About This Item
A three-man crew from Tehran arrives in an isolated Kurdish village in Iran's mountainous north, supposedly for a telecommunications project but really to film the traditional funeral that will take place once an ailing 100-year-old villager passes away. As they patiently wait for the woman to die, the film team's director forms bonds with the locals that lead him to re-examine his life. Director Abbas Kiraostami's lyrical, metaphorical tale stars Behzad Dourani and the real-life residents of Siah Dareh. 118 min.
