The cameras can be remotely accessed and controlled using the Swann Security application for free right out of the box. Yes, this system works with the Swann Security app, it's actually the same NVW-800 NVR model inside both kit options, the only thing that changes between the 1080p & 4K versions of this kit are the camera models. Did you have your original NVW-800 successfully connected to the internet before pairing it to the app? With this NVR you have the choice of running an ethernet cable between the NVR and your router, or you can connect it via Wi-Fi instead if you prefer.
