--- SETUP --- This is a heavy TV. At close to 110 lbs, you will need someone to help you carry it. It’s also deceptively long from pictures alone. The width of the product is 74 inches, so plan on having at least 80 inches of space to put it on. Since the factory legs are installed at the edge of the TV, I had to buy a different leg stand compatible with the VESA mount 600 x 400. This made the feet more centered and allowed me to put it on a space less than 74 inches. It also added height to the TV, allowing space for my Sonos Arc soundbar. --- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS --- This TV performs like a dream. Because it is a smart TV, you do not need anything else other than a WiFi connection to enjoy apps you already subscribe to. The remote has a Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, TCLTV, and Free TV buttons. There’s also a STAR button that you can customize to your favorite app or setting. My favorite part of the remote is the side buttons that control the brightness of the TV without having to go deep into the menus. Also, the Google microphone does a great job at doing what you say outloud. You don’t even need the remote for voice activation. You can just say: “Google, TV OFF” and the TV will turn off. Other favorites are: Google, HDMI 1, Google, Xbox, and so on. With modern TVs, you need color calibration. That is a service that Best Buy provides, which I highly recommend. However, it is also possible to calibrate using an Xbox. I used my Series X to calibrate it for video gaming under game mode, and for movies under film mode. After the calibration, the images look very life-like and not too oversaturated. When properly calibrated, some people find the image to be darker than they expect. This is because TV displays at stores raise the saturation to grab your attention. This is where the brightness button on the side of the remote comes in handy, as you can adjust depending on the lighting in your room. The lighting in my room changes because of a window. It’s bright during the day, and dark during the night. The TV supports Dolby Vision, and has both a bright and a dark setting for such occasions. Adjust accordingly. This TV has an HDMI Arc (HDMI 1). What this means is that you can connect a soundbar that also has Arc support and control the volume with the TCL remote. I have a whole Sonos Arc surround sound system. Initially, I couldn’t raise the volume too high. Unplugging and replugging the Sonos sound bar fixed that. For the soundbar to work, you need to allow the audio to “passthrough,” which is a sound setting on the TV. In doing so, the TV itself won’t say that you are listening to Dolby Atmos sound. This is because of the passthrough setting, but the Sonos app should say that you are listening to audio with Dolby Atmos. I can play my Xbox and watch my movies at the highest 4K HDR quality and sound for an amazing theatre-like experience. --- APPROVAL --- If you can afford this TV, it is definitely one to get for an immersive theatrical experience. Pair it up with a Dolby Atmos supported soundbar and surround sound system, and you’ll be golden.

First of all let me make it clear that the TCL - 85" X11L Series 4K UHD HDR SQD-Mini LED Smart TV with Google TV (2026) is not PERFECT.... but it's so close to being perfect that it might as well be. The engineers, designers, and everyone else that had a hand in making this TV coordinated and came together to make a product with the least amount of compromises that has ever been acomplishec to this day in a high end television. From the sound system (BANG & OLUFSEN) to the beautiful picture (20,000 local dimming zones) to the incredible thin bezels and screen thickness. This TV is nothing short of a modern miracle! Are there a few things I would like to be improved? Sure... It's heavy and akward to get the stands installed. The directions recommend 3 people, but I was able to do it by myself... but I would recommend using 3 people like the instructions say. I use my TV connected to my Gaming PC, and also as a home theater PC... so basically it's a PC screen that I use for gaming, and for watching media content, but also I use it as a large PC monitor. And as a PC monitor it did need a lot of adjustments and specific settings to get everything tuned in correctly. Otherwise it had issues of the dynamic brightness and automatic dimming features spazzing out. The intelligent screen features just aren't intelligent enough yet to be used as a PC monitor, but fortunately if they are all disabled and the TV is used in a static non auto adjusting mode, then it is able to be manually adjusted to where it works perfectly, and looks amazing. Let me also add that the Smart TV features are out of this world. First of all this TV picks up 74 local channels! And there are over 300 channels available between the Google TV and the TCL tv streaming options. I don't have Apple Air play, but that adds even more TV options if you have it. With this TV there really is no reason to subscribe to cable. While I'm mentioning changing to extra channels etc, let me mention the remote control... hands down the best remote control I've ever recieved with any TV... very intuitive, the exact buttons needed without any of the fluff... lights up discretely just bright enough to see what I'm doing but not to bright so its a distraction. It's minimal, but has everything I need, and is super easy to use. The best feature is the brightness buttons on the side of the remote. I've never had a remote that had those before, but now that I have I never want another remote that doesn't have them! They are so useful! Especially in super dark scenes if you want to brighten it up a bit to see if there are any details in the back ground that you are missing. And as far as back gound details are concerned, if you can't see them with this TV it isn't the TV's fault, it's the source material. I used this TV streaming content in 4k, and then I rewatched the same movies with my Oppo UDP-205 media player. And what at first might look like a flw on the TV's part is actually streaming compression. When watched again with the Oppo UDP-205 I was able to see depth and detail in the background images that I never knew were there before... This TV also revealed things in everyday web pages that I've been viewing for years that I never noticed before. So over all is this TV perfect? No... but is it better than everything else I have ever had the experience to try? Absolutely! This TV is leaps and bounds better than everything else that has come before it, and I look forward to seeing what TCL does in the future! Easily 5 stars, and I highly recommend!

