The Edge of the World - DVD

Brutal pirates take over a lighthouse on a rocky island. They then execute a plan to crash incoming ships on the shore and pillage their wrecks. A lone member of the lighthouse crew survives, desperately fighting to stay alive. When a beautiful maiden is shipwrecked and captured, he must decide whether to save her or himself.

This touching and inspirational story is about loyalty, friendship, and courage. New man in town Kenny Williams (James McDaniel) has just accepted a position as an English professor at the Three Nations Reservation in Utah.

Writer/director Michael Powell's first major success was this engrossing account of life on Foula, a Shetland Island off the coast of Scotland. Adventurous youth Robbie Manson (Eric Berry) considers joining the multitudes of young people leaving for the mainland or staying on the stagnant island with his pregnant girlfriend. Finlay Currie, Niall MacGinnis, John Laurie, Belle Chrystall, and Grant Sutherland co-star in this striking drama. 75 min.
