For a Sony product I expected more. That's not to say that this little speaker doesn't do its job. It connects really easily and is ultra portable. The sound quality is decent, however it has trouble with kick drums or thumping bass at volumes over 50%. Call quality when using it to make phone calls is fine and the voices are crisp on my end and my voice was clear to the person on the other end. The strap on the side allows for good portability and allows me to hang it in places even on myself. which is nice when you're moving around. This is especially good because the speaker itself really shines in small to medium spaces and would not fair well in larger spaces due to the fact that at full volume it seems to strain on both ends of the spectrum for sound. The fact that it's waterproof makes it an idea showermate when you want to karaoke in the shower. I did download the "Sony Music Center" and "Fiestables" apps to see about additional functionality. The Music App allowed for me to see the battery level of the speaker (which is not available on the unit itself) But other than that it added no extra functionality to the speaker that I couldn't get out of my native music app. The Fiestable app was completely worthless when it came to speaker functionality and usage. Overall while I like this fun little speaker due it it's high portability, its lack of punching up to a larger sound within the Sony branding leaves me underwhelmed. College dorm, bathroom, bedroom, all good spaces for this; outdoors or larger spaces should look to find a speaker that will be able to handle sounds at a higher volume.

I purchased the Sony SRS-XB100 Portable Bluetooth Speaker and had a mixed experience. On Android, it worked perfectly—pairing was quick and the connection was stable. The sound quality is impressive for such a compact speaker, and the bass is especially strong for its size. However, I ran into issues when trying to connect it to iOS devices. I was never able to successfully pair it with my Apple device, despite multiple attempts. Because of this connectivity problem, I ended up returning it. Overall, great sound and performance on Android, but disappointing compatibility issues with iOS.

I purchased this product to provide better sound and portability when connecting to video meetings via phone and PC. The product itself is a nice sized, easy to use device that connects easily to phone and tablet devices. Sound quality is very good, as is the microphone. Connectivity and set up to get this working on a Win 11 PC is complex and difficult without a high level of capability, hence not suitable for a novice. The help available on the internet only takes you so far. While I have managed to get this working, it did require a few hours of investigation, trial and error, not simple plug and play with Bluetooth connectivity. Note, I would not recommend using the USB connection from your PC to the speaker and expecting it to work, I gave up on that.

Love the vibrant color which is what attracted me to the speaker. The sound is good; loud enough for a mid size room but I wish it was louder. The bass is nice and the sound comes out clear but for the price I would look into spending maybe a bit more on another speaker before picking this one but you won’t be mad if you do end up buying it

For the money, I had expected better, particularly given the solid brand name. The sound isn't bad, but nothing overly impressive. Unfortunately, my biggest issues with this speaker lie in its weak volume. I like to use these little guys to play music while I'm doing my 1-2 hour morning swim, and this one just doesn't have nearly the decibels of some of the less pricey models I've used in the past--in fact, when the filter is running I can barely hear anything (and I play a great deal of Def Leppard and AC/DC). Now the battery life does seem generous, and if my intended use was to keep the thing right at my side while I drink coffee on the deck, I'd probably be far more satisfied with my purchase, but for my current needs, I'll need to keep looking.

This is a very good speaker for indoors, small quiet area outside. I was trying to use it while washing my motorcycle and it was not loud enough to hear very well while moving around. I was hoping for more volume, but has amazing sound quality.

Okay for size. Easy to charge. Easy to store unit and also easy to carry and setup.

Great sound but need a little more volume and it would be perfect

Wanted to really like this speaker for the price. Also not having super high expectations either given the size. But since it was Sony I thought it would have decent sound. Sounded pretty flat, I’d prefer to spend a bit more for a better sounding small portable speaker to make it really worth it. Love the color, and size but sound was pretty meh.

Although the bass is strong the volume is a little weak. The battery life is about two hours of continuous use. Overall a bit disappointing.

The product sounded way better in store and it was kind of over hyped. My opinion is spend a little more and get an upgraded speaker. The size is nice and small though.

Although the sound is adequate, I own other Bluetooth speakers that produce overall better sound at the same price point. Although the sound quality is good, it could be better. I believe the price point on this speaker is a little high for the quality of sound it produces. For a "Knock around" speaker, it's fairly good, and I would recommend it if you can catch it on sale.

I was excited to purchase this mini Sony speaker for a pretty good price. However, it’s a bit of a miss. Of course, it’s small and it’s not meant to fill a room with sound but I also didn’t expect to have to hold the speaker super close to me in order to enjoy the sound. Overall, if you’ll be at your desk and want to listen to music, this is still a great choice. Battery life is 5 stars!

Given the opportunity, I will always go with a Sony produce. In this case, I really had nothing to compare it with, except for the displays at my local Best Buy store. Did some sound better? Yes. Similar models, at a much higher cost. This model sounded fine to me. To be honest, it was curiosity, more than need that brought me to my purchase. I have a really nice home audio system and listen to most of my music in that fashion. I wanted to know more, first hand, and now I do, and the cost was minimal. It doesn't sound like a good, stereo system, but it's not designed to. This is as good a place as any to dip your toe in the water and see if you wish to invest more down the line. It's knowledge, and you don't put a price tag on that.

I recently purchased the Sony XB100 speakers with high hopes. However, my experience has been a mixed bag. Firstly, the speakers work seamlessly with my phone and Linux computer, delivering excellent audio quality. The setup process was smooth. However, when attempting to use the speakers with my Windows 11 device, I encountered significant issues. Despite the website claiming compatibility with Windows, the speaker connected but I didn't hear any sound from them. Even tried to reset the speaker but the issue persists. On a positive note, I experimented with stereo configuration using another speaker, and it worked flawlessly. This suggests that the issue lies specifically with compatibility with Windows 11 rather than with the speakers themselves.

Overall I have been pleased with my speaker it has a nice sound it's good for the price point

It’s battery lasts a long while but I think i messed something up because it’s not as loud when I first bought it.
