But I found out I didn't need it for the WD Passport 2TB external hard drive because it came with a cord that plugged in to the USB port on my tower and instantly set up and connected. But I'm sure I'll need eventually.

got this instead of putting my second HD in the system...works great with no problems.recommend this for ppl who do not want to put extra HD's inside the case,also easy to exchange with new HD's.
