I purchased this item for supplemental cooling on a 16" gaming laptop. CPU and GPU temps under load were about 2 degrees C lower than using the laptop on a hard flat surface.... basically negligible. I would like to imagine there are cases in which this may be a useful product. This likely provides better airflow that a pile of blankets. I ordered a different cooling pad at the $80-100 price point and it does exactly what I needed.
