The Swann SwannForce 8 Channel 2TB NVR security system is packed with the latest surveillance tech such as night vision, sensor spotlights, motion detection recording, and smartphone integration. Each of the 4 Bullet cameras features 4K High Definition recording. You'll be able to see fine details essential for evidence with state-of-the-art powerful digital zoom to actively watch over entrances, yards, driveways, parking lots, shop floors, storerooms, and customer service areas. The 4K Pan and Tilt Camera has bright spotlights, red and blue flashing lights, two-way audio, and a loud siren, so you can intimidate intruders and prevent unwanted activity, and these features are controllable remotely in the Swann Security app. The Pan and Tilt function enables you to control the field of view remotely, so you can pan horizontally 355 degrees and vertically 90 degrees. With the Swann Security app, you can even watch live or playback videos on your smartphone from anywhere in the world. In fact, you can view any of the cameras on your smart TV, and speak to see hands-free via Hey Google and Alexa devices. Know what’s happening at any hour with powerful infrared night vision and the ability to see color video at night. Swann’s True Detect heat and motion detection sense people and cars for more reliable monitoring and fewer false alarms. Set up Person Detection at certain times of the day to trigger recording and alerts. Mount the cameras inside or outdoors as their weatherproof design is built to withstand rain, snow, and heat, all year round. With this system, you’ll get free local recording for up to 180 days+ onto the massive 2TB hard drive with no subscription fees ever and the option to backup video to your Dropbox account.
A: Hi Ryan. An internet connection is required if you wish to view the system remotely on your phone, & for software updates. If you don't need to view it on your phone and are happy to view as a local system on a monitor instead, then you don't need any internet connection. The clips get recorded to the hard drive and you can play them back on a monitor connected to the NVR. - SD, Swann Team
Q: Can this system send alert to I=phone? send video to i-phone?
A: Hello Ed, yes, this system can send push alert notifications to your phone through the SwannSecurity app. Once you click on the notification, the app will take you to the camera in question as long as the device is connected to the internet. - LV, Swann Team

A: Hi BigRick. This particular system is an NVR (Network Video Recorder) which means that Power Over Ethernet cables run between the back of the NVR unit and each camera. The cameras draw their power from the NVR unit and also transmit their video and audio over the same cable. The official spec around Cat5/Cat6 ethernet cables is that they can be up to 100metres (330ft) maximum distance. If you need to run longer than that the recommendation is to add a network switch at each 300ft (90m) mark and then run a second cable from there. As it's a networked system, you may also have other ways to get the camera connected to the network at its location and then go back to the NVR box via an existing network rather than a direct wired connection. Swann sell a 200ft (60m) ethernet extension cable under model code SWNHD-60MCAT5E, or many professional installers will run their own cabling and then terminate the cable at the exact length that is needed. The 600ft distance you’re looking to cover is very large and will be quite challenging so we would strongly recommend plugging all the cables/cameras/recorders in first and checking everything looks OK before going ahead with a full installation and putting the cables through walls etc. You may also wish to get professional advice from an installer based on your exact location and setup. -SD, Swann Product Management
Q: Does this one work at 240 energy?
A: Outlets in the US that are 240 have a different plug style and highly doubt you can use this system on one. Dryers and electric stoves are appliances that typically use a 240volt