The X11L series is TCL’s latest flagship TV. If you’re in the market for for a high-end TV that gives you the best picture money can buy, this one should be on your shortlist, if not at the top. I had been looking to upgrade my TV and the picture on this is miles ahead of what I currently have. PROs • Picture Quality – This is why you’d purchase this TV. The brightness it can handle is simply stellar. If your room is bright, this TV will easily overcome any ambient light without washing out the image. On the other end, though it won’t get quite as accurate blacks as an OLED TV, you are not going to notice that unless you’re taking serious measurements for some reason. • Remote – It’s a functional remote with backlighting. I really appreciate that there are side buttons to adjust the brightness of the TV, just in case you need to do that manually. Similarly, a side button lets you pick the picture mode. • Sound – The TV has built-in speakers by Bang & Olufsen. You can optionally add wireless satellite speakers and a wireless subwoofer, eliminating the need to also add an external sound bar while getting full surround sound. • Google TV – I personally prefer this operating system over the built-in ones created by TV makers themselves. It’s well integrated into the Google ecosystem. • 144Hz Refresh – This refresh rate combined with TCL’s motion enhancement lets you watch sports with crispness and clarity and reduce blur. A quick way to take advantage of this is by switching the Picture Mode to Sports. CONs • Expensive – This is not to say you don’t get value for the money, but you do pay a premium for getting arguably the best picture available currently. • Remote – While I like the remote, I wish it had a number pad for direct channel input. It does have voice input, though, to counter the need for it. • Heavy – This is an artifact of its size and solid speakers. It’s nearly 113 pounds (116 pounds with the stand). You will need three people to safely mount this to a wall. The bottom line is if it’s in your budget, you will not be disappointed with this TV.

OK first off this thing is massive. I mean the box is intimidating and let me tell you, they are right when they say this is a two-man job but if you are confident enough, you can knock it out by yourself like I did…but ONLY if you’re putting it on a cabinet/stand. I still don’t recommend it! This thing is absolutely stunning, and I’ve never said that about a tv. The thin bezel, the deep rose/copper gunmetal, the beautifully crafted matching Bang & Olufsen speakers, every detail is precise and…pretty. I seriously can’t believe this is how I’m describing a tv. If you’re into varying contrasts & textures, you may really like the aesthetic of the smooth brushed finish along the lower front grille paired against the almost-squared starburst pattern on the back of the panel, supported by metal wedge-shaped support feet with an integrated cord sleeve along the rear of both feet. Setup- talk about a breeze… The initial setup requires a Google account and a TCL account just full transparency. There’s no way to opt out, at least not that I’ve been able to find. But once connected, the process is seamless…..or at least it’s supposed to be. For me, I had trouble creating the tcl account as it cycled through sending verification code via email which never came. I was able to get by this minor hiccup after a few minutes of attempts. The Home Screen is immersive, up front and immediately it’s “you” on a screen. Your accounts, your recommendations, all spread across 85” of mini-led 4k beauty. From the list of “my apps” to the top picks, and all the top watched & new released everything is ready for scrolling. This tv comes loaded with the apps everyone’s on right now. Mixed in are other suggested apps. I can’t stress enough how “known” I feel, almost as if this “homescreen” extends a bit