Formed in 1956 by banjoist Vince Saunders, the South Frisco Jazz Band is an eight piece traditional jazz band featuring the acclaimed two-cornet sound of King Oliver's legendary Creole Jazz Band of 1923. Recorded in November 1968 and released with Los Angeles West Coast tag Vault Records; presented here is their classic 1969 recording InchHot Tamale ManInch featuring Vince Saunders (banjo), Roy Brewer (trombone), Bob Rann (tuba), Mike Baird (alto sax, clarinet), Roy Ortmann (piano), Ray Ronnel (cornet, vocals) and, Bob Raggio (percussion) showcasing their remarkable and often overlooked jazz talents on tracks including 'Sweet Lotus Blossom' and 'South Frisco Blues'.
