Remember those rotoscoped animations from from Ralph Bakshi? Well here's your modern successor!

This movie is straight up out of heavy metal, if heavy metal stuck with one narrative for the entire run. It looks visually interesting and the story is pretty cool. great blind buy.

Love this. It’s classic retro adult animation. If you like Bakshi or Heavy Metal you love this avid-trip throwback

Weird movie. Pretty interesting, but the animation was not all that good.

Great to have another unique animated title like this, since most stuff these days seems to all be the same old formula as far as animated features go. A real breath of fresh air if you're a fan of older roto-scoped or animated fantasy films like Fire & Ice, Lord Of The Rings, or Heavy Metal, this is highly recommended for you. Also included is a making of extra that runs around half an hour if memory serves, but I do wish that it would have included a commentary for the feature presentation.

Wow!!! What a great film the ideas are admittedly better than the film itself...but this film was no small feat to produce...the story arc is very interesting and not completely original but enough so to give it something special...I'd recommend this to anyone who likes films... like to your last death mixed with heavy metal ...with some heavy mysticism and cosmic Lovecraft type elements in it's mythology. Highly recommend!

The Spine of Night was so much better than I had been reading about in other reviews. As a huge horror, fantasy and animation fan, this movie brings me joy. My wife also liked. A good endorsement. Expect animation style graphic gore, nudity and an interesting plot. There are a number of great bonus features, 2 shorts and the backstory for how Spine of Night came to fruition. Recommended highly!

an epic throwback to 70's animation (Fire & Ice-Heavy Metal etc..) along with same kinda writing-plot-pacing flaws... but still enjoyable none the less... lots of gore and cool visuals... I picked it up on a whim... kinda what I expected... not disappointed... with a cool steelbook packaging this ones a keeper! and I'm sure many fans of this 70's style will have fun.

Okay, so I'll admit I purchased this because of the art on the case and a desire for something animated. I absolutely didn't know what I was getting into, but that's not a bad thing for this film. It's dark, gritty, gruesome and raw. I wish I could find more shows like this as easily as I can find anime that baits you into a similar experience (Berserk is about as close as it gets).

A pretty decent tribute to Heavy Metal, marred by sub par animation but has above average voice acting. The steelbook is beautiful though and worth the price of admission alone. For fans of Heavy Metal magazine or old school Frank Frazzeta or Boris Vallejo style art.

This is an imaginative Conanesque animated adventure filled with violence and nudity. What's not to like? A very interesting "Making of" feature and two excellent short films by the same filmmakers are also included. Recommended.

Classic rotoscope style animation that is rarely used anymore. Gives this chilling tale a unique look that stands out amongst its contemporaries. Beautiful steelbook as well. Glad to ahve this on ein the collection.

I'll review the steelbook. It's very standard, artiwrk is nice and the back has a pretty cool design. The movie is what you would expect old school animation to be. For the price it's nice to collect

Entertaining. Definitely not for children (nudity/violence). Extras include behind the scenes on making the movie and two short films also by the creators. I only watched the Blu-Ray, not the 4K.

Definitely not what I was expecting. A little slow in parts. But ending was gratifying. If you loved the Heavy Metal movie you'll probably enjoy this.

Absolutely fantastic labour-of-love project that gets a deserving release. If you like the violent, rotoscoped animated projects of the 70s and 80s, you'll love this.

Love Bakshi style animation. Rotoscoping is a great way to make a fantasy film in animation, feel pychodelic. Looks great in my steelbook collection.