further than the typical homescreens on other smart tv’s. The suggested videos don’t help as they pull from my streaming account, so all in all I’d say this tv makes you feel familiar, which mentally of course is supposed to reduce the learning curve for a new screen. Now, for the view…I have to say this is quite clear…the colors are vivid and bold, that’s actually an understatement. The clarity in everything I’ve watched is unreal…down to the finger prints, the steaks left behind by a towel, water stains while the sun beams on an object, it’s literally crystal clear. And the motion is smooth, I mean silky smooth..Take for example the pic here, this is a pic I took on my phone, while a YT video was on pause, showing the reflection in the eye of a tiger of a person walking by. That clarity is phenomenal! I’ve not missed a single detail while viewing this screen. Though I’m not a tv/visual expert I can tell you this model has seriously amazing black color reproduction, but the white balance needs a little love to get it to the right tone/hue. For some reason the white reproduction is showing really warm, even on objects that should be flat or completely stark white, like “perfect” clouds, they have a slightly yellow hue even after adjusting settings. Or, maybe I haven’t found the right setting yet. When connected to a gaming system the graphics really show through. I have a PS5 so that + HDR10 is beautiful for any gamer. I tested an F1 game and felt fully immersed in the movements through every hairpin turn. I found it pretty impossible to find any fault in the graphic performance. Seriously this thing is beyond amazing. I can’t emphasize enough the depth of the colors, I mean deep vibrant colors. B&O, oh how you’ve wow’d me. For in-unit sound, the bang & olufsen speakers on this beauty are really REALLY good. So good that in my initial test I had touch my subwoofer to make sure it wasn’t on. B&O really came through with great sound. The treble and high frequencies are strong, not harsh or scratchy so even at higher volumes. Mid-bass fills nicely, but the bass….thats the star. I can’t explain enough that the bass response for these speakers….no, flat out the speakers are flat out amazing, like amazing and carry the 1. This tv gives the feeling of sound coming through the screen at all angles and literally leaves you without “needing” a soundbar. But, when you do, this tv takes you to another level of viewing. One gripe I have found is with clarity around an object in-frame, there tends to be a bit of blur and pixelation in instances where there is a zoomed-in view on some objects. I emphasize, SOME, not all. I also haven’t figured out what the specific “thing” is that causes the lapse in clarity and pixelation. If this helps, I noticed it while watching a 4K Blu-ray movie, it wasn’t constant, I noticed it 4-5 times throughout a 2+ hour movie. I’ve yet to find any latency in the refresh rate as all motion has been extremely smooth. Another gripe I have is the lack of volume control when paired with a sound bar via an optical connection. Other TV’s have the ability to control the volume regardless of the connection. With this unit, it tells me it cannot control the soundbar. This is an inconvenience, a minor one, but an inconvenience nonetheless. It would be nice to only use one remote for at least video and audio, for once. Ok, I’ve said a lot. But this tv has a lot to offer. It’s not just a tv, it’s an experience wrapped in elegance. The absolute depth of colors are stunning. That’s me putting it respectfully. It’s actually pretty ridiculous how stunning this tv is. There’s absolutely no way I wouldn’t recommend this tv to anyone that is ready to step into a viewing experience every time you press that power button. Get it, GET IT! You won’t regret this at all, like not even a little bit. Oh, did I say it’s massive!? Because it is!

