Terrible for indoors and worst for outdoors. This is probably one of the worst small speakers I have ever had. — This is what I would expect from Temu, not Sony. — I can't hear anything past a few feet and the sound is muffled. I have tried everything, including triple checking the volume on different devices. — This speaker should be worth $5, and that's saying a lot. Looks good though.

Its sound is just okay but my biggest complaint is that it won’t pair with any of my devices anymore. It won’t pair to more than one so I switched it from my iPhone to my iPad. Then it was no longer discoverable on my iPhone, I removed it from my iPad and now it’s not discoverable on anything. I’ve done all of the fixes, resets etc. Its too expensive for this outcome.

I don’t know if I got a dud, but this does not hold a charge at all. Went from fully charged to 20% in 10 minutes. It’s also not very loud. I can barely hear it at full volume if I’m working in the garage and walk 10 feet outside. The sound is very bass heavy (which I usually don’t mind) so much so that it drowns out other sounds instruments when listening to music and it makes listening to a podcast almost impossible. Do not recommend.

The sound quality may vary depending on the source content. The surrounding area of the speaker and your device also affects Bluetooth connection as well as the sound quality. Move the speaker away from a device such as a microwave oven and a wireless LAN access point that may affect the sound quality of the speaker. Bring the Bluetooth device closer to the speaker. If there is any obstacle between the speaker and the Bluetooth device, move it out of the way.
For optimum performance, make sure to charge built-in battery sufficiently. The sound may become low in the following cases. This is not a malfunction:
-When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.
-When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.
-When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.
It's important to note that while the speaker is physically capable of outdoor use, the sound performance can vary depending on the specific outdoor environment, including factors such as wind, background noise, and open spaces, which may affect the perceived loudness.
In some cases, you might find that the speaker's sound may not be as loud as desired for outdoor use, especially in noisy or wide-open areas. For optimal sound quality and performance, we recommend using the speaker primarily for indoor purposes, where environmental factors are more likely controlled, and you can fully enjoy its audio capabilities.
For battery issues, initialize the speaker to factory settings:
-While the speaker is turned on, press and hold the – (volume) button and the (BLUETOOTH) button until the speaker turns off (5 seconds or more). The speaker is initialized. Settings such as volume, etc., are restored to the default settings, and all pairing information is deleted.
Note: The speaker cannot be initialized while the power is off.

I purchased this Sony XB100 at the end of Aug 2025. It is now mid-Nov 2025. The speaker will not hold a charge. Shuts off after 5 minutes. It's past the return window so I'm stuck with it. No more Sony speakers for me. They sound great. I just needed this to amplify my laptop's poor sound. So now I have to shop another brand.

Cant hear anything. Not worit at all. Its as loud as a cell phone bit had a little more bass. Add a few more bucks and get something else.

The Quality of sound coming from this is not what I thought it would be. I bought it for an outside speaker for my Daycare and for traveling to beaches.It is not loud enough at all. Very disappointing.

I wanted a smaller one because the other one i have falls over in the car and it doesn't fit in the cup holder. Really was not what i was hoping for. The volume very low and just not built like my prior 1 foot tall speaker which is also by Sony. I really don't recommend this speaker.

This speaker is horrible! It's not loud at all. It's definitely not made for a big radius of space. The sound doesn't go the distance for a individual to hear outside of the small region It's in. I'm returning mines. It's not even worth the sale price!

it was not the one I ordered. It was ordered wrong. I took it back to the store to replace it for the JVC and they said no to me. That is a disappointment. I wanted another JVC speaker.

Sound is very low and needs an app to even connect bluetooth. The only reason I haven’t returned it is because I don’t want to pay the 50% restocking fee per Best Buy’s. Policy.

I returned this speaker. It sounded great in store,… compared to my existing JBL clip the same song. Did not have the same quality sound and quieter.
