Latches that hold the shoulder strap can undo themselves. I was walking through an airport and all of a sudden the laptop case dropped to the floor. Latches did not break and were in tact. But now I have a $2800 laptop with a cracked screen.

The Classic Slim Briefcase includes a limited lifetime warranty, which covers defects in the bag itself but does not extend to damage of the laptop or other devices carried inside. The strap latches should not come undone, and we’d like to help with a review of your case and possible replacement of the bag if needed.

My strap suddenly came off on one end so a corner of my laptop hit the ground. Screen broke and one corner of the laptop dented. The bad provided no protection. I reached out to Targus and they denied responsibility. Way to back your product.

I ended up returning it. Not as much padding on the straps as I would’ve liked.