The TCL 85" X11L Series 4k UHD HDR DQD-Mini LED Smart TV with Google TV has exceeded my expectations. You can tell that this is one of those items that feels worth it from the moment you turn it on. Fromt he size and visual impact to the smart features and overall performace, it delivers a truly impressive experience that make everyday viewing feel elevated. The first thing that stands out is the size. at 85 inches, it completly transforms the room and becomes the centerpiece. Watching anything on this screen feels immersive, whether it's movies, sports, or just the mroning news. The opicture quality is outstanding. The mini LED technology combined with the 4K resolution produces sharp detail, rich contract, and vibrant colors that look natural rather than overdone. Bright scenes really pop, while darker scnend still hold onto importnant details instead of getting lost. One thing I did not expect, but definitly noticed, is how revealing hte large screen can be., You really start to see the age of some of the beloved TV personalities ont he news and mornings shows. It almost scary at times because the clarity is so good that nothing is hidden. it just goes to show how powerful and detailed the picture quality really is and makes me never want to be on on television. Getting the TV set up with the stands was very easy. The instructions were clear, and the process felt straigtforward and manageble. It actually tells you to leave t in the box and leave it on one piece of styrofoam to make it easier to install the stands. The stand itself feels sturdy and well designed. so if you plan to use it on a console or media stand, you will have no issues and can get it set up very quickly. Ours ended up being too small - so we have decided to hang it on the wall. The process of hanging it on the wall was a little more challanging for us - but not because of the TV it self. The TV uses a VESA 600mm by 400mm mount, which I ordered ahead of time. What I didn't realize was my home has steel wall studs instead of wood. We had to spend extra time find the right tools, ordering exta hardward to make sure everything was secure. The design of this TV is sleek and modern with very thin bezels that keep your focus on the screen. Mounted ont he wall, it looks clean and high end, almost like a piece of art. The Google TV interface is another highlight. it is intuitive, easy to navigate, and quick to set up. Logging into apps and streaming servies was simple, and everything is organized in a way that makes it easy to find something to watch. The voice control feature is a nice touch and works well for searching content fo opening apps withour having to push the buttons. The built in sound is awesome. I just remembered I havn't even reconnected my soundbar yet. The sound is clear, and perfectly fine for everyday use. Overall, I am extremely happy with thsi TV. The combination of size, picture quality, and smart features make it feel like a true upgrade in every sense. I hope it lasts for many years! Even with the extra effort to mount it into the steel studs, it was well worth it.

This is by far the biggest television we have ever owned and had in this house. We have a small 1500 sq ft home but our living room has high ceilings. The living room is where I like to watch movies and getting this tv was a no brainer. Hubby and I took it out the box but that was as far as we got. We hired a professional installer to mount it to our wall. Mind you our house is built in the 70’s but built well and could handle the 200 lbs. which was the tv and the mount weight together. Getting it the right height was the only hard part in this entire installation. Also making sure you sound matches your tv is very important. After plugging it up and connecting to my internet/wifi I was able to upload all my apps and the tcl app free tv was easy to use as well. It took a minute to get use to the button landscape of the remote but it lights up when you pick it up so there really isn’t any guessing. I really like that. Over all I’m in love with this television and I don’t plan on changing anytime soon.

Oh boy where can I even start with this review there is so much to discuss. Are you searching for a new television and interested in the latest and greatest then look no further than the TCL X11L I was excited to get the 85-inch version and boy it is heavy it and takes up more space than I imagined in my head. This is my first large screen television as I have never owned anything larger than a 55. I thankfully had help getting it upstairs and after unboxing it which was a chore because I am in a medium space. I opted not to wall mount it because it is less work and I do not have to worry about it falling off my wall I know it sounds unreasonable but I don’t have confidence that my walls would hold a 120lb television. The design is premium and the speakers are premium with a small front facing speaker as well. This benefits me greatly because my space isn’t as large and the acoustics are better as a result of less space for the sound to travel. I have a Sony Blu-ray player, PS5 and a Switch 2 hooked up and they all look phenomenal. I played Battlefield 6 and once I calibrated the HDR settings everything was dialed in and looked awesome the bright scenes were amazing and the dark scenes in the game