G It was a great movie. Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford work well together. Nice work from the supporting cast as well.

If you haven't seen The Frisco Kid, you should. It's one of Gene Wilder's best films.

This is my favorite movie to watch when I just want a break, I can always count on it to raise my spirits for it is extremely funny, and the good Avram is so courteous and civil to all. He knows his priorities. I really like the scene where a snake scares Avram's horse and he jumps off the cliff, and then Tommy says "Well! If he can do it I can do it!" and jumps too! the scenes with the Indians are priceless, especially when Avram shows them how his people dance. It is a wonderful movie, simply wonderful. I haven't watched the DVD extras yet, so I cannot rate them.

This is a nice little Western set in 1850 with a twist of comedy thrown in...much like John Wayne might have been in. And according to Wilder's autobiography he was asked to be in it, but declined because of money (I would bet it would have been because of his health since Wayne died the year this picture was released). At any rate a young Harrison Ford, still fresh faced and with the hair cut he wore in Star Wars, is the gunman he befriends on his way to San Fransisco. You see Wilder is a newly appointed Rabbi for the small town and he must travel from one side of America to the other running into Indians, a Band of Evil gunslingers and the odd Raccoon or two. He needs help in the crossing and Harrison's character decides its up to him to help him find his way. While funny at times it is by no means another Blazing saddles...nor was it intended to be. Like I said...a nice Western with comedy thrown in from time to time. Wilder and Ford make a good pair and they must have had fun making the movie since they have good chemistry here onscreen. The script and direction should have been stronger but all in all a fun little movie.

Egads, how could Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford star in a movie this terrible. It is supposed to be a comedy, but does not have a single laugh. One can only laugh at how horrible the script is. Even if you got this movie for free it would cost too much since you would have to waste two hours just to view it, time that could be better spent doing ANY OTHER activity on earth.
