As someone that owns multiple Sony OLED's I find the picture quality of this TV to be incredibly surprising for the money. It sort of bugs me it's so good for so little money! If you need a TV for a secondary location (or if you're someone that just doesn't want to spend a ton on a TV) that gets bright, has great color, and is solid for gaming, it's tough to go wrong. That said, leave some room in the budget for your favorite streaming device. Even though this TV features Google TV, it runs it so poorly (even with the latest software updates) that it's an exercise in frustration just to use it. Shame, because the remote isn't bad, even if it's kinda cheap plastic. Slap a streaming device (I'm an Apple TV person) into one of the HDMI ports and your'e good to go. Yes, I'm using mine outside. I'd rather go through three of these than purchase an overpriced outdoor television.

Great tv especially for the price. Some of the apps like paramount tend to freeze the tv. I’m not sure what is going on. I have had other TVs do the same thing. The blacks are super black and colors honestly pop- especially when you are watching true hdr content. I like that an icon pops up in the corner so you know exactly what quality you are watching when it first starts. I am very happy with the tv.

To preface we used a Chromecast with Google TV running version 11 and moved that to the bedroom TV. We purchased this TV as a much needed upgrade over our 6 year old 50 inch Samsung for the living room. Read stellar reviews on this TV from back when it was released and chose it over a similar Samsung due to the Google TV integration as we are a Google house. Great! Out of the box it was easy to set up through Google Home and while the out of the box picture wasn't great I knew that going in to do my own calibration which was fine. However navigating this integrated Google TV is where we started to have issues. This newer version 12 on this TV doesn't run anywhere near as smooth as our Chromecast. The interface is laggy, the on screen suggestions and apps are slow to load, the apps themselves do not load smoothly after choosing. I reached out to TCL and got a laundry list of methods to choose which ultimately led to a master reset. Going through setup again and now connected to an Ethernet cable the tv does run smoother but I am still having issues with certain apps. The TNT app is one I use more than others for live sports but there are extremely inconsistent audio issues every time I use the app. The sound on the tv or through my soundbar must be turned up to 100 to be barely audible. In contrast any other app only needs to be at a level of 8-20 under any circumstances to be heard from a quiet midnight show to a loud the tv can be heard over my kids chaos situation. I then play with the sound settings each time I launch the app for it to only get marginally better to be audible around 60-70. I can't recreate these audio issues on my Chromecast dongle or a Fire Stick plugged directly to this tv. It's all internal on this integrated Google TV interface. Other apps such as NBC Sports will lag and repeatedly play the same 3-5 seconds of content and fall behind the live broadcast. HBO Max and Disney load very slow and are buggy and it takes 30+ seconds for tiles to load and selections take way longer than they should to load the next screen. Again these are issues that I don't encounter using the a Chromecast or Fire Stick dongle. I love the picture but I don't understand how Google TV could run so much worse when built into the TV. The TV ran an auto-update a few days ago but none of my issues I have encountered were fixed after the update. I am on the fence to exchange the TV for another unit (if I get the same buggy performance all the work unmounting, repackaging and trip to the store is for nothing), buy another Chromecast to use on this TV (extremely redundant) or just ditch TCL and pay way more for another brand QLED TV...

Great value for what you pay. The tv is not perfect because the speakers aren’t the best but if you have a sound bar you’ll be fine

Good tv. I’d recommend spending the extra 200-300 for either a bit bigger or better quality but good for a starter 4k

Was looking for a good TV for the living room, and tech sites had this one high up in the picture quality department. Great picture, recommendation would be to use a soundbar though. 9/10

Maybe the colors arent as grear but with some adjusting you can tune it up. Makes me want to watch all my older batman movies again and played with series s with the vrr support it looks great. They updated the tv with software so it isnt as buggy as some were saying before. Great quality tv for a great price

Fifteen months after I purchased this TCL HDTV, some internal components (one or more backlights) failed. The result is a large, dim, green-tinted splotch in the middle of the screen. It ruins my viewing experience; you can check the photos for yourself. I contacted two different local repair services, and both told me that TCL 4K models are especially prone to this defect. They both told me not to repair the unit, because the same malfunction would likely happen again. Instead, they told me that I should buy a new model from a different brand. So if you intend to use your 4K TV for longer than a year, avoid this product and avoid TCL.