were visible without being unable to see sometimes like you would on an OLED. :::General Thoughts::: I have had this for short period of time and I want to make a disclaimer I am coming from a C2 OLED so I have been able to experience the best of both worlds Mini LED & OLED. I got tired of constantly not being able to see what I am watching as I am more often than not in a bright environment so my previous television could not display the best picture for my liking and by it could never get as bright as I would have liked. But with the X11L I do not have that issue as brightness is not an issue as this is capable of getting crazy bright which makes content consumption a much more enjoyable experience. :::Pros & Cons::: Pros: - Large screen size (85 inch) - B&O Speakers - Premium design that is aesthetically pleasing - Stable feet for table top placement (if you don’t wall mount) - Remote control is solid, premium and backlit - Google TV OS - Has all the bells & whistles - Beautiful bright & vivid colors - Brightest TV you can get at the present time - Plenty of input - Easy to setup & use Cons: None I can think of Who is this TV for? It is for someone who enjoy spending time watch movies, shows and playing games. The larger the screen the more immersive the experience you’ll have. I was curious about the 98-inch variant but I am perfectly happy with my 85 it literally almost takes up the space of the wall in my living room. As long as you have the space and money, you’ll enjoy everything this television has to offer. I do not play multiplayer games and enjoyed my time with my PS5 don’t let anyone try to dissuade you from getting this to play games I did not experience input lag, and it has all the features you’ll want like VRR & ALLM for console and PC gaming. You’ll have 120hz for consoles and 144 for PC as long as you have a capable graphics card on your PC. I have to state that I was impressed while gaming because the built-in speakers really shine when gaming and they come to life with the right content and sound settings enabled I do not have to put it past 16 and the bass sounds good while fighting the enemy in Battlefield 6. I haven’t found the sweet spot with movies but I am still learning all the things the X11L can do every day. :::Picture & Sound::: These are subjective as each user does not consume content in the same manner nor do we have the same preferences. You can adjust picture settings to your liking as well as audio. If you don’t think it is immersive enough you can get an audio system of your liking. Overall, I have been spending more time gaming and watching television and find it more enjoyable as a result of having this premium TV from TCL. I never knew that TCL made such great televisions and it can only get better if they follow through with the plan they have discussed with Sony. : ::TL;DR::: If you want the best Mini-LED TV then this is the latest and greatest look no further. You will enjoy watching it every chance you get.

The latest TCL - 85" X11L mini LED TV is a flagship television designed to compete with all big TV names. It is super bright, bold and fitted with every top-of-the-line feature. The TV boasts support for Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10 Plus, HDR10 and HLG, and includes an audio system by Bang and Olufsen with support for Dolby Atmos. For all the nitty, gritty technical features, the Best Buy website outlines it perfectly. Physical set up – As one would expect, the TV is big and heavy. TCL states the X11L will fit a gamut of VESA mounts. However, that turned out not to be the case. I was going to have trouble mounting it to my wall and it would the feet were too far apart to fit on my tv dresser. I currently have a LG 77’ but it has a center stand. I went to Best buy and spoke to the sales associate about the largest tabletop stand and I was shown the Sanus Elite TV stand for TV’s up to 88 inch. It looked good on paper but the mounting holes on the TV were too far apart, and it could not be used. I was able to get some center legs to mount to the VESA holes that were tall enough, but it is not as stable as I would like. The reality is this TV is best suited to be wall mounted. Getting the TV up and running – This was the best experience I have had with setting up a TV. The Google TV was seamless, incredibly fast and perfect. Even with the updates, I was up and running in a few minutes. I have set up Hisense, Samsung, Vizio and two different LG OLED’s in the past few years and the TCL was the best. The remote – Simple and uncluttered with a nice backlight. It is hard to compete with LG pointer remote but there is something to be said for an uncluttered remote. What is a fantastic feature is the remote has dedicated buttons for brightness and picture mode. The brightness is simple rocker for up and down and a push button to cycle through the various picture modes. I do like it a lot. Build quality – There is a lot of TV to pack in to .8 inches of width. While not as solid as the LG it is acceptable and little flex. The plastic on the back is a bit flimsy, it feels more like a cover. The frame itself is solid. The included foot stands do not feel solid and held in with screws on the back. They did not feel sturdy to me but that is not empirical. Sound - The speakers are