our support team so we can help you out. You can find their contact information here: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=headphones
Thanks for considering Sony and sharing your feedback.

I bought these headphones instead of the Bose QuietComfort 45 which I originally intended to buy. These headphones don't have good noise cancelling and the sound quality is very poor. They had an app that supports spatial audio but you are required to pay for them. It's not worth it.

Hi IvyM,
We regret to hear that you are not satisfied with the headphones. Sony's commitment to customer satisfaction is our top priority. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is up-to-date (via the Sony Sound Connect app). It is also recommended to wear the headphones properly.
Sound quality may vary depending on the source content. You have the option to use the Equalizer/CLEAR BASS setting of the Sony app to fine-tune the sound quality depending on your needs. For more information, please refer to this link:
https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2966/v1/en/contents/TP1000776844.html
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. When the Adaptive Sound Control on the Sony Sound Connect app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions. To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it. With the Sony app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.
Your feedback about the supported apps of the 360 Reality Audio is also appreciated.
Hope this helps. In case you need further assistance, please email us at socialsupport@am.sony.com with the following details:

Good sound but terrible build quality. I recommend avoiding these headphones. I owned these for about 6 months when a crack started along a seam (see pic), so I glued them hoping they would hold. Two weeks later, they snapped and came completely apart from the headband. Utter disappointment because these are otherwise good-sounding headphones. But clearly, they are very cheaply made. Avoid. I used these gently and stored them in a case or hung them on a headphone hook on my desk. Never dropped, sat on, or handled roughly. I own Sony 7506's which I love and have had for years and cost less than these do. Upsetting to see poor build quality at this price point. Support says that cosmetic and physical damage isn't covered by the warranty so I'm stuck with them. I'd recommend you steer clear of these.

I was super excited to get these in the mail today considering all the positive reviews and Sony statement that they are noise canceling. The name of the product includes the words noise canceling, but I can assure you that they are in fact not. I can hear the vents in my car blowing I can hear other music over the top of what I'm listening to. I could not possibly be more disappointed. They sound nice if you don't need to drown out other people's noise, but if you do keep looking. I'm going to have to go through the hassle of sending them back. I am so disappointed because the closest Best buy is more than an hour's drive away.

Terrible headphones. They sounded good most of the time, but then I noticed, while I was making beats, that on lower bass frequencies, I would get a crackling sound. At first I thought it was an issue with the audio file itself, but then I tried my other bluetooth headphones, and the crackling was gone. I would only get the crackling popping noise with the 720n's. So not very good headphones considering they cost significantly more than my other Sony wireless headphones and earbuds. I thought the quality would be much better, but they couldn't even handle low bass frequencies. Stay away from these if you like to make beats. These are not worth the $150. You can get much better headphones for the same price.

When I got the headphones, the sound was really bad. All the music was muffled sounding and was worse in sound quality when compared to my older, cheaper headphones. Like, I was comparing these headphones to $50 headphones. Also, the companion app to adjust the features on the App Store looks sketchy. Bad reviews, and says it’s the “former” app. No idea what that means, and it implies that they don’t even update it or maybe Sony doesn’t even own it anymore. Don’t buy this.

Hi Dude,
We're so sorry to hear that your experience with the WH-CH720N hasn't been great so far.
We’d really like to help you get these sounding the way they should.
Regarding the app, we recently rebranded it from "Headphones Connect" to Sony | Sound Connect. It is definitely our official Sony app and we are constantly working on updates to make it better. It’s the best place to go to keep your headphones updated and to customize your sound.
To fix that muffled sound, we highly recommend downloading the app and playing around with the Equalizer settings.
Also, please make sure the app is set to "Priority on Sound Quality" so you're getting the best possible signal.
Thanks for considering Sony. We truly appreciate you sharing your feedback and hope you'll give those settings a try.
Warm regards,
Estefany

I was excited to get these wireless headphones because it’s Sony… I have purchased many Sony wired headphones over the years and the quality was always great. These however aren’t the same.. They are cheaply constructed and the call quality literally lasted less than 2 weeks before my clients could no longer hear me in the built in microphone… it’s very disappointing because I spent $99 and had high expectations because its Sony and my $19.99 corded headphones worked far better… I can’t say I should have splurged and bought the more expensive ones because of the level of disappointment. Just wished they performed as advertised

I just wasted $160 on headphones that aren’t even noise canceling. And the words are in the product name. I have settings set to noise canceling on the app, I double checked everything on the settings. Yet I’m sitting in a cafe and can hear everyone talking around me. And of course I missed the window to return the headphones. I hadnt tested out the noise canceling in a setting where it wasn’t already silent. So once I was in a slightly noisier place, of course they don’t work and of course it’s too late for a refund. Don’t waste your money on these. Subpar audio.

However, if you are looking for a true step up in build, comfort, and performance, we highly recommend checking out our premium, newer model: the Sony WH-1000XM6. It features our absolute best-in-class active noise cancellation, studio-quality sound tuning, and a premium foldable design.

Let’s try a few simple steps to see if we can get them charging:
-If the headphones are very hot or very cold, they might not charge. Let them sit at room temperature for a bit.
-Reset and initialize the headphones. Here are the links where you can find instructions for each procedure.
