Season 2 of the The X-Files was the beginning of the show's transition from cult series to pop culture phenomenon. Picking up from the shocking events of the season one finale, FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully have been separated and the X-Files have been closed. But there are still strange phenomenon to discover...and the growing government conspiracy involving the existence of aliens and connections to Mulder's family. The season is most famous for Scully's abduction (originally done to explain Gillian Anderson's pregnancy, it deepened the alien mythology and set the show on the course of excellent it maintained for most of its run). Upgraded to HD picture and with a widescreen presentation, the show looks better than ever and is aggressively priced. Whether you want to refresh your memory before the new show or are discovering it for the first time, pick it up.

Gillian Anderson's pregnancy is probably the best thing that ever happened to this show, as it forced the writers to think outside the box and ultimately create the arc that centered around Scully's abduction, the catalyst that really drew Mulder & Scully together as the quest for the truth became markedly personal to both of them even as it reached to ever more life-threatening heights. The stand alones are superb in this season, with 'Red Museum', 'Firewalker', 'Humbug' (the show's first foray into comedy), and 'Irresistible' (which introduces one of the creepiest villains ever, Donnie Pfaster), and alongside mythology episodes like 'Colony', 'End Game', and the first true cliffhanger 'Anasazi', season 2 of 'The X-Files' catapulted the show to new heights among television entertainment, making this a must-have season for the true fan!

If you are reading this review then you are an X Files fan. This is hands down one of the best science fiction series out there, I was sad when the series ended. I purchased all 9 seasons on DVD and very happy with the series on DVD with one complaint, the inability to watch each show consecutively. Currently, when an episode ends, I have to select the next one and click play, I don’t know what they were thinking when they created these DVD’s but they are all like this. I want to be able to click play and watch the all episodes on the DVD without being prompted click play just to watch the next episode.

The X-Files Blu-ray releases have been consistently impressive. The shows look and sound terrific. But there's something else that I really appreciate - the restoration of bonus features. I'm not sure if these are the complete bonus features from the original DVD releases, but they are a significant improvement over the stripped-down bargain DVD versions that were released after the original sets were discontinued.

So called "Monster of the Week" episodes show that the writers did not forget what fans of the genre appreciate - Sometimes you just want the tar scared out of you. The show received numerous emmy nominations this year, but not just from the industry taking notice. The writing and storylines became more engaging and suspenseful. A must-have on Blu-Ray.

Picked up the individual seasons on sale at Best Buy. Being an owner of the DVD version of the series, it's AMAZING the transfer to Blu Ray. Almost felt new watching the series again in the format. If you grew up loving the X-Files, pick up the Blu Ray versions of the season...definitely worth the money!

Season 2 is where the conspiracy arc of the show really starts to take off. The Smoking Man takes a more prominent role and we are introduced to Mr. X and Alex Krycek. Who Mulder can or cannot trust becomes murkier and the level of paranoia becomes thicker in this season. A definite must-see season.

This is the season that started to expand on the UFO/government conspiracy mythology of the series. Mulder and Scully are separated but are still in search of the truth. For those who care, the first three seasons were originally aired in 4:3 format but the blu-ray releases are in 16:9 format.

Season two of X-files has an interesting twist of the story line - less action and more politics etc. The show spends more time on personal matters for Muler and Dana from here, which is not surprising so audience and get familiar with the characters instead of simply solving cases.

It was pretty fantastic to relive my X-Files memories in this bluray collection. The special features were great. Everything is as I remember it. Great addition to any collection. Some of the best episodes are on this season 2 disc. The truth is definitely out there!

In a world of cookie cutter entertainments, The X-Files was largely sui generis and continues to be one of the more distinctive entries in series television of the past couple of decades. will keep you knee high (or higher) in conspiracy theory.comes Highly recommended.

The Blu-ray versions of "The X-Files" give you a good reason to buy them all over again. The widescreen image for season 2 looks very natural to me, benefiting the lush Canadian location shooting and its dark color palette. Like the multiple language options as well.

After a strong first season, the show really found it's footing in season 2. The acting improved and the chemistry between Mulder & Scully became more tangible. The stories are strong & the mythology grows deeper. This is a must buy for any fan of the X-Files.

What more needs to be said. It's the second season of the X-Files TV series, in remastered widescreen with 5.1 sound. It looks and sounds great! All of these seasons can be purchased individually if you need to build your series over time. Highly recommended!

Seriously Best Buy had all of the seasons of the X-Files on Blu-Ray on sale for $9.99. That is ridiculously cheap. They were out of most so I ordered them from my tablet as soon as I got in my car, a big thank you to Best Buy for living up to their name.

This show was amazing on TV and lead the way to the shows we have now like Supernatural. I thought that being on Blu-ray the quality might degrade but it didn't. It was clear and crisp and I have enjoyed every second of the episodes and reliving the memories.

So glad they finally upgraded to High Def. I enjoyed re-watching the season in High Def on Netflix and now glad to own it (I'm sure at some point it will not be available to stream, so I went ahead and upgraded my dvds). I will always knock one star off of X-Files seasons until they go in and give them the ultimate treatment. This series should have tons of extras and they just seem to be lacking. Would have also appreciated a digital copy. I'm willing to double dip when they decide to do both.