excellent. The X11L has Bang & Olufsen Tuning and you can definitely hear it on the front facing grill speaker and back sub woofers. I am not a big fan of exterior speakers like sound bars, so it was nice to hear such good sound coming from the TV. I know I am in the minority when it comes to sound bars, but this TV sounds great. Performance and screen testing Besides the usual of looking at content, I ran the TV through a series of tests from Youtube. These tests are designed to be nit picking. Most artifacts will not be noticeable during content viewing. I would have liked to show you pictures but I just could not get the right capture to show what I was seeing. Test 1 – full screen colors. Red and Green test screens – minute darkness in corners and bottom for green and red. Yellow and blue test screens were consistent with no noticeable darkness. Light blue showed slight darkness in corners Black was excellent, on par with OLEDs. White was relatively consistent with minute darkness in corners Test 2 - Black and white level tests The first test consisted of 28 boxes with varying degrees of black from black to white. In the boxes there were 1 to 3 digits numbers that were all white text except for the one box that was all white; that had black text. It is good test for blooming, consistency of levels of black and text sharpness. Black levels were excellent and consistent. Blooming was barely present, below what I have seen in comparable televisions. That is a testament to the TCL Halo Control System. Text was sharp and levels of black were consistent. The second part of the test was for white levels and contrast. It was the same parameters as the black level test. The boxes were perfect with clear gradients of on increasing darkness (from pure white, to grey to finally all black boxes.) Brightness test – This was setting the brightness to 100 and comparing various content and Youtube brightness test. Simply put, this is the brightest TV I have ever seen. I let relatively direct sunlight and I could still see the picture. In most cases the 100 brightness is too much for most content and I cannot see many reasons to go beyond 70. It really is amazing. Screen reflections test - I have two floor lamps that I placed in various positions, and the screen reflections are not a good as the top competitors and are more noticeable when compared directly to the LG OLED G4. It is not obscene, nor would I consider it a major problem - but it looked to me to be more reflective than I would have expected. The overall picture was excellent when viewing content. I would put color reproduction slightly below the top-of-the-line OLED’s but only by small margin. Colors were well saturated and jump out in the right places. Blacks were deep and whites were consistent. This is a top-of-the-line picture that nearly matches the OLED's. 4k was truly beautiful. In conclusion, this is great TV. I am going to use in place of my LG OLED C3. It does not quite match the color reproduction of LG G4 I have but it comes close and is bigger by 8 inches. There are not glaring weaknesses other than a poor warranty of 1 year parts and labor. I would expect a TV that costs nearly that of a 10-year-old used car would have a better warranty. In reference to the list price, you will see a lot of people stating it is high. It certainly is, but I have seen many TV manufacturers come out at high prices only to drop significantly as the year went on or during a sale. I cannot say whether that will happen, only what I have seen in the past. One added bonus I noticed it this TV puts out less heat than the 77 inch it is replacing. It does not sound like much, but it is noticeable in a 12 by 18 room. So the big question is would I buy it. Yes and no. At the current price point and included warranty – no. At a sale price and coverage under Best Buy Total Tech protection – yes. My answer on basis of only the robust feature set and performance – definitely.

Let me save you time: This is the greatest picture I have ever seen. Period. And I’ve seen a lot. OLEDs, high-end Sony panels, dialed-in settings, you name it...this thing still made me stop and think, “okay, this is different.” First Impressions (“this thing is bright”) You turn it on and quickly see the brightness. Not "nice and bright." More like "did someone turn the sun on in my living room?" 10,000 nits possible to be exact! But here's the thing: It's not just a showy display of light. The colors don’t wash out, they stay rich and punchy. Whites are clean, highlights sparkle, and there is an almost 3D depth to everything. That’s like looking out a window. Picture Quality: It places the X11L in a class of its own. • Dark scenes…deep, convincing blacks • Bright scenes…fantastic highlights • Mixed scenes…no weird haze or glow You get that rare combo of OLED-like blacks with way more brightness, which means movies look absolutely insane, be it a dim scene or a hot sunroom. Space scenes, nighttime pictures, anything with contrast…this TV is insane! At some point, you simply stop analyzing it and start watching…which is sort of the whole idea…a fully immersive experience. Real World Use This is a movie lover’s TV. • Movies / streaming…absolutely ridiculous (in a good way) • Sports …look unbelievable • Gaming…not OLED which is the best for gaming but