The speakers connect easily to your device and the battery lasts a good while. The problem is the volume is way too low on this speaker. I can get better volume on the phone itself than the volume from this speaker. But it’s cheap and it works.

Hate to say it but I was pretty disappointed in this item. The artificially added bass frequencies really chew up the sonic landscape unless the speaker is hanging (thus no reflective surface on the bottom). Also I had extreme difficulty pairing this with several devices. And yes, I know that sometimes we have to go thru the steps more than once but I'm talking about 20 times before it would eventually pair. This happened on no less than three source devices (a tablet, smartphone, PC, etc). I'd suggest to shoppers who notice things such as poorly reproduced bass frequencies look elsewhere. But it's cute, I like the size, and the controls were easy once it was paired.

This speaker looks great and was under $50 when I bought it, but the sound is not great and the volume is not loud. We tried to play it out side by the pool and you could barely hear it if you were 10 feet away from it. We had a Beats Pill previously that was great and you could hear it 50 yards away, but after 7 years it died and I went with this Sony because it was a good price and thought Sony had great products...they do, just not this speaker. If you want something to put on your desk at work to listen to music softly, this is your speaker. If you want to listen to music by the pool in the back yard, at a family gathering or in a warehouse environment...thus is NOT your speaker.

Sound is good. Do not like that you have to turn them on each time. I wanted them to put above cabinets for TV & music. So they are not going to work for me.

Sony name is on it but it’s a low sounding speaker I had heard it in store sound great but once I used it outside and at home sound was poor and really low even with Dolby atmos connected. I’ve had alter landing speakers louder and more solid bass. One positive I can say is that the design of the speaker is nice

The sound was not allowed at all and we were probably about four maybe 5 feet away from the speaker. I could barely hear it. It’s not an outdoor speaker. Let that be said maybe the outcome would’ve been a little better if I used in the bathroom. But the clerk at the store assured me that this was an outdoor speaker and would be able to hear it and we could not. I do not recommend this to anyone. It is not worth the price.

If you need something quick, it’ll do the job. Tried to use it for music video productions, was way too quiet. Needed something louder but it got the job done. That’s all it did though, you pay for what you get.

The product information said this speaker offers powerful, clear sound. It was anything but powerful. I was using it for my television and I had to crank the volume up as far as it would go, but I could hardly hear the audio even with the speaker sitting right next to me on the end table. I did not try listening to music -- maybe that would give a better result.

I purchased this for my husband he wanted something he can listen to while in the shower. Unfortunately the volume is too low and there’s no real bass. Not made with good quality.

Thank you for the review and we do apologize for the inconvenience. The sound quality will depend in the source, battery life and environment that you're playing. Also, the sound quality may change when water enters the speaker section of the system. If you have used the speaker in a location where may have been in contact with water, try the following procedure. Wipe off any moisture on the speaker's surface. Put the speaker on a dry soft cloth with the fabric part facing down to drain any water that may have collected inside the speaker. If the issue is resolved.
The issue was caused by water getting inside the speaker.
If the issue is not resolved, initialize your speaker and try again. Here's the link on how to.

This is an "OK" product specifically designed for a small closed area like a cubicle or small office and you will enjoy it. The downside is that the battery will drain fast and would recommend to have it charging to the wall or usb dock while using it and you'll be ok. I wouldn't recommend it for outdoor usage because is very small and the battery will not last that long

Does not play loud enough, have phone volume turned all the way up, have speaker turned all the way up? is clear , has very little bass, have old one different brand and plays 2x louder than the new Sony I just purchased (disappointed)

Thank you for your review, and we are sorry if the max volume/loudness and battery life of our XB100 didn't live up to your expectations. This is not the experience we were hoping you would have. For the loudness as well as the sound quality of the speaker, this usually depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. You can turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device to isolate the problem. Also, take note that sound becomes low while in use when the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.
Additionally, the SRS-XB100 can also be paired with another SRS-XB100 if you want an even bigger sound.
