I really like the size of the camera. The camera it’s self is okay. Takes decent picture. The thing that irritates me is that it’s suppose to be able to wirelessly up load but Sony no longer updates the app so it’s useless. I use Apple products but I had someone else try with a Microsoft laptop. It also doesn’t want to connect to my laptop via usb. It’s suppose to be able to Bluetooth downloads to your phone and it doesn’t. The only way I can get my videos is through the memory card and that’s also a pain because I use a tripod. So I have to remove the camera and the connector every single time. I wish I was able to still return it. I was using my cousins canon eso rebel sl2 before I bought this camera. I really wish I would have just bought that one.

If you’re a tuallyjust going for vlogs and they’re out of cameras, just be patient and save. The battery doesn’t last that long to take it outside without a portable. As fun as it is for vlogs. It fills space pretty quickly obv depending on the disk, buti bought a 100+ one and it still fills up odd enough. I’m more of a car, video type person so probably should’ve just waited for the other camera I was intending to get. Don’t settle. Just wait. can’t return because of timing but it is what it is.

For carrying around and taking short video its great! It's very portable, light weight and takes great 4k footage. Unfortunately it overheats when streaming in 4k. Most of the time I can get 25 minutes or so, but recently its been as little as 20 minutes. I've changed the Hi temp shutoff without any changes.

I bought this camera brand new in store, the associate ordered it for me and shipped it to my house. After doing all trouble shooting, it still drained the battery and got hot within 15 minutes, 4 batteries later, I called Sony, and they said this product was already issued to someone and returned as DEFECTIVE. BEST BUY SOLD ME A USED DEFECTIVE CAMERA AS BRAND NEW! If I didnt have the "plus membership", I would have had only 14 days to return it, it took 3 people to talk to before they told me I suddenly had 60 days to return it... DO NOT BUY FROM BESTBUY! Absolute garbage.

Terrible. This product should be listed as fraudulent. Advertised as a vlogers camera - cannot stay on for more than 5 minutes without overheating. If you are a vlogger and use a Mac - like 99% of the creative world - THIS WILL NOT SYNC UP WITH YOUR MAC - you cannot use it as a vlogers camera. 1) it'll over heat in 5 minutes so talk fast and 2) you are required to use Sony's software and it makes everything look like a claymation. The quality of the video when importing to your computer, looks about 85% worse than the view finder Quality - it looks worse than an iPhone 12. Low light is unusable and looks over exposed and grainy. Color accuracy... either the sky is white or this camera sucks. There's minor adjustments you can make, but it takes a long time to adjust and has next to no smart features - this camera is almost 100% manual usage for adjustments. There's no preset or automation on it, focusing struggles all the time in all setting. If you use studio lights of any sort (LED's), the refresh rate cannot be adjusted to avoid lines on a screen. In adjusting the refresh rate. Battery Life- maybe 15 minutes when recording. You cannot plug it in and use it forever - 1) it'll overheat in 5 minutes - 2) the batter still drains even when plugged in and recording. Eventually you have to sit and wait for a while to recharge it if you do not have a spare. So if you read this far and still want this camera - buy like 15 $40 batteries - you will need every single one... also a portable freezer to cool it off would be good. Picture quality as a camera is horrendous. it really struggles to focus. All photos came out fuzzy/blurry when not using a tripod - shutter adjustments did nothing. PLEASE NOTE - This is my 3rd ZV-1 I've tested - the first two had the EXACT same issue - I was assured by Sony that it was just a bad device... it is not. This is a $750 paper weight that turns on and off.

Just received this camera today and it overheated on me twice. I wasn't even recording or taking photos. I was in settings changing things up for about 10 minutes and a message popped up that internal heat was high and it turned off. Took out the battery and it was hot. Turned it back on for about two minutes and received the same message and turned off again. Now I have to wait for a replacement. Keeping it 1 star until I receive replacement and it does not overheat on me the first 10 minutes. Hopefully it's just a faulty camera.

I got this with the intention to use it for a webcam and to do videos for my YouTube channel. The focus is great, but unless you use it on a tripod and or gimble all of the time, it’s jittery and the video stabilization is horrible. For the same price, I traded it in and got the A6100 and it focuses faster and is way more stable and the battery life is better. I tried to use the ZV-1 as a webcam and even though I had is set to charge with USB it would die. My A6100, while it doesn’t stay charged can go 12 hours while plugged in and connected to the Sony Image edge software and being used for streaming as a webcam. I wouldn’t recommend this for anything that’s not just on a tripod. Unless you want to invites a few hundred dollars more, stay away from this camera. Not recommended.

One thing to note regarding the stabilization settings, there are actually two different options in Movie Mode (Active or Standard) that are available to try to see if it helps with the jittery footage. Also, we recommend the Sony Vlogger Accessory Kit to be use with the ZV-1.

I have been a Canon and Panasonic camera owner for years. Their cameras just keep on going and going. I wanted a more updated camera that was a point and shoot so I gave the Sony ZV-1 a shot. I ordered it a month ago online for a family vacation this week. I got it out Saturday and set it up and all seemed ok. I tried it today and it is dead. I called Sony and they wanted me to send it back to them for repair. They suggested that I contact Bestbuy for a replacement. I called Bestbuy and guess what. The said that they couldn't help me and want me to contact Sony back. Bestbuy said that I could bring it into a store but if they repair it they will charge me. I have been a Bestbuy credit card holder for 30+ years. To conclude do not buy this Sony camera if you want a camera that you can depend on. Poor product quality and poor customer service. Bestbuy customer service is no better.

It's a decent camera, probably 4 stars, but at this price there's no reason to get this over the new Mark II version which has +Better Menu +USB-C +touch screen controls +Wider lens 18mm vs 24mm which makes a big difference +Tripod socket hole is moved so it's not in the way of the battery door. With the Mark I you get.... -70mm zoom vs 50mm on Mark II which isn't really that big of a difference. Since it's 20MP you can always punch in. It's much less of a difference than 18 vs 24mm. -slightly better video stabilization. -tripod hole too close to battery door. The upgrades on the Mark II may sound like small updates, but it will make your life so much easier. I took the Mark 1 on a vacation and a newer Sony camera with all of these upgrades, and the Mark 1 was annoying to use. If you pick up any of these, I would consider getting a handle grip. The ergonomics of either the Mark I or Mark II aren't good since the camera is tiny. You won't be able to pocket it anymore but feels better.

Terrible camera, always overheats, sent in for repairs during warranty for same issue and manufacture did a micky mouse repair till the warranty expired and it is doing the same thing again. Save your money and buy something else because this camera was supposed to be the best but it’s not! Purchased myself, paid for myself, my honest opinion.

Decided to get this camera due to the specifications which met my needs perfectly. However, I just started using the camera and it just shut down because "the internal temperature needs to cool down." I did not even realize it was heating because its on the tripod and the craziest part I used it to maybe 15 minutes. A brand new camera, and the first time I use it that to minimally and it's heating up, absolutely appalling. I felt the camera and it was hot. DO NOT BUY! I used it for 2-3 minutes initially when I bought it and no issues. So I did not return it and now my return period is over.Now I am stuck with this horrible camera. Sony you really disappointed me with this. Do not get this camera even if someone gifts it to you or you find it on the floor, trust me you are better off without it. Get another camera.

Bought this because i was told it is the canon g7x dupe. This camera is not for pictures its mostly for vlogging, dont recommend if you are looking for nice pictures. Setting are complicated and pictures come out blurry

Overheats! Yes, I changed the setting so it would not overheat but it still does so you only get about 38 minutes out of it before it shuts down.