the SQD Mini LED’s do a great job with games for me. Where it shines though is if you want lights-down, Dolby Vision on, and disappear into whatever you’re watching…this thing delivers. Sound (and how I’m actually running it) Out of the box, the sound is surprisingly solid with B&O sound complete with subwoofers and all onboard. TCL also gives you the option to add their wireless surround speakers, which is a nice clean way to build out a system without going full wiring project. That said…I went the other route. That’s where this TV really shines, and I’m paired with my Marantz 11.2 home theater receiver. You get the insane X11L visuals and real, full scale surround sound…and you’ve got that combo just as close to a real theater at home as you get at home. If you’re serious about home theater, this TV absolutely deserves to be part of a setup like that. The Big Drawback…The legs. The legs are spread out to almost 68 inches wide, which is honestly kind of absurd, TCL isn’t the only manufacturer doing this and it’s limiting. That means: • Standard media console…probably won’t work • Narrow furniture…forget it I ended up putting it on an aftermarket stand in the center, mounted to the VESA mounts in back, which solved the problem…but it’s something you need to plan for ahead of time. If you’re wall mounting, no issue. If not, measure twice…then measure again. Final Verdict This TV is designed for one thing: Blowing you away every time you hit play. What stands out • Greatest picture I’ve ever seen…no debate • Insane brightness without sacrificing color • Deep blacks that hold up in real scenes • Flexible audio (TCL wireless option or full AVR setup) • Pairs incredibly well with a proper receiver setup What to know going in • The stand is ridiculously wide (plan accordingly) • Not a gaming first TV if you are a hardcore gamer Bottom Line If you want a TV that makes people walk into the room and go “what is that” This is that TV. Its worth every penny.

Every aspect of the TCL 85” X11L TV is superb. I’ll start with the packaging. The packaging was not only designed to protect the TV, it was designed to facilitate moving and unpacking. The hand grips and the disassembling of the packaging were obviously given a great deal of attention. Instead of being difficult, it was EZ PEEZEE. I decided to place the TV on my 7’ long credenza rather than wall mounting. The stand was easily attached in 3 minutes and the TV placed on the credenza. It did take 2 people because the TV is approximately 6.5’ long by 3.5’ wide, an extremely svelte 1” in depth, and weighed roughly 125 lbs. The next step was setup, and once again designed to make the installation fast and straight forward. The TCL software application immediately recognized my add-ons, and by simply following the menu driven instructions that appeared I had my Xfinity apps, my Blu-Ray DVD and X Box hooked up, my WiFi connected, and Google working. It took just about 10 minutes to have the TV load all needed software. It was a pleasure. Though the TCL 11XL comes with a wonderfully designed remote control, I like having more than 1 remote control and the TV bluetooth paired Xfinity remotes were quickly up and working. Again, TCL engineers made it extremely easy to set up. Talking about remote controls, the TCL remote had something I’d never experienced before on my Samsung, LG, Sony TVs, it had 2 built in shortcuts for the adjustments that watchers need to be easily accessible, but just aren’t. On the side of the remote there is a brightness button that eliminates having to open a menu and then perhaps another menu to get to the brightness slider. Additionally, the picture of the TCL has settings such as STANDARD, VIVID, SPORTS, MOVIE, INTELLIGENT, and more. The choice is easily made by the touch of another button on the side of the remote control. What a classy touch of engineering thoughtfulness. Imagine, no menus to work through. I am a long time subscriber to Apple TV and Amazon, hence enjoy watching Apple TV movies and serials, and PRIME VIDEO. With the touch of a button on the remote control, I now access both. The TV is basically all screen from bottom to top and side to side with only the tiniest bezel. The picture is simple awesome. The images are razor sharp, even when they are rapidly moving such as in gaming. My X Box brought more involvement than on my other TVs. I enjoy gaming, but now I enjoy gaming to a level I never believed possible. I was enthralled. I do not have tools to measure contrast, whiteness and pure blackness, but to my family, the TCL provided the best images they had ever seen on a TV. The colors are dazzling and distinct with zero bleed, zero blooming. Sound on most TVs is okay, but nothing to rave about. The TCL audio is special. You can discern every note when music is playing, voices are crystal clear, and bass is excellent. Though it would be easy to add additional speakers, it is not necessary because the built in speakers are stellar. The TCL was designed to work with Apple AirPlay (which I have) and the built in GOOGLE provides excellent access to the many benefits of GOOGLE TV. Bottomline: I believe the TCL 85” X11L now sets the standard in premium TVs. IMHO, it is unsurpassed, and I could not recommend it more highly for folks that crave the very best TV experience.
